Same here man… I’ve played since 2019, it sucks seeing all the cool and good things get removed. I remember logging in every week to see the weekly, always trying to get them done, it personally made the game more fun, and encouraged people to play the RROs more. It’s just sad seeing the direction Rec Room is going in, it’s like Roblox all over again…
Im genuinely surprised this game is gaining players. They remove good things, add mediocre things, keep breaking core elements of the game, upcharge the crap out of everything, then try to turn around and act like theyre just a small company trying to make it by. its genuinely disgusting

Ye they removed all my favorite games which just made it a boring gameplay for me, but not only talking for myself I’m talking for the creators as they worked on a map for ppl to play with and have fun just for it to one day just end up in the void of forgotten things then when newer players join those fun games become forgotten bc all the of players of recroom that played those games leave bc life gets in the way, same happened for me but I still remember those games all the games now aren’t as fun but I do have a reasonable explanation and its that where getting older and our perspective of things change overtime and we mature so maybe it’s that or maybe their just changing it for the generations that we have today if that’s the case just tell the children today about the past and they might be amazed by the way it was back then and I was also told don’t reflect on the past instead look up to what we have now so I’m going with that as what we have today might be even worse later or it might be better idk but still enjoy what we have today
Their target demographic has the lowest possible standards: Children on the lowest barrier-to-entry devices. I'm equally surprised at all the kidslop on UA-cam that gets millions of views. RR is eating up that audience as well.

It's a shame they don't consult Video Partners first - we know our communities best. You stream these weekly which is a huge part of your content. To just take it away without consulting us is a shame. In addition, they took away so many programs for creators and there doesn't seem to be a game plan to bring them back. I will always love Rec Room but I wish they would throw a bone to the people who have played the game for years and years and made it what it is today.

Totally agree with your points man. ill be real I almost quit doing UA-cam this year (and kinda last year) and its not all rec rooms fault of course but my decline in views and the direction the game has taken has really demotivated me to continue this as a hobby/personal business feeling more like a chore. But I'm just in a similar boat to you and I'm kind lost on where to go from here, that is if there is a future for OreoVR. I really hope there is some light at the end of the tunnel or resolution but was really interesting to have your input and I appreciate you speaking out boe keep up the great videos as you have for the past years fr.

And this is why I never became a RecRoom youtuber because a game will sometime have its downfall and get boring and die and that leaves you with no more RecRoom Contant so you have to either choose something else or just leave UA-cam

As someone who has been playing Rec Room for a while, it really hurts to see a game I love losing the assets that we as a community used to hold close to our hearts. Personally, I miss going on Rec Room every day with my friends. Now, we barely play, and it's sad that our only conversations revolve around "remember that time in Rec Room?". I wish the best for Rec Room and hope that it will soon regain the former glory it held for us.

Rec room needs to start making RR-Originals again like they did 4-6 years ago
For real, like the last good Rec Room Originals they made was StuntRunner (at least in my opinion). And sure Showdown and MakeItToMidnight were also top tier RROs but those died down in popularity after like a month. StuntRunner on the other hand is a lot more fun being that it has a better aspect of racing and doing parkour at the same time.

We need more people to speak out about the problems with Rec Room. I feel like not enough people speak out on the issues so they just don’t care. We complain not out of hate but out of love for the game we want to do better.

I remember when I fell in love with the community as a screenmode, went and bought a used Oculus Rift CV1, and then dropped 2k hours on Rec Room. Much of it was spent on completing dailies and weekly challenges with friends😢... sad to see them go.
I started playing in february 2023 and I fell in love reached level 50 in december 2023 and took some time off cuz I was burnt out then I bought a oculus in december and started playing a lot of vr and still do but I made a separate vr account and I’m having fun with golden trophy now.

