I've been contemplating retrograde Mercury and the Sun conjuncting natal Uranus and IC this week- and the Mars component feels like an access point into how my body is physically processing all of the energetics. Nervous system work and connecting with Nature is taking top priority. Good stuff, Gray. For those of us living in Asheville NC, late Sept/early Oct is associated with the hell of Helene. I imagine the station-direct of Mars in Feb might bring back some of the issues of that time, revisiting the good, bad, and ugly of the state and community's response to the humanitarian crisis we all lived through. For many, including myself, it was traumatic. But it also has kicked off (for me, at least) a deep exploration and questioning of my inner value system, and how I want to live my life going forward. I hadn't linked all of that to the Mars shadow transit, but I now think it's quite relevant. I haven't watched through the entire video, but I'm sure you're aware that Mars remains in opposition to Pluto for most of this transit. Talk about existential challenges!

The astrology is amazing, 4/5th houses for me and over the past couple of weeks already, my childs (his moon 29°Cancer) homelife with his father and my mothers homelife with my father have become hot topics for me. Theyre all quite unhappy and i dont know yet how i can help them (i live with my parents🥴) I myself feel quite good within now (when Mars opposed my sun recently, i became sick) but once Mars returns back into Cancer i am alittle apprehensive (i didnt enjoy mars in cancer much😅) My aim is to become a beacon of light and love for my loved ones🥰

For synodic cycles I like Demetra Georg's Ancient Astrology, Volume One book. This book is comprehensive with regard to planetary condition in Hellenistic Astrology, but there is also an excellent chapter on synodic cycle meaning. Adam Gainsburg has done interesting work on the Mars cycle but I don't think he has a book - you could probably find some classes he has taught online. Adam Ginsburg does have a great book on the synodic cycle of Venus called "Light of Venus." Gary Eaton has a good book on Mercury called "Hermetica Triptycha."
