I've had my glove for 4 years and couldn't close it for shit, I would drop pucks so much. This method worked so well for me, now it faps like a champ. Gonna try it on the ice sometime this week.
he switched out the glove because he didn't want to wait for it to dry and I did it with my glove and it really works I recommend it to any goalie who does not want to drop pucks
If you are hesitant to run water through the glove, which is totally fine to do and this method is great. You can also boil a large pot of water and suspend the glove about a foot over the pot. I use a bungee cord hanging from the cabinet pulls over the stove . I do this before my son has a practice or game this way the glove is not soaked
@hsimp316 Does it ruin the material on it? Before I had an old ccm glove, I don’t really remember which model but someone on my team decided it would be funny to pour cold water from the sink into it and it ruined the inside material of the glove. That’s the biggest reason I’m hesitant.
Is it possible to do this on an already-used glove that isn't fully broken in but is mostly broken in? Or can I really only do this with brand new gloves?
its good old fashion way, but now the best is to not break and take the stiffer glove possible. Some glove cannot even close now, I play with an extra stiff glove. Lundqvist glove dont even close at all. But they is so many way to play the game, cheer, nice video :)
I have few questions: 1: This way dont destroy the glove ? cuz I have a new glove and I afraid to destroy her (water destroy leather) 2:Can I put hot water just from outside ?
I just got a new glove and did this and it's drying right now and it can't make the glove crusty because the crust is from TJ dried left over salt and this works great
So, I did this on a stiff glove I had and it made it open wider and close easier but it doesn’t close all the way, does the model Brian’s G-RETK 6.0 have to do with it or did I do it wrong.
Most plastics only start to soften at temperatures above boiling point, so hot tap water should be fine. However, I have no idea what plastic is used for goalie gloves, so it may affect it slightly differently. If you are worried about the plastic melting, it is most likely an over exaggeration
in technical terms, fuck if I know but I just dont like the whole glove getting hot. just where it needs to be and running water is easier to monitor then tossing it in the stove.
Hey there, nice job with the video...I AM Keeps33 and you did a perfect job of explaining the video. If any of you have any/more questions on this and other goalie related stuff, check out the largest goalie forum on the net- www.Goaliestore.com/bulletinboard !! or google " Keeps33 break in method" and youll find the thread i started years ago on this "method", i have been using this method on my catchers since the early 90s.
Wouldn't the hot water break down the protective materials in the glove that protect your hand? Like the foam? My v6 glove already came broken in, I just want to clean mine, not sure if I should use hot water...
Hey man looks like it works on you and others, I'm away right now but i'm getting new pads ( butterfly ) also getting matching glove and blocker, can you please show how to brake new pads in thanks!
ntfd125 Ok I just got them and I just had a tournament but never used my new pads cause I just got them yesterday but I have a tournament on saturday ( its thursday) and I dont got a home made ice rink and other ways I could practice with new pads? Lately ive been putting shoes on and going down and up to get used to going down and up
Basically do what you're already doing. If you have roller blades I would use them over the shoes. Only other help I can offer is to throw pucks at the face of your pads to soften the pad. It's going to take playing time to really break them in.
I don't doubt the method, but why did you use a different glove for the beginning and ending of the video than the glove you actually ran under the water? Just wondering.
I bet it really does work, I just don't feel comfortable putting tons of hot water into my new glove. It's not that I might think its dirty, I bet it's very clean, it's just a high quality glove that I paid a lot of money for that I don't to take risks of destroying it just to break it in
i usually use a spray bottle and you only wanna do this if your glove blocker feels tight i dont recommend pouring that much water into a 380 dollar glove but this kids got the right idea
usually if its really hot water, just tip it until its cool enough to get your hand in. i never pour on the inside. just on the crease and then open and close it for about 100 times and repeat if needed.
Tried this out but didnt work at all. How long do you keep the hot water flowing inside the glove? Mine is almost as stiff as when I got it. Also dont know what causes it but my v5 glove gets so fucking slippery on the inside that its hard to play with it. Any suggestions how to get better grip in the inside leather?
+Chris Morgante I use one in my old glove and it makes it feel much better. It's also funny when you take off your goal ie glove and reveal the golf one and everybody is like that's the secret to that glove hand. 😂😂

Method works super well I did this to my brand new glove the day before my championship game and it worked super well for the game...we won 😃
Great job, me I wouldn’t because I only would if I was used to it

Worked really really well for me! Thanks!
This really does help thanks man.!!
This works but I've never knew it was Keeps idea. I always poured hot water from the change room taps before I stepped on the ice. Good vid
thank you so much we fun regionals all thanks to this video to help my glove :)
Will it dry to be ready for the next day? Or should I do it when I have nothing on?
i just got a jonathan quick pro return and was wondering if it would be okay to use this on it, its a brand new glove and is a 7600 model
Nice dude, Thanks for the tips!
Just got a new pro glove this works so well so far
yes, i did it to mine three times and this works great
worked for me thanks :) ( Vaughn velocity V5 7190 )
Works so much!!! Thankyou

