That makes me so happy to hear!!! Yes its very very small!! but the tips and tricks would work in any home! I'm naturally quite untidy so I've found over the years that the more organised I am, the easier it is to keep tidy! thank you for you lovely feedback :)
Your tiny apartment is awesome!!! I love it, so well organized and everything in its place! Thank you so much for making a video of your tiny apartment for us to see!!! Keep healthy and safe during this pandemic!
Your small space reminds me of when I first moved out of home, I lived in a room for a several months than into this tiny self contained studio in Marrickville. I didn't have much $$ but somehow made the space my own. It was quite spacious had 2 large rooms one for kitchen one for living/bedroom and a small bathroom - I loved that space.
It's lovely, I'm doing research for a micro camper and your ideas are spot on! Thank you for all the great storage tips, they will be very helpful in my build!
Thank you so much Jamie!!! Glad I could be of assistance & best of luck with the build!!! I have a few more detailed IGTV vids I did for insta that might be helpful too! @thistinyspace
It is amazing what you have done with such a tiny space. It is very well organised, and I loved your presentation style. I hope you don’t have to pay a small fortune in rent each month for living in it, but even micro-apartments in the major cities seems to be incredibly expensive these days,. Thanks for the video
Thank you so much Luke! Yes rent in Sydney is crazy high & it really cost more than it should for what it is, but what can ya do!! Its the cheapest I could find that was totally self contained, but yes, still over priced (I think anyway) for what it is. Thank you for your lovely compliments!! :)
I didn't see anything on which to use those pans. I'm guessing she has one of those single burners (i.e "hot plate"). The slide out counter top above fridge is my favorite part! That's so clever!
Hi Kim, I have an IKEA induction hotplate (instead of a stove top) which tucks in under the sink perfectly and a mini air-fryer (which I use instead of an oven) which I keep in the cupboard (which is why you don't see them!} Because the entire countertop space is less than 100cm INCLUDING the sink, I like to keep the space clear & useable when I'm not cooking, so it looks like I don't have cooking appliances, but I do! Thanks for your lovely compliments about my homemade pop out bench, I was pretty pleased with myself!:
Thank you! I'm a firm believer that your space should work for you, not the other way around, no matter how compact! And I put this space through it's paces big time!!!!
Thanks Diana, you may not have noticed but I have a small very shallow circular shelving unit over the toilet where I keep my toiletries (the room is too small for standard hard corner open shelving), fresh towels live rolled up inside a shoe hanger which hangs on the back of the door. I've found they take up less space & are less cluttered looking this way, the shoe holder also holds spare toilet paper, my hair straightener & additional toiletries like body moisturiser, cotton wool etc. Small items live in brass flower pots which sit on round shelves by the sink , but you may not have spotted them because they blend in! I've found pots take up less space than traditional baskets :)
You know, I have NO idea why I didn't film it!!! I LOVED it out there!!! I just recently moved out but I think I featured it once on IGTV for Insta so I'll try post it here!! Thanks so much for your lovely comments :)
This Tiny Space New subbie here. Jedda I’m curious with all your moves do you work from home? Your job allows for the flexibility of moving so often? If so, I’d love to see how you do this in your tiny home. Thank you, getting inspired 💗
@@elianah8803 Hi Elianah, Lol, I only moved 3 minutes down the street!! Hello from Canada! Wow, great job organizing your tiny studio apartment. I love that you have a place for shoes, lol. I can see what looks like a balcony, so you can have some fresh air and have a living space there as well .A Convection Oven on the countertop would really help for cooking/baking. I have a standard electric stove with oven but I use my Convection Oven more than the big one. Saves on hydro too. Thank you for the lovely tour! Stay safe!
Hello Canada!!! Yes the balcony is terrific! I have plants, a rug, fairy lights & a huge mirror out there so it's a lovely spot, I have an induction hotplate instead of a stove top which tucks in under the sink perfectly and a mini air-fryer which I use instead of an oven, which I keep in the cupboard in the hall. (which is why you don't see them!} Because the entire countertop space is less than 100cm INCLUDING the sink, I like to keep the space clear & useable when I'm not cooking. Thank you so much for your lovely comments!!! Very kind and sweet of you!!! Stay healthy :)
