I’m 22 year old and I bought 62 year Zorki 4 with Jupiter 8 and very love him. Bought one of the first versions due engraving. Old master help me to repair his shutter and now camera works as clock:)

You earned yourself a nice cup of tea... and I hope you never have to use it as a weapon, too! Thanks for the video. Thinking of picking one of these beauties up after covid.
Thanks for that Peter. I have a Zorki 4 and a Zenit 3m. Haven't had them out in a while so you have spurred me on to get some film in them and get out there!
Excellent video again Peter. I have Zorki 4 from 1956 and it's still working properly. Haven't shot it for a while because I have too many cameras to take pictures. Now I'm taking some B&W autumn images with Kodak Retina 1a loaded with Ilford XP2 film. Hope you're doing well. Greetings from Finland.
Peter, you can virtually guarantee that if you demonstrate a camera on UA-cam something either won't fit, will fall off or explode! I say this from experience apart from the exploding bit!!! Interesting demo too.
Peter Elgar Ha! I’ll try my best! Been investigating some Fed 3-4 with a 52mm 2.8 industar 61n lens. Seems a decent lens on a metal brick, but the images I’ve seen are pretty crisp. Cheers! JP
I own 3! Including an October revolution special edition (just a red star and and engraving). One of my favorite LTM cameras. Much easier to use with the combined finder, but I still prefer my zorki 1. Soo compact!
Cheers ME up to read all the kind Comments from all over the World -- My Surgeon and Doctor says it is messing about with my Old Cameras and stuff that keeps me alive !
Thank you Peter. For obvious reason they used to be very popular in Eastern Europe. In 1988 I received my first camera. That was Fed 5b, camera quite similar to Zorki. I love the sound of its shutter (FED). Actually I think it is my favourite sound of the shutter despite having much better cameras like Yashicas, Contax 167, F90 and C330. I have a question though. How did you find framing with lenses other than 50mm? I also have this accessory that comes on top but trying to shoot 80 mm lens I had problems with framing properly. What are your impressions with 135 mm? ALso I have heard that there are some problems with proper focusing with 135 mm lens. I am used to focusing with 50mm with these cameras but is 135 mm any different?
Well done. It's hard to find informational how to videos on Russian camera. I happen to have almost the same set up, Zorki 3M, Jupiter 8 and 11 with the Russian made Universal Viewfinder. Excellent setup and a conversation starter for sure.
So. mr Elgar you studied the Russian laguage ? Is it true you wash your B&W films in wodka? Can you do a review on russian cameras and lenses? People started photography in the West during the Cold War buying a Lubitel 6x6 TLR or a Zenih 3M SLR 24x36. When I was young I had no money to buy the stereo 6x6 SPUTNIK and the 6x6 panorama HORIZON. The TAIR 300 mm in metal case costed a lot of Pounds. Are you a film actor spy who came in from the cold in his Lada?

Thanks Peter, been wondering about these cameras lately. Good to hear your voice.
YES -- Still 'Going' after my big Operation on my Liver Cancer Lesions and a follow -up Gastroscope ( Try NOT to have one of THOSE!! ) Ha Ha !

Nice to see you back Mr Elgar. I like Russian vintage cameras a lot - I have a early 1952 FED and a 1957 Kiev 2 - both great fun to use.
count me in as one that enjoys your videos, as long as I'm not getting mobbed on the street without my Zorki camera to protect me!

I've always wondered how the 3-turret viewfinder worked. Fine presentation and kind regards.
Yo, What a cool camera! Glad you're well Peter
Great video, Peter ( as a!ways ) ! Keep them coming !👍
I believe the index mark for the frame counter is the little engraved dot near by the shutter button.
Thanks for posting this! I've been eyeing one of these cameras.
Nice video, Peter. I always enjoy them. By the way: mounting a lens on these cameras
is easier if you lay the camera flat on its back.
Great upload , would be great to see some test shots from the zorki 👍🏻👏🏻
Loved your narration thanks for the info!, subscribed!

Ha Ha ! Vodka is TOO EXPENSIVE with all the TAXES here in UK -- I had a ride in a LADA once during a visit to POLAND !
Great video as always, I was expecting to see some prints of your results with the camera. Are they on your Flickr?
I will put some on my Flickr TODAY but not all as I took quite 'Boring' Tests in poor light around Brentwood as usual .
help me out, you wind it back to zero after each shot, right? in the video the number is 30, hence the confusion.
someone clarify please.
Thank you Peter
Nice video
I've one of this in red.s/n 5758850
In Poland, most photographers say it is garbage. Is not so bad, Zenit - yes but Zorki or FED? No way
in Poland, just mention Russia and its autaticaly bad, istn it. The reality is different