*add crescendo to quest 3, it has twice the power of the quest 2
*add a new quest, nobody wants this fba shi, we want a quest.
*fix all these gosh darn bugs, and optimize your game more,

at this point i just check the discord every now and then to see what beloved feature has been removed and almost every time i check the devs have removed something people liked
and its always half assed too, like that "fix" for infinite shooting not only removing double shooting but didnt even fix infinite shooting and just made it a slight inconvenience
From the lack of content updates, to the increase in rec rooms item inflation, removal of weekly challenges, no new creator contests (its been literally 1 year), its hard to see the game going through all this. The last major content update was 9 months ago, a game cant go that long with out anything new, plus the fact they are removing a core element of what made playing the games rros fun (that being weeklies). Rec Rooms becoming to reliant on the players, spending their money, and making player created rooms to hinder to rec rooms overall engagement.

As a paintball player this constant bug of pvp going off is super annoying because then I can’t play. Also another bug was playing in clearcut and having the game randomly crash and stop with no results which annoys me because I like to record my progress of my paintball hits. 1 other bug I have just noticed, similar to rooms breaking, is when I play in rooms other than RROs, players avatars will break for no reason I know of. Those are just a couple of annoying bugs I know 😅.

I already quit rec room 2 months ago. I remember the good old days where i was 9 years old playing happily with my friends. Im now a roblox player but man.. I miss being happy. Rec room back then used to so fun. Now it's chilling in the basement of my games. I can't believe my favorite game turned out like this
I miss Rec Room sometimes, I haven’t touched my headset in months, it’s just collecting dust in the corner, before I used it all the time with my old friend group and RR was really the thing holding us together, I used to play all the time and now, I lost those two as friends, RR went downhill, I think it started with that science stuff, that lost a lot of people’s interest. I haven’t played in so long, wish things could go back to how they used to be, just dumb fun with friends and not having to worry about the 10,000 token prices and all that junk.

2020-2022 was some of the most fun I’ve ever had in VR, it was the thing I was doing when I was locked in my house because so many people got into vr and rec room, and when the pandemic ended it felt like the game was hollowed out and going back to play it felt like going into a ghost town

Exactly, I remember a couple of months ago I went into the rec room discord to try to find a solution with double shotting since it was such a big part of the community. However I was just disrespected and completely cussed out because the games “focus” isn’t on a glitch.
i remember playing all the horror games and coding in CV2 and playing with my friends. Now, those games that i used to like have died out and my friends have been getting more and more inactive. Itll never be the same, and i miss it when the watch screen wasnt 80% "build your own" rooms.

Dude I’m a huge fan of you and your work. You have some amazing points that need to be made. I agree that double shot needs to be brought back the old fashioned way. I’m a level 50 by the username of Grand Scorpion and I’m pretty good at quests if you want to do a challenge sometime. Anyways I would recommend that Rec Room starts by listening to our opinion and putting them into action. I would love to see Crescendo on Quest 3 and more Rec Room quests like a sequel to Isle and Jumbotron. Anyway thanks for putting up with my rant I love Rec Room and I’m sad to see it on it’s way out.
thank you boe for making this video. I quit playing a while ago but i used to play hours and hours a day and made some of the best friends playing and streaming this game. Countless people know and have made videos on rec rooms honestly "disappointing behavior" (business yada yada). Especially your take on weeklys. used to grind them every week or maybe join your game if I got the chance. havent played rec room for the most part for about a year now. i stoped when they started going nuts with the prices. i loved the weeklys and when they made them monthlys it really upset me. and now there fully taking them out... it honestly hurts me more then it should i started playing rec room back in 2020 becuse of covid and loved it and i still do. i always watched your weekly streams and then did the weeklys myself it was soo fun helping new players get them but i guess now we cant anymore. i just hope they do bring them back at some point.

