Idk if our current car can, but I know our q50 could. You do it while you're walking to your car so it's not so hot anymore by the time you get there. If I remember correctly it could also start the engine and the aircon. They did show us how to do it but we're traditional in certain ways and don't bother with these things. I still don't like how automatics creep forward if you release the brake. It freaks me out that there's no clutch to press to stop it.
My new Mazda3 hatch does this and i cross shopped and looked at the GTI but the audio and climate "sliders" put me off. I also prefer the Mazda key because your can get painted key shells or leather or carbon fiber, and it feels really premium.
Back in the days when i had an audi a3, i slept couple of times with my keys in my pocket and didnt knew how my windows went open from a distance. Now i know haha so never sleep with your keys in the pocket!
Mate all German cars have that technology since the late 80’s and early 90’s. S class Merk since the 70’s and you’re talking about it in 2024? German engineering
I tried this on my MK7 2017, and nothing lol. Had to try though. Just learned on North American cars it is disabled, and needs to be reenabled to work.
Yes it’s not a new thing, plenty non GTI VW’s have also had this feature for many years. Check this out also - depress and hold the drivers door window switch after unlocking you have the same result, conversely if you hold the drivers window switch in the up position all windows will close. It’s a VW thing.
That's a feature from as far back as the Golf Mk3. 1994. Mine still works.
Some jetta has it too !!
Comes in a pinch when your door handle breaks😒😒
Passat has it too
Mmmmmm i love it
90s accords do it too, with the key
my 2004 gti already had this feature
Now if they can only make a decent water pump seal🤔
Gti and the water pump is always a thing. 😢
I think you're asking them for too much😅😂
I would love this Gti.. My family woupd really enjoy it.
I loved this feature on my MK7 GTI in the hot summer days, this feature really should be standard on every car!
This is common across a lot of cars. Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Ford, GM, VW, BMW, and others all have this feature on their models.
Yes. My 2015 Ford Kuga has the same feature.
My E46 from '98 does this as well.
Since 2005! Young man...
Dude, the old VW Tourans did this 😅

I had to code this on my 2012 GTI, it was a one owner vehicle. Bone stock and in perfect condition 👌🏼
More features added with the OBDELEVEN
Great for summer heat. You roll down the windows just as you walk up to your car and you won't feel the oven heat.
My focus 2006 still does that
My new Mazda3 hatch does this and i cross shopped and looked at the GTI but the audio and climate "sliders" put me off. I also prefer the Mazda key because your can get painted key shells or leather or carbon fiber, and it feels really premium.
My 1989 bmw 5 series had this and almost every car I’ve had since 🤷🏼♂️

Even 2006 Alfa Romeo had it
My old Honda has this feature where the sunroof can fully open
I think most vw’s work like that. I’ve only owned a golf gti and a Tiguan but both of them had this feature.
Back in the days when i had an audi a3, i slept couple of times with my keys in my pocket and didnt knew how my windows went open from a distance. Now i know haha so never sleep with your keys in the pocket!
its on all cars, for the sun heat.
It's a great feature for getaway drivers if they ditch the car just hold the lock button
If you press and hold unlock the second time it will open sunroof completly
Ah yes indubitably, my BMW does this.

Amazing this car can accomplish old tech
Jesus Christ, tons of cars do that, big bloody deal.
I had a Jag 8 years ago that did that.

I know you could do this by inserting the key in the door lock and unlocking the doors and then turning and holding it.

Cars have had this for literally decades
My jetta does that too !!
Yes, my 22 civic si does this
Until you unknowingly activate this in a torrential downpour while you're inside your house. Just a great feature!
It's been done before :(
Older Volkswagens would use the rain sensor to detect rain and close all the windows. I'd like to know if the Golf 8 still does it.
its possible, but if your pressing and holding the lock button for like 8 seconds and not notice? That's no accident🙄
!!!!!! GOODMORNING GENIUS !!!!!!
my old beloved Opel Corsa Ddid it already in 2007… VW pfff
(joke obv , every car is beautiful)
Yes it’s not a new thing, plenty non GTI VW’s have also had this feature for many years. Check this out also - depress and hold the drivers door window switch after unlocking you have the same result, conversely if you hold the drivers window switch in the up position all windows will close.