I really enjoyed watching this video! I'm more motivated now to make the most of our apartment here in Sydney now that we've decided not to move to a bigger place.
oh my goodness your home is gorgeous!! You have some amazing storage solutions. Do you also have a balcony? I would live there in a heartbeat. I would have a toaster oven and an induction plate and I would be set! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. Oh, even your coats and bag on the front door goes with everything!! haha Adorable. (EDIT: I'm amazed too how many shoes/belts/clothes you manage to have in your space. well done!)
Thank you so much! You're so kind! And yes you're right, that's all you actually need! Under the sink I have an induction hotplate that tucks in nicely behind the chopping board & under my trousers is my baby airfryer, which kind of does the same as a toaster oven but is smaller & easier to store. Yes I have a great little balcony, lots of pictures of it on my insta @thistinyspace & I'd be lost without it!!! I LOVE IT! Thanks so much again, much appreciate your lovely words :)
@@thistinyspace I will check out your Instagram. I've heard about the airfyer, I should check it out. My husband and I are retiring in 30 months!! (not that I'm counting, lol) but we want to move back to Vancouver Island, BC Canada and build a tiny house. :) Thanks for the response and I will now go to Instagram. haha
Oh I'm sooooo jealous! I would be counting down too!!! Tip re the air fryer, despite the infomercials, it's NOTHING like a deep fat fryer. It's literally just a tiny oven, which is perfect for tiny spaces!
I love Nuxe oil too! And it looks beautiful on a display shelf. Where do you buy those nice bottles for your beauty products? And the label maker? I really want to try it in my bathroom too. Your bathroom is lovely.
Ah thanks so much Grace!!! isn't Nuxe the best!! the smell...so good. The products I use most are by a company called Trilogy and the packaging is lovely, so what you see on the shelf is mainly used products, that once they run out, I just wash and reuse the bottle / jar/ tub. I'm not sure where you live but we have a store in Sydney called Diaso and they sell similar bottles. The label maker I use is from Dymo, you want the one that is mechanical (ie not battery operated) if you google "Dymo Embossing Label maker" it will come up. I ordered mine online & a few of the letters didn't work, so if you can, buy it in a store, that way you can return it easier if there are any issues! I have a more detailed vid I made for IGTV for insta about the bathroom if you're on the gram that you might find useful! :)
I've lived 13 years in a 12 sqm apartment in Copenhagen and now got a 48 sqm apartment about 400 m down the same road. Every day I pass my old place on my bike and miss it. The sounds through the walls (lousy insolation), the neighbors (shared common kitchen), the messy hallways (shifting cleaning ladies). Everything. I only had 1 room and a bathroom in the 12 sqm one but now I have a kitchen, a bathroom, a hallway, a bedroom, and a living room. But only furniture for the bedroom and no kitchen gear and I just cannot feel at home. I know it's a luxury problem but I feel almost agoraphobic. The living room is empty and it roars when walking through it. We Danes love our cozy vibes and smaller living spaces and although 12 sqm is on the very smaller side, it never felt too small for me.
I TOTALLY understand!! I also recently moved to a bigger place & I find myself looking at pictures on my Instagram wistfully. It's amazing how you adjust to a smaller space & it was your home for a very long time... it will take time to adjust to your bigger space but you'll get there & one day it will feel like home too & hygge will be restored. Best of luck!
Not at all! it's $230 per week and that includes all bill and utilities, it's in Camperdown (Inner West) so super close to loads of great parks, restaurants & transport. Thanks for watching! :)
You are so organized and your place is warm cozy and inviting 💯💜🌟💜💯 How much do the studios run per month? Does the rent include water and electricity?
Yes! I couldn't agree more!!! It's a total deal breaker for me, I couldn't live anywhere that didn't have some sort of outdoor space, as you say it's worth far more than having a larger internal space, its good for the soul!. thank you for the lovely compliments 😊
Your apartment is so cute and organised. I love small spaces, i was wondering, How does one come across a micro-apartment in Sydney?? I have been searching but have yet to come across any.
So sorry for the very late reply!!! I used the website RealEstate.com.au to be honest I wasn't looking specifically for a micro studio, I just put in what I could afford & this was one of the very few options in my price range. It's on Parramatta road in Camperdown. Hope this helps & good luck! 🍀
