Driving to work I passed Peaches record shop with the sign saying Robert Fripp today at 4:00. I didn’t make it to work! A wonderful spontaneous event I will never forget.
Discovering the realms of Frippertronics is always a great intellectual pleasure; it deserves the finest preservation, just like any other state-of-the-art craft.
I met Robert at Peaches Records in Fort Lauderdale,, FL. He had his Revoxes and gave a gorgeous master class in looping. I had been using modified echoplexes and later Roland Chorus Echos to perform live for some time. He was touring support for No Pussyfooting and it was a surprisingly large audience that showed up, easily a couple hundred. It was about a year after seeing Larks Tongues in Aspic performed brilliantly in West Palm Beach, FL.
I never thought I'd hear the show I attended at the Roxy in L.A., but DGM had it. The lecture sections were so funny* and insightful that I remember most of that, but couldn't remember 97% of the music that night. I'm never even tempted to tape a show because it ruins my attention in the moment, but my memory does decay over time, and I am thankful there is some record; & I particularly like that the 7/8-headed Crimson recorded every show so I didn't have to worry about recall so much. * someone asked him how much he practiced and RF replied with the full version of the Hot Lips Moreno story
Apppreciated Mr. Fripp, tell me that you keep the tapes of the concerts. I had understood that of the two Revox the first was in recording mode and the second was playing back what had been recorded in those moments. And in the video I thought I understood, with my English from spending the holidays in Ramsgate, that there were previously created loops. Whaterver the case, what a great idea, it produced melodies that captivated me when I was eleven y.o. Thank you so much for creating it.
Dear @a-beto, We do have the original 1/4" tapes that Robert recorded in the archive. These Canadian shows are on DGMLive starting here www.dgmlive.com/tour-dates/1402?year=1979&liveshow=on. All of the loops that we have in the archive are on the box set Exposures, here, burningshed.com/robert-fripp_exposures_boxset, Best Alex
@@RobertFripp Mr.Fripp, do King Crimson will perform in future? I'm a Middle School teen in China, Shenzhen. I really want to hear King Crimson live music in the rest of my life. My English might be not so good, sorry.
Thanks for uploading this. Nice discussion. Sid, I miss your Podcastts from the Yellow Room. I'm not on IG or Twitter/X. Are you still producing these podcasts? Cheers!
@TheloniousCube l know I have it. Love that period. FRIPP & ENO BOX would be awesome. Studio & Live Work . I would welcome a New release. Also I know FRIPP did some work with Adam Jones guitarist from TOOL.
@@RobertFripp I'd like to be able to download piecemeal, the Exposures box contents. Why? I have a lot (a LOT) of downloads already from the site, and just want to be able to pick out what I'm missing instead of re-purchasing the same thing. Do you think Exposures' contents might be made available in that way in the future?

Great discussion. I was lucky to see Robert’s performance at Madame Wongs in Los Angeles. Great and wonderful memories. 🎶🎶😊
Thanks Robert for soldering on despite those in the audience who were throwing up during your performences!
Totally thrilled to see this. Capers Corner, Kansas City, Kansas USA.
Ended up taking a long lunch break today. A new Robert Fripp upload takes precedent over...well, pretty much anything.
Love the way the loops bloom and grow.

Hi Alex,
Does this mean the Exposure box set mixes are identical to the ones linked to here?
Thanks,
David
There should be a fippertronics box set in ice blue box, that slowly turns crimson red as you get to the core of it! The packaging!!!
If they play it again, Prince Rupert Awakens will play again. I always loved that song.
Magma shirt!
Al, that Fripp & Eno poster is stunning. Any leads as to where to find one?

I personally think a Box set of FRIPP & ENO and Frippertronics era be brought into the Light.
Also a Box featuring Fripp's work with David Sylvian .
Loads of Frippertronics on the Exposures box set

Are these online releases the same as what is available on the DGM archive discs in the Exposures box?
Dear @NeilForker, the loops are from the Box Set, but the added bootlegs are not 11th 12 15 & 16 August, Best Alex
