Seriously one of the best conversations I’ve heard on singleness. Real talk. Not coddling our emotions in it, not encouraging the focus on it, but drop it. I love it! In my mid 40s, never married and ohhhh, was I a mess for so many years - got massive deliverance and started really renewing my mind, and though I still desire marriage, I no longer “need” it. I started to understand having a desire does not equal being in lack, and I was not designed to only ask God for a husband and children. There’s so much more He put in every one of us to pursue. Oh, I am so grateful for this conversation and hope more with have it everywhere!
Honestly the spirit of I desire marriage but don't need it to "fix or furfill" is one even us married folks have to cultivate. This convo was convicting and encouraging for me too. Lots of young kids get married in the church thinking it will furfill or fix things. My husband sadly felt that way when we got married (because his pastor basically told him, just get married quickly 🙄🥴). Thankfully God really woke him up to the problem but we have normalised using one another in this area. Which isn't OK. We're all called to self control and honor. As a married woman in her 30s I'm so inspired by and proud of my single sisters in Jesus.

When we want to get at people for the way they preach the gospel, we put the Lord’s love and His wisdom in a box. Coming off of this year’s corporate fast with my church, the Lord showed me how I’ve been putting Him in a box. We need to remember that His love is vast, and His wisdom is infinite! 🙌🏼