Totally agree, it's very refreshing to see a larger content creator pointing out the simple issues that are bringing rec room down. I've been making these sorts of videos for a while now, and I never intend to hate on rec room, it's just super frustrating to see a game that we've all loved for years get hurt by a company's selfish or dumb decisions. Definitely helps when creators like yourself point these out so there's a chance at saving rec room. But in my opinion, it's too far gone. I've noticed you have started to shift to other games due to disinterest in rec room videos, and this is probably what most creators will have to start doing. - I totally agree with your opinion on taking away weeklies.
- I think Full Body Avatars are alright. It’s just the fact that it gives your character a nose when you turn FBA on. But you can just easily remove the nose from your avatar.
- You are definitely right about needing a new quest. Although we technically did get a “new Rec Room Original Quest” it doesn’t have the same vibe the other quests do. We, the community, were giving the dev team ideas on what the next quest should be. But they were just refusing to even use their ideas.
I remember there was such a cool thing either in UA-cam shorts or in Tik Tok that with the new weekly there was a mini story with a demonstration of skins

I agree with everything you've said. I love playing and making content over Rec Room, but it's getting harder and harder to keep supporting them and their strange choices.
I had NO idea about the Lost Skulls bug until about a week ago. Me and a couple of friends went through all of Isle, and I was expecting to finally win Isle (I'm not that good at quests). Went we got to Ghostbeard, none of us could hit him at all, and Ghostbeard couldn't even hit US. we spent 10 minutes on him alone trying everything, hitting him with flintlocks, swords, even hitting him with the cannon multiple times because it could've just been our internet. It wasn't. One of my friends said he'll stay for a while and me and the other guy left to do something actually fun. Obviously, he wasn't able to kill Ghostbeard after we left...

Yeah man, i feel you. I remember when i first discovered recroom in 2021, i just got obsessed, especially in the summer. I put like 100~ hours in just 3 months. I played recroom after that, but not as much. Since they removed the double shots, i just completly lost hope. I even played today, and watched your video on how to doubleshot again ( great video btw), but the game doesent feel the same. Since i first played, i upgraded my GPU to a much better alternative, but the game is somehow still lagging to some extent. The prices are just...outrageous.
I quit rec room sadly about half a year ago I’ve seen what’s been happing and forcing my self to make games witch I love but doesn’t motivate or make me feel happy or getting better, seeing rec room die is almost seeing a part of me die.
I’m very sorry for people who have a big community on rec room and watching them leave but rec room it’s self, something happened to it I don’t know if they got greedy lazy or knew that we would stay for if they did anything werid or bad but went to far. Either way rec room, lost us.

I’m so with you on the bugs and glitches, as a creator there are so many infinite bugs and crashes with the maker pen system. It makes me like creating in this game less and less and I have over 2k following in groups and I do big events and have been on this train for 3 years now and it’s really pushing me away. They care more about profit and what little kids want other than the true players or creative team it’s really a shame
When I first got a vr headset one of the first games I played was RecRoom. I have tons of memories in that game and seeing weeklies go is sad.

For example: There was a bug where the player joined events wouldn't be captured
Also, there are bugs that have been around since literally the sandbox machine, like when you delete a magic wand that is about to fire, it creates a looping hiss sound. Another is when you delete a shooting paint thrower (using the replicator's return object) it makes a looping sound at that location
I remember when I used to play Rec Room a bunch. Then I moved to VRChat, stopped playing for a bit, came back, and was just disgusted by everything. I didn't even know the now non-existent "monthly's" were still around, I thought they were gone. I miss the old stand that would show the weekly in the dorm room. I miss it when it was actually fun to play rec room. Now, it's just a bunch of things thrown together to make the game seem "appealing". It's quite sad now that the game has come to this, and I truly wish that It never went down the path it did.
Man, in 2021 me and my friend would play all day on Rec room till we had to sleep, Rec Room weeklies was a huge part of our friendship. But now its gone is just sad. I remember meeting hairymanlegs in 2022 and man were my friends amazed. But, Gorilla tag content, and recroom content is dying out. I dont know where to go on the content creator trail anymore.

