Speed Demon official video: • Michael Jackson - Spee...
Speed Demon is not filler, it's one of his best songs.
Speaking the truth!
Exactly. Some of the ones called fillers are the best ones like can't let her get away or DS!
Agree! The filler is “Just Good Friends”
Absolutely agree. Just like I Can't Help It on Off The Wall. Maybe his best track.
Totally agree. For me, this is the best song ever, from Michael Jackson or whomever else. The best song ever. It gives me goosebumps every single time I hear at Speed Demon. Totally love it.
The bridge of Speed Demon has always been one of my absolute favorite singing parts ever done by MJ. Hear it in isolation is like a wish come finally true
listen to that as a child felt like hearing something out of another galaxy. ill never forget that magic.
@@seppelhuber8596 I felt exactly the same
@@seppelhuber8596i felt the same !
🎉yes🎉
Hell yeah! Awesome to hear others appreciate the bridge as I have!✌🏾😎
Pls never stop doing these MJ breakdowns, top top quality content 🙌🏽 thank you mate!
AGREED! 🥰🥰 I absolutely love these MJ breakdowns! ❤️❤️❤️
Yes plz
13:04 MJ was on magic, bro!!
mj wrote the lyrics, co-produced and arranged the rhythm and vocals. genius
Speed demon is so underrated. Always loved the rhythm guitar riff and MJ's vocals on this one. Fun fact I heard: MJ wrote this after his car was stopped on the way to an appointment for speeding. He processed the situation by immediately writing speed demon right after.
Did he get stopped by a rabbit ?🤣

@Xalim I heard this story too. Apparently MJ mentioned it to Quincy Jones and Jones said to Mike just to write a song about it.
Actually he was on his way to the studio and he was late cuz of it. He was all pissed and Quincy told him to put it in a song.
Michael Jackson's fillers worth even more than nowdays top hits..just saying..Thank you Chris once again for your great work. Respect
Why he never performed this one live
is beyond me. such a good track
It would've went so hard at Wembley, like the Gotta Be Starting Something performance
Wanna Be Startin Somethin*
Because he was only thinking in terms of "hits" and when he was on stage he chose to perform only songs that were released as singles. That how commercially driven he was. Always the same songs, show after show, tour after tour... He was more of an entertainer than he was an artist in terms of freedom.
Speed Demon is literally my favourite song in music history. I am hypnotized and jaw dropped and thrilled and excited every single time I hear Speed Demon. This is the ultimate creative genius piece of art from Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones + Bruce Swedien, I have to admit. Unbelievably brilliant and overwhelming. SPEED DEMON ROCKS!!!
This song is so underrated. It's so creative to write a song about getting a speeding ticket. Plus, the baseline of this song is insane. I love the groove of this song. It's is so infectious! I love the diction and syncopation of how he sings the chorus and the uniform tones with almost no vibrato.
11:03 I AM YOU U ARE ME...Literally my reaction at exact moment:)))
I got goosebumps at 'No Stop and Go!' - Love to watch/hear a Dirty Diana breakdown. BAD is my favourite album of all time
OH MY GOSH! These breakdowns make you appreciate the songs even more! There's something about isolating MJ multitracks that makes you want to own them so you can enjoy them separately from the final mix. I wish this was possible. THERE IS SO MUCH WE DON'T HEAR WHEN EVERYTHING IS MIXED TOGETHER. So much is drowned in the noise. That's what makes your videos so delightful. Thank you Chris! I've always loved this song but I needed to hear this, and now I love it so much more 🔥 🔥 🔥
Yeess!!! MJ again. I wish you could be doing "stranger in moscow". This is soooo bluesy and full of soul.
Stranger in Moscow used to give me chills. Soul penetrating. He sang with so much conviction in his voice at the end of the track.
Michael could literally whisper with a grit, wow!
17:40 Michael jackson was expressing himself with all his soul is not about technich is about feeling, emotion , anger , sadness, hapness, this part right here for me was a game changer , hearing such a masterpiece voice expression from michel , the way he talks to speed demon as it took all his life, and still blame him for not living , it´s just unreal
Thank you for this work.