How long should you be pouring the water into the glove?
is it harder to close a practice palm than a regular glove
Worked great for my ccm eflex glove thanks!
Was your glove also impossible to close when you first got it? Just picked up my eflex and it is just immobile
I have few questions:
1: This way dont destroy the glove ? cuz I have a new glove and I afraid to destroy her (water destroy leather)
2:Can I put hot water just from outside ?
Do you buy all the gear yourself or do your parents get it for you???
what vaughn catcher is the one with the vintage logo?
Ryan, how was that GoPro today? Its Jonathon btw from fair-creek
how long will it take to dry?
Just did it! :) thanks ryan!
I did this 2 times and my glove is perfect. Also it was brand new, but then again I had a CCM so it was not really that stiff too begin with.
What's size glove do you use
I just got a new glove and did this and it's drying right now and it can't make the glove crusty because the crust is from TJ dried left over salt and this works great
Hey Ryan when are you going to make the in the bag video? Sorry to be needy! Lol thanks! :)
wow! im impressed!
The glvoe in the beginning and the end are the same. But the glove you applied the treatment to is a different vaughn. Why did you do that?
Thanks man! it helps!!!
Does it work on the Warrior Ritual?
U think it will work on my bauer one90 glove?
Hey Ryan! Was just wondering what vaughn glove The white and green was. Would be happy if You could answer as Soon as possible!
Rip
Is it safe for a p4 pro palm? Won't it get crusty?
I did it it was successful but im not sheer if it would work on a mission glove (bauer makes it)?
it worked really well on my glove
Wouldn't steaming it be better for the glove?
Works supper good.
Cool method
yo yur glove is suuuuuper nice man
can u tell me what the name of that vaughn glove is?
put olive oil on your taint loosens it up
Nice vid bro! :)
What kind of glove is that?
thank you
in the bag video of next season's gear please!!
Great vid
Can this be repeated if they glove is not broken in as much as I want?
i do that but then it gets crustry and stiffens and i have a p4 is anything diffrent?
helps hot Water ?
what glove is tht?
I tried this with a Bauer X 50 glove and didn't really work. What am doing wrong?
So, I did this on a stiff glove I had and it made it open wider and close easier but it doesn’t close all the way, does the model Brian’s G-RETK 6.0 have to do with it or did I do it wrong.
*G-netic 6.0

Dose not work well with rebok, also lether + water dose not mix, my friend tried it and the lether cracked, 150$ down the drain
dose it work
Would baking it not work just as good? (or better) most newer gloves can be baked
in technical terms, fuck if I know but I just dont like the whole glove getting hot. just where it needs to be and running water is easier to monitor then tossing it in the stove.
I love it
Will this ruin the glove at all
DUDE!!! IT WORKS!!!!

Yes use hot water! It helps for real
+Charles Goetzke No.
You are right. It is a different glove and neither is new. The best way to break it in is use it at practice, throw pucks in it while watching tv.
Just tried this on my v6 glove. Not for the break in, but to clean it. Shit stanks!!
worked for me thanks :) ( Bauer One.7 )
got the same glove as you and worked perfect i don't know why, but mine was very difficult to close
tomorrow i Get the 0ne.5
should i use this tips from here?
Make a video showing your new pads
It worked for me fine
what song
Hey man looks like it works on you and others, I'm away right now but i'm getting new pads ( butterfly ) also getting matching glove and blocker, can you please show how to brake new pads in thanks!
Store your pads upside down or under your kitchen table.
ntfd125
Ok I just got them and I just had a tournament but never used my new pads cause I just got them yesterday but I have a tournament on saturday ( its thursday) and I dont got a home made ice rink and other ways I could practice with new pads? ok thx
Tie them top to bottom really tight works well. Way better than throwing pucks at them in my opinion.
It really does work I did it
do you play for the houston aroes 2:00
It works I try with my new it work alot
Why is the glove at the end of the video different from the one you used the break in method???
because he already broke it in so why do it again
Cool
It helps :)
Just tried it now
Can I use this method with my Bauer reactor 7000 glove?
It's for any glove
yes
Why did u put Radioactive in th background
Riyaz Mohamed why not
I don't doubt the method, but why did you use a different glove for the beginning and ending of the video than the glove you actually ran under the water? Just wondering.
He probably already did the method on the first glove before he made the video and used the second glove to show us.
I bet it really does work, I just don't feel comfortable putting tons of hot water into my new glove. It's not that I might think its dirty, I bet it's very clean, it's just a high quality glove that I paid a lot of money for that I don't to take risks of destroying it just to break it in
can I have a stick lol and the method did work I did it with my new CCM 500 flex
i usually use a spray bottle and you only wanna do this if your glove blocker feels tight i dont recommend pouring that much water into a 380 dollar glove but this kids got the right idea
Whats a golie glove
This can work on normal player gloves aswell
Why did you use two different gloves
why did you change your glove
Should i do this to a vaughn glove?
+Caleb Scherer No. Vaughn uses materials in their glove that melt when they come into contact with any liquid like water or sweat.
bruh does this create mold with water
How long do you drain it underwater
usually if its really hot water, just tip it until its cool enough to get your hand in. i never pour on the inside. just on the crease and then open and close it for about 100 times and repeat if needed.
It takes me days to dry it off
Tried this out but didnt work at all. How long do you keep the hot water flowing inside the glove? Mine is almost as stiff as when I got it. Also dont know what causes it but my v5 glove gets so fucking slippery on the inside that its hard to play with it. Any suggestions how to get better grip in the inside leather?
try wearing a golf glove inside it gives a ton of grip and is super thin and light and won't add bulk to your hand!
Chris Morgante thanks for the tip bro, need to try it out
+Chris Morgante I use one in my old glove and it makes it feel much better. It's also funny when you take off your goal ie glove and reveal the golf one and everybody is like that's the secret to that glove hand. 😂😂
why did you mod your bauer one 95 chesty
Would cold water work?
yes but it would take a little more time. hot water helps loosen the tougher synthetic material quicker.
+Steven Not really. Kind of defeats the point.
Buck you Can sit on them for an hour or so
putting water in to your glove can make the leather get soft and and break it
