January 25 - 27 2025. This is a three day Solo Backcountry Winter Camping trip in Algonquin Park. Thank you for watching, liking, commenting, and subscribing.
That tent looked very cozy. As usual, your camera work was excellent; nobody does slow motion better than you. I laughed at how you had the "good sense to bring nothing to drink." 😂 I appreciate the work you put into your videos. You almost made me want to get off my nice warm couch and do some winter camping. 😊👍
Thanks for the kind words Daryl! Glad to hear that you enjoyed the video. That morning, I really was not expecting to be out filming for as long as I was - otherwise I would have brought food and drink. However, since the light was so great, I ended up being out much longer than anticipated. As always, thank you for your comments and feedback! Cheers!
No problem Mary! Glad that you were able to join vicariously. Glad to hear that you enjoyed. Thank you for coming along and for watching and commenting!
I certainly did. I prefer to tow an extra sled in order to keep the load low and long - otherwise the sleds can get top heavy and tippy. I hope you are able to make it out for your trip soon. Cheers!
Nice winter camp ! Your train of sleds caught my eyes , pretty interesting set up for travelling in open terrain . Subbing to your channel to see more winter adventures
Yes... the train of sleds. It is a system that works for me. I would rather keep the load low and long rather than shorter and top heavy. Glad that you enjoyed. Thanks for watching and subbing! Cheers!
Just found your channel. Love the style of your videos. I’m in the same area as you. And love our beck of the woods. Question what camera/ phone are you using. Great quality 👍
Glad to hear! Thank you. I appreciate the feedback. To answer your question, I shoot with a Sony full frame mirrorless camera in an S-Log format. Hope that helps. Cheers!
that tent looks nice and functional, can you give us the details on it, pro and cons. I'm looking at a different set up for my camp, and your system looks like a quick set up.
This is a 'Snowtrekker' Tent. It is about 15 years old - but they make a similar model today called, I believe, the Short wall EXP. They are great tents with no real 'cons'. I use a kni-co stove inside. Both have served me very well over the years. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Kudos to you brother! You got a sweet system there …but I just can’t get sold on -17 at night. Going to settle with my winter day hikes instead. Thanks for the adventure 🙏
Thanks Kawartha. True, cold temps can be challenging - but I will take the cold over +/- zero degrees. This was a very 'dry-cold' experience - which was perfect for me. As always, thanks for watching and commenting! Cheers!
Thanks Puddlejumper! Glad you enjoyed. There is no winter fishing allowed in Algonquin Park - but filming keeps me busy enough anyway. BTW; I've got your Churchill trip in the queue. The 'closest' I have been to there was Moosonee. Cheers!

I think I'd rather watch you enjoy winter camping than doing it myself! Thanks for brining us along. Beautiful photography of snow on branches!