The Bad album is one of those rare albums you don't skip a track.
Speed Demon, one of his most underrated songs. Great work Chris, as always! Thank you so much.
MJ fans love you. ❤
❤❤ 🔥
As a child, I never listened to Speed Demon much, but I grew up and learned to appreciate it.
Same. I did love the one part with the rabbit in moonwalker tho.
@@maximeajavonsame
I was like that with a few other songs of his. But i always grew up with this song
I heard Michael wrote this in minutes after he actually got a ticket for driving fast on his bike cause he was late to the studio. Thanks , Chris
His reaction at 11:05 puts a smile on my face lol
My favorite MJ Song❤
Same. It's super underrated.
3:46 The melody with those strings, wow! How could that make you not levitate in the air? 🤩
omg
Frfr
This is the best video I've even seen. & btw 17:13 vocals !!🔥🔥
17:13 literally best thing i've ever heard. Damn chris🤯🔥🔥
The strings I barely even here in the final mix, only now when I go back to listen to the song I can really hear them, thanks Chris❤🇱🇺
Amazing! This is my favorite song in the Bad album. The end instrument is the greatest.
ive always found it interesting how lihhthearted or happy the chord and melodies are on the bad album but mjs vocals are much more agressive compared to thriller.
13:03 the King took me to heaven, love it ❤🔥💓💖
Michael could hear the beats an instruments in his head. He would repeated the sounds and beats to his musicians. His musicians always got it right. Michael used to record the sounds and words he heard in this head.
I remember being fascinated with Speed Demon after first seeing Moonwalker as a toddler in like 90 or 91 (born in late 80’s). When watching the video thousands of times as a kid, I never noticed all the beatboxing and the different instruments like the bass until I heard the song on cassette. Then heard the whole song again on CD like around 2001. It was mind blowing! Everything was a little bit more clearer to me.
So great!! Thank you. Can never have too many Michael Jackson dives!!
I really enjoys these MJ's vocal analysis videos as well as the other instructional ones as they have really helped me to be more confident with my vocals. Thank you for that. Speed Demon is one of my favourites as well. I hope you have more MJ tracks in the future knowing how difficult they are to get hold off.
So in other words Michael Jackson is what happens when a masterful voice actor decides to be a pop star.
YO! I keep saying this! Michael always wanted to do films, but he honestly wasn't the best "actor". He was a performer and music was his trigger. He was, at best, a character actor who needed to hide behind a costume like in The Wiz. But to your point, he really could have been an AMAZING voice actor. He would play phone pranks on people all the time doing that. You are spot on!!
An analysis beautifully done! Loved to see all those little details :3
This made me think all over again that, some people just don’t realize how free, expert and how much ability he had on his voice, like there still who think he was not that great because he would reach some more “virtuous” tone or wouldn’t hold long notes (which he did but not all the time), but they don’t get how hard is to be this agile! Like he could do many many things with his voice, impressive and almost impossible things (for the years of experience and practice) but in such a short time that they don’t hear them, and that’s even harder!
But thankfully we had this kind of videos whether this things can be talked about ✨
Where do you get these stems/multitracks? I know there are a lot out there but I’ve never managed to get Speed Demon, Liberian Girl etc
Thank you so much for covering Speed Demon, this has always been my absolute favourite MJ song, insanely underated and WOW, hearing all of that in isolation, was absolutely incredible. That high pitched segment, and hearing all the extra beat boxing and stomping. Thank you Chris! 🙌
Speed Demon is one of my faves... i could die for his vocal ad lips (min 22:44)
I'm surprised you love this song! I love it too
@@for-house-stark why are u surprised?
