i never really bought into the hype surrounding algo trading a few years ago until last year. seeing how effortlessly my portfolio has been scaling since the last quarter, actually about $310k in growth, even with the current turbulence, i do not know why more people are not adopting this approach. with concepts like DCA and rebalancing all automated, it could not have been better. been helluva ride so far!

I have been investing in real estate for a while now and a lot of people talk about Cryptocurrency. Who else thinks this crypto trading is kinda easy but is way to nervous to start.
You suggested trading on your own without guidance from an expert or professional. Huh! Laugh you, because you will remain where you are or make a lot of losses that would blow your account and loose all your money this has been.
The LBO went through for Rain Industries because the underwaters were focused on the cash flows. It's almost along the lines of buying commercial property(ies). The lenders will always focus more on the CFs b/c they're always looking to generate a return on the borrowed funds from its depositors. If the loan has a high probability of success, the lender will do the deal.
1. “Clear your calendar” is your key takeaway 2. Great investment is not the same as finding great business, price at which buy is more important 3. Bankers are charlatans who have no issues screwing the investors, for their underwriting fee for bond issue.:)

Sunteck realty to be honest is a huge gamble, real estate companies in India have the tendency to capitulate overnight especially ones in Mumbai and Delhi. Might possibly beat mastercard but the risk profile of both companies is poles apart.

It's more than 5 years since Oct 2018. Master Card share price has almost doubled since then whereas, Suntech has increased only by 42 percent over 05 years. I'm sure Mohnish had his reasons to pick the stock but the bottom-line is, markets are difficult to predict so don't put all your eggs in one basket

Well as of now, MasterCard is up 63% and sunteck is still at 37% up. We still have 8 years though. It's not as simple as trying to buy a stock that hasn't grown by thousands of % since first sale. Some companies stay at same price forever, some companies go bankrupt. Very interesting video though.

You mention early on that over long term, what an investor earn would be almost the same as what business will earn, I also learn this quote from Charlie Munger, then you also share the case of Coke from 2000 up to 2018, which still a good company, but bring mediocre return 3% for investor, where is this gap come from? I used to thought even a mediocre business with 10-15% return on actual capital employed, but if I can buy at 50% discount of value, then real return on my money put in should be way better than 10-15%, can you explain more on this point?

We need to really appreciate these Chinese students for attending lectures in English. I can understand how hard it will be for them to grasp & raise question from it. Chinese people are keen towards learning English & Improvise themselves. But i am wondering, if their study material is going to be in Chinese & all their market/Business & News all going to be Chinese why they need some english speaker advise? There is no nothing wrong but it will more be smooth & relevant if some best chinese investor comes & Speak to them about china market rather understanding outside world. This is just my view.
