Sue Smith and Stephen Warnock discussed the future of Erik ten Hag following Manchester United's 4-3 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup.
Liverpool were minutes away from progressing from the Old Trafford quarter-final on two occasions - leading going into the 87th minute of normal time and again in the 112th minute of extra-time - only for Erik ten Hag's team to conjure up two equalisers and an astonishing winner.
Diallo was sent off for a second bookable offence after his goal celebration to add to the incredible drama, but that was in nobody's thoughts at the final whistle, the United support wild with delight inside the Theatre of Dreams. Jurgen Klopp and his players were in shock.

As a liverpool fan i'm pissed off but fair play to united they wanted it more and their fans were behind them we could have won it a couple of times and they could have won it earlier a couple of times, but united were more clinical infront of goal, gakpo i cant say he lacks confidence but its passion we know anthony lacks confidence but he played with intent. I feared garnacho,Marguire and scott in that united side and they all delivered they are one of the few united players who play with passion somehow i wonder if klopp had not priorised this game by some of his decisions only he knows but fairplay to united

Maybe Man utd wanted it more because of being at home and their players are less tired only playing once a week. @@millny123 tired players are not an excuse we were 5-1 up against sparta in aggregate and klopp still played our best squad and salah played 90 minutes despite us having to play united in 3 days, lord knows why we didn't rest our players especially since it was a home game and his decision to bench bradley arguably our best rb this season and take robo,szobo and salah off while keeping gomez on and playing gakpo I don't know if we kept them on we could have won it in 90, you may say but salah had to be taken off he is fasting and is from injury, why then did he play full 90 on Thursday, thus I think klopp didn't prioritise this game

Ten Hag is rebuilding his 2018-2019 squad with Garnacho, Hojlund, Mainoo and Amad. His young squad can already go toe to toe with Liverpool and they can still improve so much. In 2 years they will be scary if TH brings in more young quality players.

When it was reported he was going to manage UTD, my thoughts were that he does not have the ethos, track record and personality for a team like MU, growth and then consistent wins are the answer to success. This was a good performance but needs to continue for a top four EPL place and possibly a FA Cup win.
this match doesn’t define anything till the end of the season. All I see with this manager is, players that want to showcase their talent and the manager keeps shying them away or punishing them. One thing is certain is that Liverpool era has its days counted.

Man U have no excuses, they have a core of 4 young top talents to build around. Amad, Mainoo, Garnacho & Højlund. Start with getting a good CAM to partner Mainoo in midfield. If you paid £85m 4 Antony, £80m 4 Maguire, you can pay £70-80m for De Jong. Barca wants to sell & he’d be invaluable for these young dudes.
