Thanks for your reviews. Have ordered the Solaris so looking forward to listening to them. One little gem for classical music I found recently is the Magaosi K6 very resolving and musical without sharp treble but excellent bass and mids. Prefer these to Westone W60 and Shure 846. Hoping the Solaris will go to the top of the pile for all round resolution and musicality.
FIrst of all amazing review, the example songs really help out a lot. Do you think at 800$ for the Hifiman re2000 are a better bang for the buck than Campfire Solaris? Are they worth double the price? I prefer to listen to a lot of Orchestral game theme songs and also lots of bass heavy music. II think its important to note that I dont have a high end DAC or anything like that. These will mostly be used on my phone, perhaps I may get a DAC for in home listening down the line. Eventhough i can fit either phone in my budget I do want to choose the better deal for my money.
I think expensive IEMs are a waste of money if you just have a phone. The bright-ish treble of these kinds of IEMs just highlights the distortion. Either of those IEMs are better suited to high-quality acoustic music in my opinion. I guess you could count orchestral game theme songs in that.
Great music choices for a comparo.. FWIW, I find the Spiral Dots to open things up and makes things sound less compressed and peaky for the IEM’s I use. It doesn’t really enhance or add to the highs per se, IMO.. But everyone’s ears are different.
Yes, that can be one effect of them on some IEMs. Very often with dynamic driver IEMs though, you get less bass. The Spiral Dots I find to be very helpful with BA IEMs.
you should really really put JVC HA-FW10000 in the picture as they pack quite a refined and acquired sound along with the bunch. FW10000 really stands out together with the Solaris in terms of instrumental presentation.
I'd like to. I'll see if I can't borrow one from Sony or from a friend. I have the Cayin N8 coming, so it's a good suggestion to consider for comparisons.
Can you review the Kaiser 10? Massdrop recently collaborated with Noble and released the K10 for $899! I am sure there will be a lot of people like me who are considering getting a pair and it would be great if you could review them
Do you have any suggestions for in-ears that sound good directly out of an iphone? Neutral to slightly bassy tuning. Price isn't too sensitive but there might be diminishing returns when driving from a iphone, say $200-600?
Hello! Thanks for another great review! I am wondering if you or anyone else knows about these IEMS called the V-moda ZNs. They have a pretty bold claim saying they can compare to other in-ear headphones that are over $1000. I do wonder myself how they compare since they are currently my daily driver. Would you or anyone have a word on them?
The advantage of higher-quality IEMs is that you can listen at quieter volumes and hear more detail, assuming a quite environment. They aren't what I recommend for taking out on public transport though, where you end up being forced to listen louder.
Great review I love that you named the songs and albums you liked so I can listen to them on my gear
@Currawong do you think these three iem's still hold up till today, particularly atlas and re2000?
Any chance of a Polaris 2 review soon? Curious how you think they sound compared to the Atlas or even the Cascade. Thanks!

Let me know your impressions once you get them.
Would be gr8, if you also did reviews of cheaper IEMs from Campfire. I'd like to hear about Comets from you ;)
I'll definitely consider it. I have a huge list of things I'd like to review. :)
Why this video can’t be found on my timeline or at your upload list? Maybe you forgot to published it?
Weird. I'll check the notification settings. Thanks for letting me know.
Currawong this is what happened apparently twitter.com/teamyoutube/status/1088127086663888896?s=21
The video was in my timeline, although not 24hr ago. Maybe they fixed it.
Which one would be a good companion to a Aeon flow c. I love the bass in my Aeons for reference. Great review!
Hi . thanks for the detailed comparison . and what about the soundstage ? I suppose re2000 ?
Hope can see your review and comparison vs Solaris 2020 😊
It's in for review, so it will happen.

Kinda, well, uhm... Thunder. Perfect description for the Atlas.

That would definitely be interesting, as JVC do make some interesting IEMs. However they aren't available outside of Japan most of the time.
think you'll ever do a comparison with the legend x? great video btw!!
Would you say the atlas has more base than the Shure se846 ?
Hey man will you be doing a review on the Sony wm1a digital audio player

are there any reasons to spend 2000$ instead of 1000$ on IEM ??? skipping the difference in tuning.
If you listen to a lot of high-quality recordings with an excellent DAP or Hugo 2 and it's your primary set-up, maybe.

I could consider it. I liked the K10 whenever I tried them.

They'd be a good candidate for a review, as I have some similarly-priced IEMs here at the moment.
How would you feel the Andromedas stack up?
Check out my Solaris review for that.
Typical HFM nuking value after only a few years.
I love my Atlas :)
Listening through VE monk lites. :)
Campfire Solaris 9.9 point
Good morning earphone people. All just too much cash to kill your ears and go deaf. Cheers to all
