This song makes the constant retries because of Kazuya's EFFING HYPER RUSH COMBOS totally worth it. His True Devil form had a few annoying attacks but for some reason he was even harder as a normal human.
Ironically, Heihachi hated Kazuya and Jin for being devils even though he turned them into monsters, but Reina turned herself into a devil all by herself
It's an interesting thing to see because Kaz/Jin's hatred for Heihachi put them on their respective paths, where as Reina's LOVE for Heihachi put her on hers
@@kikook222 Honestly, I thought Heihachi was just lying about the whole "I had to see if he had the devil gene" thing, because he wanted to seem like a hero to the masses
Despite how much Kazuya hated Heihachi; he gave him his foundation as a martial artist. And through his blood he gained that Mishima grit that the family is famously known for. Unfortunately for Kazuya, Jin had something greater to fight for: his friends, family honor (The Kazama Clan's name), and peace for the world. Kazuya always fought for himself, so when the chips were truly down he couldn't rely on an inner strength that Jin acquired.
My take- Kazuya in previous installments lacked the same thing Jin lacks early on in tekken 8. Strong conviction. Despite revenge being his fuel he always subconciously saw himself inferior to his father, which made him weaker. When he finally got his revenge it wasnt an usual "revenge is bad because it doesnt fix anything", no, it convinced Kazuya that he's superior and reinforced his convictions, control over devil powers and the main rule of mishima karate. Jin in tekken 6-8 wants to die, he sees no value in his own life aside living to free the world of the devil gene. That is not a strong enough conviction to defeat Kazuya. He also saw devil gene as a curse and didnt try to understand it better like his father. Kazuya even states that Jin working together with his devil side would be strong enough to defeat Kazuya with devil submitted to him (not true devil). Love tekken 8 story, finally something with more depth than before, even if it gets anime as hell at times (in a bad way, although quite cinematic)
@@miqvPLThat got me thinking... since they established that the devil gene is tied to one's desire... is that ultimately why Kazumi died to Heihachi? Did she really love Heihachi? Or was it all a ploy? I mean, one T7 cinematic seemed to tell that their love was real but ultimately she decided he's gotta die. Now in the T7 story, Kazumi only seemed to go for the kill after Heihachi took control of the Zaibatsu from Jinpachi, maybe that's what convinced her "a'ight, this family shit ain't working, plan B = murder"
@@scarletpsychowolf3578 i think the love was real but she suffered some kind of a split personality disorder that developed with her love for the man. Plus what you said, she noticed his desires for power and control were stronger than love
@@scarletpsychowolf3578 She did love him, that's why she died. Her desire to kill him was gone, which led to her losing control of her Devil side due to fighting against it, that's why it acted like a split personality like Devil Jin did up til that moment in 8 where Jin realized he needed to stop fighting it, it's a part of him and not evil or a curse. The way I see it is the Devil has the same personality traits as it's host, and only wishes to act on it's hosts desires as well as protect the host, however if the host is clouded by conflicting emotions it will have a negative impact on Devil which is why they seem to have a different personality. Devil Jin was effected by Jin's anger and hatred and thus when he took control to protect Jin he could only do it in a berserk way. In Kazumi's case it seems like her love conflicted with her desire and caused her Devil to take over to protect the host (and complete the mission) but in a weakened state. That's why Kazuya and Devil were so in sync because his desire's are entirely evil and selfish and he's killed any positive emotions he had, so it was easy for him to have control. No conflicting emotions.
@@AresSG @AresSG Oooh, glad to see someone look deeply into the devil gene post-T8. Yeah, they were pretty on-sync, aside from T4 where Kazuya seemingly "kills" or completely dominates his devil persona. Which led me to another thing, it really is all Heihachi's fault. In trying to get rid of the devil gene, his actions only end up causing it and painting a huge target on his back. And because neither Kaz nor Jin are bears, he just went "fuck them kids"
I'm seeing a distinct lack of people mentioning that the guy who sang this was also a prominent singer for Disney Channel shows, and sang many songs from Phineas and Ferb.