@@katie4aday511 you didn't really like songs like dirty diana, but you love this one. That's why
@@for-house-stark this one is not "rock" ... and who are you? lol
@@katie4aday511 you don't like rock at all? Beat it? Give in to me? DS? Come on. I can't tell you who I am just yet lol
Chris thank you for your exceptional analysis of the MJs songs... You are awesome.I can't believe I could appreciate even more after being a MJ fan for over 30 years the magic, the excellence, the perfection of his art. You really break it down perfectly... Great work, can't have enough
Thank you, thank you, thaaank you for doing this!!! This is definitely one of my favorite MJ song’s and it’s parte of an album that was so unfairly underrated at its time! Like they literally called it “the worst album of the year”
Now is more appreciated but still just the “mainstream songs” (which are incredible), but the whole album is so well done! Honestly, was the reason why I became such a fangirl of his and then I started to appreciate (and then love) music even more
I own this album a lot 😅✨
Would love to have heard his harmonies
The bass line in chorus is one of the most mind blowing bass lines in history. And you didn’t even mention it!!
am just speechless...about every part of this ICONIC song.
I mean all instrumental parts n much much much more important, is his magic voice!
I'll be goddamned.
I’ve been waiting for this one! Speed Demon used to be my LEAST favorite MJ song and then one day it just started to grow on me. Now I think it’s top 3 from the album 😆
That's my favorite song of bad for me ,when l had for the first Time, it was speed démon again,and,again....
When there are videos about MJ, I like before starting the video. Hugs from Brazil, brother
I've been singing Michael Jackson songs my entire life and I'm still learning with these MJ breakdowns, thanks for that Chris 😊🙏
Love that his favorite parts are my favorite ones too, ‘cause he repeated them over and over again! Ah! Loved it 😍
Speed demon was the reaso why I would ended up without voice after hearing the whole Bad album, this one and Smooth criminal xD just by trying to get the “raspy” voice, but it was totally worth it ✨
What a time to be alive.
Definitly proving that when you feel the song you must show it while recording. Emotions are powerful. Unfortunately not the case of our signers today.
I lived to hear the day of the isolated bridge! That was always a gem waiting to be uncovered 😏
I always had an assumption there was a lotta things going on in this song and guess what Mr Chris liepe u made it right!! Thx for that and also a request can h pls doo the breakdown of dangerous and 2000 watts by mj 🙃🙃 I am really anxious to see that!!!
Magic 🪄 one of my favorite gems. Unbelievable vocals… thanks for bringing them out into the light 🙏
Thank you for all this work and for allowing many to appreciate the genius of this unique artist.
Probably one of the most original arrangements songs a pure, groovy R&B MJ creation, one of my favorites from BAD album.
Amazing reaction.🔥🔥🔥I really enjoyed
LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT. ❤❤❤
I thought speed demon was OK at best for MJ but after watching this video speed demon is now my favorite underrated MJ song
Great work Chris, as always! Thank you so much for this video. Speed demon...
Speed Demon is such a great song! The range he's singing in is fascinating. From his lowest deep voice to his highest pitch. And to hear it like this just makes it even more precious. We couldn't be more thankful to you, Chris. 🙏🏻 Looking forward to the next MJ multitrack. We are sooo ready for that! 😁
Michael Jackson
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👑👑👑👑👑
I don't know anything about singing, music recording, etc but 13.05 has always amazed me, his vocal there are sick. DID YOU HEAR HOW HIGH HIS VOICE IS, an if people think that Michaels voice are that high no, he has a deep voice. Speed demon, I don't know if people know how sick vocals Michael has in that song.
I didnt know this song was underrated as a "filler". One of my favs
Chris, it is fun watching you GEEK OUT to these Michael tracks! Hahahahaha!
You obviously enjoy these equally as both a fan AND a professional & that's what makes this channel hot.
I don't sing but I like to watch music channels. And it's fun watching somebody who knows the technique behind the artistry.
I'm learning stuff just listening to your reactions. You're doing good work, Chris. Keep it up.
Masterpiece 👍
Stranger in Moscow and maybe butterflies...? ❤️
Great to see this video, Chris! I became a fan of the song when i saw Moonwalker at the cinema as a child. Couldn't appreciate all the dynamic elements of it until the 2001 remaster, but it's one of MJ's most impressive compositions. It blends pop, rock, soul, Funk, Jazz and blues into one and the vocal performance accentuates this. The bridge is very impressive but I think the higher harmony on the first part of it is even more so, since it shows how strong and high he can go. Best head voice performance since Don't Stop Til You Get Enough, I'd say.