Wow! Really impressed with what you did with such a long and narrow space. Have seen similarly sized US apartments, but some people reject because they dont know what to do. BUT no toilet is a deal breaker. Lol.
I live in about 190sqft and its the tiniest and best home i lived in. It´s more relaxed not having so much stuff and also not having to worry about keeping your whole house tidy..since its just a quick clean lol. And because it´s small, it´s easier to keep organised. I live there with 3!! dogs.
Someone once said to me "how could you possibly live there" & my response was, I don't. I live in one of the greatest cities in the world, I "live" out there. I also grew to love the cosiness in winter, which you'll no doubt understand!. I believe people really don't need that much space as long as it's well designed. I personally have never understood the concept of paying for excess space you don't actually use!!
@@thistinyspace Oh yes agree. When i am looking for a new appartment, they never want to rent the small ones to me, because of my dogs. But even when i lived in a bigger home, the dogs are where i am, they are not running around through the house or need a spare bedroom haha. All they need is nice long walks and mental stimulation, so inside they are just relaxing. Plus i am lucky i have a nice backyard where we hang out when the weather is nice. I was glad i could rent this tiny place, i love it. A big space stresses me out, i just want a little cosy place. The documentary Minimalism on Netflix is also interesting to watch, if you havent already.
yes its VERY like a truck! I always use that as my description! it's like living in a moving truck, same dimensions more or less, thank you for the lovely comments, don't mind mentioning the rent at all, I just didn't think of it! it's $230 Australian dollars a week and that includes all bills and utilities & it's in the heart of the Inner West (which is a buzzy part of Sydney) is on a major transport route and has a beautiful park one block away . :)
Hello, dear I love your apartment, you are very clever at making every space your own, My favourite is the space until the cabinet, would you mind explaining how you built, because that would every helpful in my kitchen as well, lovely tutorial. Thanks a lots and best wishes!! ❤
Thank you! It's just a set of drawer runners attracted to a piece of IKEA counter top I had cut to size and then screwed into the cabinet carcass. It's the best thing & all tiny spaces should have one!!!
Beautifully decorated and organised, you can tell a lot of thought went into this. I was just wondering how do you use your pots and pans if you don't have a stove top?
Thanks so much! I have a plug in induction stove top that slides in under the sink when I'm not using it. I have lots of mini tours that show what's in the cupboards, I must post them.. Thanks for the reminder! 😃
Your Sydney Apartment is the best "Paris" apartment. It goes to prove that 450 sq ft is not small at all. I wish I knew which suburb is your beautiful place in?
I'm curious about your wardrobe (because I've been working on a capsule for myself). How many pants, shirts, sweaters, shoes do you have? What was most obviously important to you as you decided what you could keep in your closet? If you want to share.
Hi Eleanor, I kept all my clothes & got rid of nothing which was a very deliberate personal choice! all the other flats in the building use the closet closest to the kitchen as a pantry for storing cooking equipment , crockery & dried/ tinned food but I didn't want to get rid of any of my clothes so I worked hard at absorbing those things else where in the studio so I could use that closet for clothes. I moved shelves around & fitted a rail so I could double the internal space & used vac pac bags for off season stuff in storage boxes at the the top. Crammed into the entire closet is about 30 pairs of pants, 60 tops/ tshirts & 80 coats/dresses, about 8 jumpers and A LOT of underwear!! I did a few more detailed IGTV videos for insta which you might find useful @thistinyspace. Good luck with your new efficient capsule wardrobe!
It was my favourite too!! My next door neighbour was really violent & aggressive & would scream obscenities at me if I ever made noise when I was on the balcony & I just wasn't up for dealing with him that day!! I have loads of pictures of it on my instagram though, it was such a gorgeous little space
Thanks so much! I got them in IKEA about a year ago but I think they were a limited release because I haven't seen them in a while. They're really great though & PERFECT for tight corners/ limited space (or for indoor plants). They made a HUGE difference to the usability of the bathroom so if you see them, I highly recommend them!

