Presenter and environmentalist Chris Packham meets autistic people who are all at a key point in their lives. Packham, who has autism spectrum disorder, learns about the ways they sense and interact with the world. He will also introduce them to people who may be able to answer questions about their particular experiences, and helps them to express themselves creatively.

Neighborhoods filled with mowers, blowers, trimmers, jacked up cars, etc. SO MUCH NOISE!!!!!!
All those things feel like an assault on the senses. But it's not because we're "too sensitive". Those things and their associated sounds aren't normal or healthy. They've actually found that all that racket gives birds the equivalent of PTSD, so it's not just us. Sometimes I wonder if we don't just sense the noise, but also all the destruction of the natural world and wildlife that goes along with it. I know that's a big part of what makes it painful for me, in addition to just being way too loud.
Interesting. I am on the autism spectrum but was diagnosed when I was just about 50 years old. I lived my life without realizing I viewed things a bit differently than others.
However, the captured experience of seeing many aspects of forestry when enjoying a wooded area is only experienced by me when I enter a new space. I never realized I noticed patterns of floors and walls and the various color associations until I learned of my autistic mind. That knowledge helped me understand issues that caused misunderstood internal stress I had learned to ignore many years ago.
Interesting show. I hope I can view it.❤
Same here. At 50!! It made a lot of sense. 😊
I do too! Hope to see full episodes soon.
