"Consider how hard it is to change yourself and you'll understand what little chance you have in trying to change others." Jacob M. Braude

I think one of the most effective ways of changing or influencing others is just by being your authentic self. By choosing to show up and be present, people in your sphere will notice how you operate and that will influence how they operate. If you operate at a high level, it will hopefully offer them an example of how they can be better too.

I agree, self-awareness and empathy are essential. Meaningful change begins with oneself, particularly in terms of behavior and mindset. My motivation to change my "behavior" and "habits" has always stemmed from a desire to be a better person, both for my own growth and to positively impact others. Since I was young (now almost 64), I’ve used motivational books, taken positive steps in my studies and career, journaled, reflected on the past, and worked to improve relationships with family and friends. However, at my core, I believe I have remained the same person and I feel happy with that. So the idea of changing yourself or others is fundamentally flawed.
On a professional level, factors like trust, competency, and consistency are key in motivating change in others behavior. Equally important is acknowledging the environment, human nature and habits that may lie beyond our control. So, I believe when we talk about change we refer to change of behavior, not change of character, and is definitely possible.

Someone has to want to change. In answer to your question - no you cannot change to your intro question. You can never change someone else. Even if they ask you to. You can help them to change themselves but it's always an inside job.

If people truly want to change, they can change themselves.
However, people can change themselves with the help of others as well. 🧐🤔🙏🏼

I have been teaching a group of teenage students for more than a year now, and they lack too much discipline. I tried all ways and tools that i could afford. But in vain.
How can I make a change while on the other side there is social media, foreign values seeping through the Internet..absent parents..bad company..etc
    Conclusion: changing others is impossible.

We can't change them but we can be compassionate and listen to who they are not just what they are saying. A space needs to be created where they can be themselves and show them the world where change is important and inevitable

@@ShaktiWomaanKindly, this is not true for EVERY MIND. The broad brush approach is flawed on both edges. Instead encourage faster learning for MINDS who CHOOSE to CHANGE - and encourage CONSISTENT repetition - for minds that REFUSE CHANGE. 🙏🙂‍↕️🙏

As a teacher of CODE - I know this conclusion well. However a flaw can be seen - for the few minds WHO CHOOSE to CHANGE! You already give up - before they arrive? Never notice their longing eyes - after ROTE rejection? This static cynicism (we share) fits definition of- NOT CHANGING! Do it anyway - give every mind a CHANCE - and should U fine ONE SPARK - FEED it ur highest BRILLIANCE. ✨⭐✨🏆

Changing others/the world sounds pithy and noble, but its very misguided assuming we know enough about someone (or ourselves) to have the knowledge, sensitivity, insights, etc. necessary to do something so big as to change someone. Its certainly possible, but overwhelmingly unlikely to succeed or even come from the "right" place to do so.
9 times out of 10 (frequently the ratio is even worse) we can't change others, and its a total waste of time trying to do so. They will also resent us for pointing our their "flaws" regardless of intention.
We're far better off trying to improve ourselves and just control what we can, which is ourselves.
