This is great for teachers too! When we put the kids into groups to do a project, it would be so convenient to hand one of these to each group so that they'd have everything they need for the project. Great idea!
Hi Alejandra! I've got to tell you that we LOVE this idea. I put one together for my homeschooled kindergartner and it has been nothing but a life saver. It also gives her a job to do, taking it from where we keep our homeschool supplies to the dining table that we do her work. Everything we need for seatwork, right there at our fingertips. Thanks for the video!!
I love this idea! I'm putting together one for my room mate and I's study caddy :) we actually do not have room for a desk so we bought these two large fold up TV tables to do our homework/studying on side by side but we were thinking about how annoying it was going to be to round up all of our index cards and pens and all this so this works for more than just an elementary students! I can just skip the things like crayons and glue :)
I did this for my son's school and art supplies last night. I love it, thanks so much for the great idea! The shower caddies are on clearance at target right now for under $3. My Target still had a lot left, in black, pink, and teal.
I have a homework caddy for my son that is in kindergarten. He is the only one in school right now so we just have the basics( crayons, scissors, glue, pencils, highlighters, and erasers) in a small plastic tote but yours is larger and can hold more. Gonna be on the hunt for a better caddy. Great video!
I have 6 year old and we always had supplies in a drawer and pulled out what we needed and put it back but sometimes we would need something else you have to run back to drawer and now we have this, it is not as big but this is so much easier and holds so many needed items. Thank you so much for helpful tips, you are AMAZING.
right after i saw your video, i picked up a caddy from target and just finished organizing it! I love it, why didnt i think of this? it genious!! thank you!!God bless!!
Oh my gosh!!!! I loved this video sooo much!!!! I am in middle school and I think this is one of the most perfect things for doing homework. It is always difficult to pick out the certain color of colored pencils and markers in the drawer and my teachers always ask for specifically liquid or stick glue. I will definitely ask my parents for this. Thank you for your advice!!!!! ( Oh and when I was cleaning my room, I also organized my drawers the way you did)
Great idea! I would use everything in here plus one of those "scratch notes" pad, sometimes I have to explain something in writing/drawing to my child and using a scrap piece of paper is neater than writing on their homework. Thanks for the video!
Oh my gosh, I didn't expect to find the answer to this struggle I was having, organising my child's homework desk. Absolutely fantastic Thank you so much for sharing.
I have 2 of these and I never thought about dividing the bigger areas with jars for some reason. This helps me a lot, lol. And the decals were a great idea
I just found your channel today and I think I've seen ever back to school video you made! Thanks to you I'm all ready ready for school! Since I'm a new subscriber, I'm wondering: Do have any kids? If you do, they are sooooo lucky! I love to be organized like you!
I am going to be doing preschool at home with my 2 youngest this fall and I think this would be great for their coloring stuff and glue and what not. Thank you!
You could do one of these for all kinds of purposes. You could make a sewing/mending caddy, a bubbles-and-sidewalk-chalk caddy for summer, a kid's artist caddy with all kinds of paints and collage materials in it. Papercrafters could fill it with their papercrafting essentials. A gardener could put clippers, a trowel, extra gloves, and mosquito repellant in it to haul around the yard. SO many possibilities!
This is a wonderful idea! To make mine a little lighter, I used plastic disposable cups instead of jars and tins. Works great and looks great! Thanks for the idea!
I think this is a good idea not only for elementary schoolers but as well as the upper levels as well, so if you do your homework on the carpet like some people, they also have all the things they need. I wish I knew this sooner, it's a great idea even for someone potentially in an office setting while keeping it classy but with a splash of color depending on the cady
Wow great idea! I have multiple places for my kids things. This would be wonderful. I would then just store the extras and get it when I need to refill. Thanks so much! Love all of your videos and ideas. Always inspires me.
good video! since we r talking about school supplies, sometimes the pencil sharpener w/the suction cups, don't always stick well. u can also get letter stickers @ the dollar store & let them put their names on it, abc,'s, etc.
Alejandra, your videos were instrumental in getting me on a mission to get organized! Thank you for all your tips! Can you make a video on how to organize kid's closets/toys. Thanks!
Thank will be using this to organize my college study area. Was able to get my shower caddy free thanks to my gift card. Do you have a way to organize notebooks, paper, etc? thanks
Great idea!! So much simpler than other videos. Could you please have a video on how to stay on top of kids homework schedule , art, and school papers? I would really appreciate it. I love your creative organization!!
Soraya Zamot same and then because I'm moving I'm like yep doing that oh but I can do this omg I don't even care anymore I just need to not be me so I can be organized 😂😂
do you have a video for organizing your back pack if so where would i find it. PS i love your organizing videos they help me a lot with school!! I want to grow up and be as organized as you!!
Alejandra, I found you through James Wedmore's RTI. I just made this for my kids after watching the video and they LOVE it! Thanks so much for the idea!
Reinforcements are those circular "donut" stickers to put on the holes of notebook paper if they tear. It mends the holes so you can still put the paper in a binder.
Hey Alejandra! Have you ever thought about doing some videos for Teens and adults with ADHD??? I would love to see what you would come up with... keep up the great work!
I love your videos!!! Could you do a video on how to organize a studio apartment ? Or just a few tips on how to organize really small spaces? Thanks xx
Hi Alejandra, thanks for the great idea as usual=-). You're an inspiration. Your tips have definitely helped me be a more organized, productive person!
This is an awesome video! Maybe you should add a ruler though for math homework.... Just a suggestion. Do your kids actually use the stuff you show us how to organize?
I used to have a "stationary box" which had all the stuff I need and I buy the stationary stuff I need in like large amounts, (more than what I need) and I also buy things I don't need because they "cute" and I keep these I in my drawer in my study desk and it's like a stationary station , so whenever I need something I just take it from there . I call it the "stationary cabinet".
Most mini staplers have a rubber bottom that opens and you store staples there. Mine, by Swingline, has an etching in the rubber that looks like staples. It also has a staple remover mad at the back (looks like a kickstand). -Ane
Can you do a video on how to organize and store baking stuff? I love to bake but it's so hard to find a good way to store everything so it works. Thanks if you do!
The blue tack were I'm from we call it sticky tack and it sticks well and it's fun to play with if you have kids it's fun to play with sticks well and comes off easy
At Wal-Mart in the section where they sell plastic storage bins (at least at my store), they have the bright pink shower caddies that are less than $1.
This is great for teachers too! When we put the kids into groups to do a project, it would be so convenient to hand one of these to each group so that they'd have everything they need for the project. Great idea!

Awesome idea! Can see it work on the desk too so stuff doesn't end up scattered all over when you don't have enough drawer space
Thank you Alejandra! Great idea for caroling all the supplies needed for homework. I have middle schoolers and HS students and we can all use this.

At Wal-Mart in the section where they sell plastic storage bins (at least at my store), they have the bright pink shower caddies that are less than $1.