Last year I played rec room super much every day. All though the new year ever since full body came out and when I hit like level 46, I looked at it and thought it was disturbing and then I quit and I came back today looking what our community has built up to. I didn’t like it but I still like red room. Rec room is a change of everything that will be in your thoughts. One of my friends died this year a rec room friend so it’s another reason why I QUIT rec room. But I will never forget the good ol rec room. But it could change you never know!
I remember when I would be playing this game a few years ago. I would always try to play a quest with you. One day, I finally did. I ended up meeting a really good friend on the game. We were friends for quite a while. Anyways, numerous baffling decisions from Rec Room devs later, we now both never play this game or really even talk to each other. It's sad how hard they're just kinda fumbling this game.

When I started playing Rec Room it was 2020 I bought a new quest 2. Covid made everyone stay inside and I played a ton of Rec Room. Things are just not the same.........
I definitely agree with the Roblox point. every time I log on Rec Room, I get multiple ads telling me to get a starter pack or a bundle. They only want you to give them money to the point where they start to stop caring about the players, but more the money.
I loved Blooming Adventure and The Back Door, and sadly those fan-made quests are now completely broken, which really upsets me because they were very fun.
played this game when I was 13-14. used to watch these youtube channels, be on the discord server and everything but I stopped and I'm 17 now. Don't know why this came up in my feed but it's sad to see that recroom still has the same problems of not listening to their community just like they did in 2020
Everything said here is very true, Im a creator myself, It has been an absolute hassle trying to work on my rooms, Most of them have been broken, and if i wanna get money i have to go to rooms 2.0 and its an absolute nightmare, Great vid boe for highlighting this serious problem
As someone who has been playing rec room for 3 years I still like this game even if there are bugs and glitches I still have a good time with this game I love doing challenges in the game etc and I understand why rec room does these type of things.
I remember me and my friend would get on rec room and play the weekly’s also I almost cried because I remember the time when rec room was at its peak and now it’s dead. The good times are over 😢😢😢😢😢😢

As an OG player from 2019, I agree with everything you've said here. The main thing about Rec Room is they've changed their game direction so much that it's original players aren't even playing the same, original game they've known and loved. Back then it was about playing a handful of fun games with people created by the team, now the devs have removed many original features to the point that it's killing off the OG fanbase.
I used to play rec room for legit 6 hours a day, I loved my friends and it was fun for the long haul
Rec room weekly was the biggest reason I played rec room.
The issues they spoke about with weekly challenges are entirely caused by them messing with challenges in the first place.
I feel the same way rec room is the most nostalgic game I’ve ever played it reminds me of when I was innocent and I first got an oculus. I stopped playing about a year ago I was just so sad I didn’t have a weekly me and my friend use to just grind the weekly’s as soon as they came out. Some of the funnest moments of my life had happened on rec room. Then they took double shot out I remember grinding countless hours to finally beat crimson cauldron me and my friend would always run duos and it was always so fun I’m sad to see rec room go but it will always have a place in my heart. The rec room tutorial music will always make me emotional ❤

I know most people won’t see this or it won’t matter to them.
I was a constant player of Rec room for about 2 years. I stopped about a year in a half ago by this point because one of my quest 2 controllers had an insane amount of stick drift. I’m not good with messing with electronics, and fixing/getting a new one was to expensive.
The reason I bring this up is the amount of time I have spent building my room, which I have over a dozen hours building as many games I have played in the past that have affected my life in some way.

I played RecRoom since the beginning and I am sad it is slowly coming to an end. Every day I would wake up go to school and thing about playing rec room when I get home and that was what i did for the rest of the day. But I had a lack of communication because I was under 13 at the time and people were lookin at me and talking but I couldn’t hear but my parents knew about non junior accounts so on my 13 birthday I got oculus quest 2 and a non junior account I was so happy to communicate and make my own rooms but after a while the toxic
community started making fun of me so I stopped playing rec room for almost a year but then I heard about a science invasion and I thought I would give the community another shot and I played ever since then
This is a shame for rec room to discontinue too right after they got there own gift cards the created and it’s only been out for a 1 year or so
Boe is the one who inspired me to make content and as much as this video sounds like just another rant about a company, he’s got a point.
