Lovely version of a classic song. Innovative and thoughtful. The restraint shown in the version at times curiously emphasises its power. I’m sure the great John Wetton would have loved this playing 👏👏👏

What would be stunning is if Fripp/ Cross/ Bruford got together for a jam session. No pre-planning, just doing what they did best. The improvisations of all Crim lineups after cross are sorely lacking... atleast for/ to me
It's the first time we can compare Mel Collins and David Jaxon on the same piece of music...unfortunately there is not much space for Jaxon on the song....The violin takes it all or almost...and Unfortunately Starless doesn't have the same power with violin compare to saxophones....The other problem is it is very hard to combine violin and saxophone on such a piece or even on a band...there is always one that suffers or dieappeaear...In a solo format like Peter Hammill tried it adding sax and violin to his guitar it is a very though space. Hammill did a couple of tour (very rare with that base and haven't made any more after, he replaced the sax in the trio by a bass)...So either you give room at the end to the violin or the sax or you forget one of them (which is the case here). Unfortunately for the song the choice of violin weakens it . I wonder if alternating more would be possible..of course we need the disparition of egos(lol)
Un excelete tema, clarisimo que mucho más pesado y mejór con K-C. Pero una buena verción liviana con un excelente Jackson y un Cross que no deja nada que desear.....El resto muy pero muy liviano...........De todos modos es un tamaso que genera muchisimo. Gracias por compartirlo!!!
Yes, other bands can play KC pieces, but they are not the same. The guitar is lost in the mix in places where it was out front in the original. And violin takes the guitar solo, which is ok, since it is David Cross's band.
But, these days, as to KC performing Larks' Tongues in Aspic (parts 1 and 2) and Talking Drum, among others, the violin is lost in favor of guitar and Chapman stick.

La voz no cuadra, el vocalista no esta a la altura del tema, parece cantante de pop y no de rock, los demás integrantes sensacionales.

I mean the original live version of Starless was a violin/keyboard solo and an intro on violin from Cross.