Haahaaaa!!!! I LOVE that!!!! Thanks so much Eleanor! that comment has made me laugh & has made my day!!! Well spotted eldest son! :) x
You did a great job! I’m way to claustrophobic for that but all your little tricks to add storage will help even in my 1100 sq foot apartment.
That makes me so happy to hear!!! Yes its very very small!! but the tips and tricks would work in any home! I'm naturally quite untidy so I've found over the years that the more organised I am, the easier it is to keep tidy! thank you for you lovely feedback :)
Your tiny home is absolutely lovely! AND… it’s SO well organized and tidy! Great job!
Thank you so much! Updated mini / more detailed videos coming this way over the next few weeks!

Great ideas for storage. I love the round shelves. They look like floating shelves. Where did you buy them?
You are truly inspirational! 💜
Thanks so much! I love them! I got them in ikea! They're called: sammanhang display shelf
This is by far the best and most stylish micro apartment I've seen, amazing job.
Ahhh! Thank you !! 🥰🥰🥰

Awh thank you Dom!!! That's made my day!!! Hope you stay safe too!
You did a nice job with what little space you have.
Thanks so much Charlie! it was a challenge for sure!!!
Making it feel like home is the key!
Very tiny but beautiful and updated. Lucky lady 👑
Thank you so much Lindy! very nice of you to say :)
It's lovely, I'm doing research for a micro camper and your ideas are spot on! Thank you for all the great storage tips, they will be very helpful in my build!

Thank you so much Kelly! thats very sweet of you to say :)
Oh yeah it’s crazy studios in Toronto or NY is the same as the 1 bedroom just because of the demand. So sad
I like how you managed to fit everything in there. What a genius way to save space hahahhaha. Love it.
Thank you Marckus! it was quite the battle of trial and error!! thanks so much for watching and for you lovely comment :)
Wow, 12 square metres! You've really made the most of every inch.
Thank you! I'm a firm believer that your space should work for you, not the other way around, no matter how compact! And I put this space through it's paces big time!!!!
Wow you’ve done an amazing job utilizing all the space you have 👍 apartment looks amazing
Thank you so much! That's very sweet of you 😊
Try rolling towels on open shelving over the back of the toilet. Store small items in baskets on the shelving as well.

I have plants, a rug, fairy lights & a huge mirror out there so it's a lovely spot, I have an induction hotplate instead of a stove top which tucks in under the sink perfectly and a mini air-fryer which I use instead of an oven, which I keep in the cupboard in the hall. oh my goodness your home is gorgeous!!

I love your space!
Thanks so much!!
@@thistinyspace Restoring hygge is the utmost priority in these times! Thank you.
Thx for the info, if it's not too intrusive how much rent do u pay and what suburb in Sydney is this?
Not at all! it's $230 per week and that includes all bill and utilities, it's in Camperdown (Inner West) so super close to loads of great parks, restaurants & transport. Thanks for watching! :)
I like the extra counter space drawer.
Thank you, its very useful
You are so organized and your place is warm cozy and inviting 💯💜🌟💜💯 How much do the studios run per month? Does the rent include water and electricity?
Thanks so much Tami! My rent was $230 a week (which is a lot I think for the size!) But it was super central & included all bills except wifi
Your home is lovely an I don't know what your profession is but you should be a organization expert
Ah thanks Becca! That's a lovely compliment 😊
i enjoyed this tour!
Thanks so much! Delighted to hear that!
But you have a porch/terrace too, rt? To me that's worth far more than a larger apt. Your apt is a sweet place. Thanks!
Yes! I couldn't agree more!!! It's a total deal breaker for me, I couldn't live anywhere that didn't have some sort of outdoor space, as you say it's worth far more than having a larger internal space, its good for the soul!. thank you for the lovely compliments 😊
Hello NM, just wanted to let you know I finally posted the missing balcony tour! It's up now if you wanted to see what it was like 😉
Your apartment is so cute and organised.
Lol.
Thank you!! I agree, no toilet would be a deal breaker for me too! That would be weird / gross & super inconvenient!
@@JustJulesO the puppies are like the peoples! they want to have fun outside & then be cosy & chill! 🐶

yes its VERY like a truck! :)
Great use of space!!

Great little space. Is that a balcony as well? That would be my favourite thing if it is, I wonder why you didn’t show it.
