This song always makes me think of walking my daughter to school at age 6 or 7. We got near the entrance, she was holding my hand, and she said to me,”I hate leaving you”, then she said “bye” and skipped away like it was no big deal. Her senior year of high school she chose to sing this song at her senior recital. I wish I had recording. It was so precious, She is so precious.
My first memory of school was clinging onto my dad's legs when he dropped me off at my first day of kindergarten

Me my sister and my mom watched this movie, both me and my sister started quietly crying and our mom was so confused she asked why we were crying and we said “cause we love you” and then she started sobbing and we all sobbed for a while. Lovely time

I don't know if you all understand the weight of this scene of Donna getting her daughter ready for the wedding. It's not just about marriage, it's about looking back and seeing that yout little girl of yours finally grew up and became the most charming and incredible woman in the world! And, as the song says, you wish you had gone to more places than you planned, some you can do and some you can't and we just don't know why. I'm not a mother, but I'm a middle sister, so I always find myself crying when I see that my girls have grown up, the oldest is even married! So this scene has a lot of weight, both for mothers and daughters and I LOVE how in the second film, Donna appears singing "My love, My life" and shows that she would never leave her daughter behind.

I know that this song is for a mother and daughter, but I had no daughers, I had 3 sons, and the FEELING for ME is the SAME for my 3 sons (who are all grown and now in their mid/late 40s, and my eldest turned 50 in 2023. I STILL can relate to the words in this song, as they fit for me as well for my boys as they grew up and went out on their own. I LOVE this movie and CRY during this song EVERY TIME.

this song just is perfect for this moment in my life. I am going to college in two days and leaving my parents fro the first time. This movie was one of my favorite movies growing up and this just brings me to tears for so many different reasons. (missing life when i would watch this with my mom and remembering that life is going to drastically change for me over the next five years)

Amanda seyfried movies all of them make me cry, she looks beautiful in every aspect, in singing, her skin tone voice, her acting, her crying, in her angry , her happy, i feel like dying seeing her expressions , she sure is an angel
The past almost 2 years of watching my own daughter grow up, this hits hard. I also danced with my mum to this song on my wedding day and yes we both sobbed. To her it was about seeing me grow up and marry the love of my life. It’s Mother’s Day I’m watching mama Mia then as usual this song. I’m crying I see my mom crying in the front yard watching school kids coming home. She said she missed us being that age made her heart hurt. I think back of my daughter her favorite place was in my arms or holding onto my leg cuddling on the couch and I cry. I see my daughter and granddaughter so close and I know some day soon her heart will ache for her little girl that grown.

the second movie ruined me. gave me another level of respect for my mom. having only a solo parent, witnessing meryl/lily james going through 9 months alone and giving birth alone and building a life for herself and her daughter made me see how much good mothers sacrifice for their kids.

My school just had their closing night of Mamma Mia! last night, so this is very coincidental timing lol. I like how one of the most emotional songs is what they uploaded, I'm sad that the show is over now but I'm glad that we were able to have the show in the first place and I am so proud that I got to play Sky. I just really wish i had a woman figure in my life sometimes to guide me, and i just overall want a mom to watch me grow into a young minute. I know my mom loves me but i just cant face her when she changed my life, shes not well and shes mentally not ready, im fine with that, i just wish some things lasted longer, like my time with her.
