In addition to presenting a possible second romantic option for Makoto, since the novel is from her perspective, and shows that she has a crush on Makoto. I understand that you don't have much importance for her, it's a novel that isn't very well known and it's not Canon either. But it's the only way to meet the character outside of the canon game.
Its not her fault she is the way she is, but she still treats everyone like shit and doesn't know her own limits. Like, I understand why, but she is inherently unlikable.

They are characters who are at first hated, but, they end up, through character development, ending up overcoming/compensating/redeeming themselves (Byakuya ends up learning that collaborating with his fellow classmates is better than being the lone wolf gigachad he thought he was, Toko apparently redeemed herself through UDG (havent played it), Saionji kinda did, but got killed too early for it to matter that much, and Kokichi's true self made us see why he was and acted the way he did). Tenko's character development, however, is much more subtle. After the first two cases (in which women were the ones who killed a male) and maybe her FTE, saw how Shuichi is absolutely not a "degenerate male", and how he is probably, along with her master, the only boys she can put her trust in. As such, when she sees Shuichi feeling down, she tries her best to cheer him up, even though he is a "degenerate male". During her talk with Shuichi, she doesn't even mention gender, because she knows she can trust him fully. Concluding my absolute beehemoth of an argument, I would like to say that because of this, Tenko's character is severely underappreciated, because she is much much more than the raging feminist she seems to be. Having said that, she is horribly written in some events of DS:USC, for instance, the event with Chihiro and Mondo. Again, I get why people hate her character and even I hate her when she is written superficially. I would have really liked if she had more time where she is shown to be such a sweetheart. I really wish more people appreciated her a bit more, although I understand why the general consensus on her is the way it is.
Honestly, I dislike her because of how she unveils the double standards that exist within the fandom (on top of reminding me uncomfortably of some irl misandrists I know personally). If it was a male character who hated women, and stalked their person of interest & made them uncomfortable, you can bet they'd be near-unanimously hated. Honestly I just liked Korekiyo's writing more. We can go on for hours about the whole incest thing but, with all of the implications of him being a victim of his sister's manipulativeness, it's hard for me to hate him. Though I understand why people would think otherwise. Miu on the other hand didn't really stand out to me at all. She just kinda felt like a punchline and nothing more, which could work but I her case it felt played out. It's the same reason why I don't care for Teruteru and think Ibuki is only good. It's just that their brand of humor wears out for me at some point. Still love Ibuki though.

Okay, but I feel like I need to point this out. I feel like most people in chapter 2 (Not counting the victims of THH or SDR2) are severely underrated or only known for their most common ships. This might not apply much to Kirumi or Ryoma, maybe even Chihiro to an extent, but it does happen to the rest of the characters which upsets me as to how they could've developed during the killing game. Allow me to take Peko as an example to show you my POV. (Spoilers from now on! You may watch at your own risk.) Let's imagine that Fuyuhiko had actually killed Mahiru in Chapter 2. Peko wouldn't be around to see how it all planned out on Fuyuhiko's side and when he was revealed as the culprit (The crime scene would have a different aspect but would still try to frame Hiyoko) and got executed, Peko would most certainly try to throw her life away, even with her classmates watching. But let's also say that she would just decide to not do this to herself in a chapter 3 FTE. Throughout the game, Hajime and the others could help Peo see that she never needed to see herself as a tool and live life like a normal person. Unfortunately, Danganronpa's plot was already planned and that wasn't changed. It's also situations ike these in Chapter 2 that makes me enjoy the Blackeneds as a whole. Their FTE's were actually very interesting and really good to watch and that's one of the reasons why all characters in Ch.2 really make me enjoy and pity them as a whole. Even if I do find the blackeneds to be very interesting as a whole. Yes, it applies to the 3 of them, no I do not take criticism of people trying to make me not like the characters because of what they did to their victims. But this is just my opinion! If you don't like it but respect it, I'm perfectly fine with it!
