      Thanks for watching! I agree - I think the future will be highly customizable because of advanced manufacturing methods, i.e. 3D printing.

    These could be huge for fasciitis and other foot problems, instead of a sole that can slip around and is generally not that precise it could be contoured to your exact foot arch per foot etc

      Unfortunately their foot scanning actually doesn't do anything. It's not a 3d scan of your foot

    These are sick! I have one coming, and I am so excited! Would you say they will be good for working out or just for daily life?

      Not sure tbh. The ones I have are casual shoes for fashion. They do have runners on their site though so maybe those ones?

    Durable shoes for school kids, we just need something casual and affordable

      If these shoes last 10+ years then they will be affordable since you won't need to keep buying more and more shoes over the years. However, to each their own. They have more "normal" looking shoes on their website too. Thanks for watching!

    Driving over a shoe is not a durability test... Try dragging it behind a car and you'll learn more about it's durability.

    I personally think shoes like this look like dookie, but that's besides the point. I do believe 3D printed shoes or anything printable for that matter will be normalized in the future. Especially since 3D printers are becoming more and more plug and play and affordable. I wouldn't call these ones affordable though, not unless you can print them yourself.

      If you consider that most shoes last 1-2 years, these ones should last 10+ years (in my opinion). Therefore, if they cost 2x the price but last 5x as long, they are actually affordable, all things considered.
      I agree that 3D-printed shoes will be the future of most manufacturing. It's just a matter of time before the intricacies are worked out and the cost of production is lowered.
      Printing yourself may be an option in the future, but for now, Zellerfeld uses custom-made 3D printers and custom filament materials designed in-house.
      Thanks for watching!

      @@LedgeAndary in the case of in-house designed printers and filament, it would make sense to eventually grow and create a few small production facilities in a few different countries to lower shipping costs and make them more affordable. They're currently at designer prices and I suspect based on the layer lines that they're also not designed for more than a couple years of durability. when they are proven to last more than a year of daily use, I'll reconsider. Until then, I know I can find a good pair of shoes for

    My two pairs are „printing“ since almost 3 weeks …

    • @LedgeAndary
      @LedgeAndary  21 день тому

      Yeah, my second pair said “ready to print” 2 weeks ago. Their demand is outrageous. Worth the wait though! Which design did you choose?

    • @BcBTheta

      When they ask for you to pay, does that mean they are ready to print my shoes right after I pay? Or is there still a wait time after I pay the full amount?

    • @LedgeAndary
      @LedgeAndary  3 дні тому

      @ they start printing very soon after payment, within a couple of days from my experience.

  • @freescape08

    2:56 that's factually incorrect. You're telling me just because it's plastic, it cannot hold onto smell-producing fungus or bacteria? Have you ever worn a synthetic shirt? Have you ever owned a pair of Crocs? If it's due to some antibacterial additive, then tell us. And this would be a great time to tell us that you threw them in the washing machine, and they came out like they were new.

    The future....for ultra casual maybe. Their website sucks. Not interested until I can view the shoes up close, and definitely not interested in an odd looking, plastic, 3D printed shoe for that high of cost.

    • @LedgeAndary
      @LedgeAndary  22 дні тому +1

      Not sure if you watched the video all the way through, but the "plastic" they use is designed by engineers in-house and is SUPER comfortable and breathable. No odours, and is fitted to your exact foot using pics from your smart phone. Mine fits perfectly.
      Furthermore, they're so backed up with orders that they're not really marketing or trying to enhance their website too much at the moment. 3D-printing opens the doors for extreme customization, not only with aesthetics, but with performance as well. Adidas and other major brands have introduced partially 3D printed shoes too. It will be the future of shoes for sure, just a matter of time.
      Thanks for watching!