This song is actually a very similar composition to Bad (and even the short film has the same wardrobe and transitions after it on Moonwalker) so it's strange how critics say its filler! 🐰 🛵 🕺🏾
It is difficult because he had to imagine and create all by himself the way he would sing his songs. That’s what makes him a real artist: freedom, creativity, imagination, expression, Rhythmically and musically in zone. MJ 4ever💝
You should do Stranger in Moscow. THAT, my friend, in my opinion, is one of his best songs ever made, and so underrated!
ABSOLUTELY ❗
Stranger In Moscow has an atmosphere like no other of his songs imo. The rain at the beginning sets the mood for the whole song. Just amazing.
FACTS
I agree, but just one correction. Everything Mike does is the best as he's the GOAT of music 👑🐐💚💞✨️🙌🏽🤩
SO TRUE
Homeboy giving game and flexin at the same time!!!
Great vid bro!!!
Now we are waiting for dramatic Who Is It and sexy In the Closet ))
Speed Demon is my favorite track off the Bad Album. It took some time for me to fully appreciate it, but the production combined with Michael's energy make it an incredible song. Thank you for covering it!
"Speed Demon" and "Smooth Criminal" are my absolute favorite songs from "Bad."
AAAAA, I LOVE IT, THANK YOU SO MUCH
Been waiting for this one!!!!
That is sooo cool. Thank you for breaking it down!
Awesome as always with these analyses, and yeah , very rare that MJ had any filler songs on his albums. Speed Demon is definitely not a filler song. It as most of his songs has its special place on the album.
Please if possible, do a breakdown of the song "Get on the floor" next!
Bro… you are in my mind, that’s the next one I want and I love speed demon
This was an awesome analysis! Absolutely love this breakdown!
There’s so much here. Even how the bass line lands on the 7 never resolving to the 1. Once again driving home the tension he created in his vocal performance. This song is nothing less than brilliant execution.
OMG Finally we got it. Thank you
Chris you are truly appreciated
Let’s goo love that you finally got to this classic. Also one of his greatest music videos
Love all the MJ multitracks. Thank you for doing these. It brings out aspects of Michaels voice unknown.
Thank you for this breakdown, if been waiting for this for so long! The bridge and the song in general are just so underrated!
Dude. PLEASE do “Stranger In Moscow”! THE most underrated MJ song!
I love these Mj breakdowns, thank you so much for making these amazing videos !!!!! So interesting
written and composed by Michael Jackson - what an amazing talent
Thank you Chris for sharing. That bass and guitar plus his beatboxing together is timeless and after 36 (!!!) years still sounds fresh. I could listen to it for hours.
Thank you Chris! These MJ breakdowns are great! ❤
OMG ! It’s my favourite song !
I have been waiting for it since forever, such a rare gem. Thanks so much Chris for all the MJ content you do ! 🔥
One of my favorites, It’s an underrated one! Great breakdown as always 👏

A Genius at work, ones again!
Thanks for doing another MJ track!
Omg I've been waiting for this video! It's so amazing to hear and see the break down of his music. And it's cool to be able to learn more about it too. Thank you for these videos, absolutely love so much 😍🥰🔥
this is one of my favorite songs by MJ. This was a real treat thank u
Tnank you thank you thank you Chris!! I was literally cheering with you when Michael pulled those groovy parts out of the hat, and his soul in the bridge of this song!!
I believe that every person studying singing should see these miraculous things..
please do a analysis on Just Good Friends from the Bad album as well, really high energy vocals from MJ and Stevie Wonder!
"Get it" , is a better (imo) duet of him in Stevie.
Amazing video and idea. MJ is the one worthy of detailing down like thisz cuz it really is amazing. Great job.
Your reactions are giving me life!!! I totally feel the same way about this track! 💕
The world's best musician and dancer Michael Jackson. His style of dancing and singing music never seems childish. He always sang music in deep voice, so his songs are hit and catchy. He was the only person in the world who performed dance-music together in front of live audience. May her soul rest in peace. From Bangladesh 🇧🇩🆒🇧🇩
