On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

It means that the Mig 21 can also challenge and destroy the F22 in dogfight. Really, it's not a plane. It's a pilot.
@@heatblast876 You forgot that the F-22 can snipe that Mig-21 from afar. For most of the time, it mostly 76% plane, 24% pilot. Can the F-4E Phantom take on a Mig-29 Fulcrum from afar? No it can't. Can it pose a threat below 15,000 feet? Yeah, it can. However who wouldn't squeeze down the trigger from afar but instead go and take a greater risk by going into a dogfight? Also, your quote of saying "it's not a plane. It's a pilot.", it is actually "it's not the plane. It's the pilot."

I guess only user has made the limitation. But, KF-21 is supposed to be actually the most dog fighter designed. Just few months KF-21 passed the test for high angle flying and low speed flying. angle is almost the same as F-22, or 70 degree angle. other flighters are less than 60 degree angle. So, I guess the programmer makes the same flying ability as F-35's.
You know the rules - now you need to fly it and do a bvr as well.

Why? You let the other two go at it, then you take on the survivor.
That boiled down to pilot skill. Neither plane seemed to hold much of an advantage and your opponent seemed to not be very skilled in the rate fight

Maybe because of the kf-21 module’s aerodynamic capabilities? It is never shown to public so far as i know

The KF-21 being smaller always made me see it as a baby raptor. If you're going to imitate why not go for the top dog
The suspicion is that they're intending to wait for a 5th gen version so that they can fulfill their obligation to Indonesia with the lower spec blocks first.

This was my favorite dogfight video you've made, the stakes felt so high, both planes felt nearly equal, it was such a good fight. Especially because alot of this showcased pilot skill and it was awesome to see how you guys adapted to each others mistakes, my favorite df video ever, I'd love to see this with Fox 2's.

It's not ment to be a dogfighter as you mentioned, but they both have same engines, and even very similar wing area.

Watching this it seemed as thought the pilot wasn't as familiar with that platform as they could have been, and...that the KF-21 seemed a little under powered compared to the J-11. Fun to watch, long dogfights. Thanks for this.
Looking at specs, the Boramae should have a very slight edge in TWR, though that might change at Max Takeoff Weight. Performance was almost certainly due to unfamiliarity with the platform. The fight certainly made it seem that way.

The KF-21 in terms of design is far superior to the F-35 IMO. Implementation and tech is another conversation entirely.
It sounds like 'mae' from 'made' (past tense of make). Bo-ra-mae means a hawk that was trained for hunting from less than 1 year old. Indonesian government was supposed to pay a partial development budget, but they only paid 10% of what expected which is drastically less than anticipated.. but this development is still ongoing in a good shape fortunately. Thanks for the video! I felt sad that mobility seems not better, but the warzone is not only dogfight so I would take as relief for me 😢
dcs and modders are using only unclassified information. This isn't actual 1:1 replications of what these jets can do. And it comes down to pilot skill
@@MTEditz I'd say the performance of the J-11 is probably pretty close to the actual Su-27, which is very well known (Unless they've gotten engine upgrades since). The KF-21 is still highly classified, I'd say that the flight model in DCS seems to be a mix of the F-22 and F-35, and that gap in performance compared to the J-11 is almost certainly because the pilot is still unfamiliar with it. The fight was a lot closer in the second round, so it seemed like he was learning on the spot.
