Jerry you are a living national treasure of firearms experience and knowledge. Your a legend and we are lucky to have you here in America. Thank S&W and thank you Jerry.
Great video! By the way our Rukh offset mounts are all machined from Grade-5 Titanium. They felt like stainless because they have some heft to it, but actual steel mount would be too heavy and less durable. Love your contents and keep up with the good work!!
Next, the BAD lever - the lever that allows you to release or lock open the bolt carrier with your trigger finger. It may not work on your rifle for the following reasons: 1. Some upper receivers are not formed to allow that large a component to fit into the recess for the bolt release in the upper receiver. 2. For some reason unknown to me, on some rifles, somehow the BAD lever increses drag on the bolt crrier and it won’t ever lock back after the last round in a magazine is fired while on other rifles that problem is intermittant - the worst of all possible problems with it. 3. Personally I don’t like to fiddle around the tirgger unless my finger is going on the trigger to fire. Additionaly, if you wear gloves, there may not be enough spece inside the trigger guard for all three - the trigger, your gloved trigger finger and the BAD lever. An negligent discharge could result. Just because it works for Jerry doesn’t mean it will work for you. Try it if you like but experiment in a safe manner before you go to a competition and discover you launched a bullet before you wanted to.
He'd get flagged for listing any useful info. UA-cam has a boner for killing the 2nd amendment. There's a dozen different companies that make all those parts, I don't use any of wt Jerry uses. But I also don't shoot competitively and my AR is a hefty biatch 🤷♂️
Not only can you shoot Mr. Miculek, you are very competent at mechanical work. I know people that need spectators to wear safety glasses when they attempt stuff !!
It is important to remember that these modifications are for competition purposes. While I am no where as good as Jerry in competition, I have the experience of having carried the M16/M4 pattern rifle/carbine in combat in desert environments, forest environemts and jungle environments over 40 years.of working with this rifle. Thus the extended magazine release is certainly not something you want on a duty gun or a rifle you expect to use for your own personal defense. The M16 origially didn’t have the ridge or rail around the magazine release that we are all familiar with today. Thus it was very easy to brush against a tree or tree branch in Vietnam and drop your magazine - turning your sleek M16 into a plastic one shot rifle. Among the first 2 modifications to the M16 [to become the M16A1] was the rail around the magazine release button. The extended magaine release effectively defeats the purpose of that rail. Remember Murphy’s Law - "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong and at the worst possible moment”. I had an extended magaine release on my competition rifle and took it off becaue in 3 environments [around the ranch, training with it and in competittion]. I repeatedly, accidently hit the extended mag release on something and dropped the magazine.
Cool video Mr. Jerry. I would like more information on the sling you use and maybe a sling video in the future on other types of slings. Also, does S&W make an AR variant close to the specs of the military M4 using a 14" barrel length? Thanks
Ok, my 3rd comment. If you attach the rear of your sling to the right rear of the buttstock [assuming you are a right handed shooter] you can transition the rifle to your left shoulder without putting yourself in a choke hold. This is helpful for shooting around the left side of a barrracade, the left side of cover or the left corner of a wall in your house.
It is with great respect and admiration I ask you go through your actual competition rifle. The one you actually compete with. The one with likely a proof carbon barrel, carbon hand guard, adjustable gas block, some fancy BCG , some crazy buffer and spring, your trigger, safety's and how you develop loads it likes and adjust it. Also the why. Why you chose this part or piece and how they all work together. I think I speak with several others when I say I'd pay to see that info, wisdom and knowledge. I never comment, likely for good reason lol
Hey @Jerry Miculek what are your thoughts on H.R.1808 - Assault Weapons Ban of 2022. From what I saw in their the government wants to ban anything that makes a AR a AR. From the forward grip to the moveable stock and detacable mags. And that is just for starters. I cant find any new info on the bill but it did pass the house.
Vortex, its common to run small red dots for the sub 10 yard shots where the scope offset is going to be problematic instead of guessing your hold over. Yes its the same style red dot you will typically see mounted on pistols RMR is probably the most popular choice.
The Phase 5 ambi bolt release is top notch. Just a full install instead of just the add on but I love it.
This man Mr. Miculek is a treasure. Just top of the line.
Jerry you are a living national treasure of firearms experience and knowledge. Your a legend and we are lucky to have you here in America. Thank S&W and thank you Jerry.
Very informative. I don't own an AR, yet, but it was educational to observe someone actually changing parts and explaing the process.
Just get one and go down the rabbit hole.. I started w a complete PSA rifle for 625.. now it's closer to a 2k DD rifle than a goofy ol m4a2
That’s not just any old someone, that’s the human aimbot lol
A true gunman! It was a delight hearing and listening to you, sir! Semper Fi

Wasn't even aware you made this mount and that it has a pivot feature. Good stuff.

Awesome! A list of parts would be helpful, but interesting to see how a master so simply sets up a weapon.

Look at Jerry’s forearms from decades of crushing triggers!
Simple, clean and just awesome !!
Mr. M, you are awesome as usual. Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge.
The man the myth the legend
Jerry just put Magpul on everything 😂
I can’t blame him, I did the same to my M&P.
Not only can you shoot Mr. Miculek, you are very competent at mechanical work. I know people that need spectators to wear safety glasses when they attempt stuff !!
Thank you sir.
Love all your stuff sir. You are a legend.
Thank you Jerry. Love those funny comments, like the Power Windows about the BAD lever. You're right, it's a spoiler that little device.
Jerry is as legend!

Who asked the videos title literally says how to setup a competition rifle not a duty one
Great rifle setup
THE BEST OF THE BEST
Fancy work with the Allen key
Hey Jerry nice see you again miss watching you hope you're doing good. Take care of my friend.
Legend
Jerry, you are the man. Even though this is pretty simple stuff I really enjoyed your presentation of it.
Get some 😎 😂
Doh! I thought this was Jerry’s channel.
My Idol...
Power windows, I love it!
Enjoyed Mr Jerry
That VG6 Epsilon he took off is a better brake than what he replaced it with.
I love Jerry but that unorganized mess of ammo both stresses me out and makes me angry cuz I don't have it all 😡

What is the difference in degrees with the stock pistol grip compared to Mag Pul grip?

What mount is being used for the Vortex Razor?
Ok Jerry, what the heck is that mess behind you? My OCD Marine Corps is about to explode looking at that!!!!
I'm glad I don't have to do inventory for this dude.
Get some
18" barrel? was readying most 3 gunners us 16? Thank you!
How much recoil mitigation does the JM comp deliver?
Single or double stage straight trigger and how much lb?
I was thinking this was a magpul commercial, after he was done I thought he stole my rifle…. Need to check into the Valhalla offset mount.

Why is a lpvo necessary for 3 gun honest question
👍🏻👍🏻

What red dot are you running? It looks like a pistol red dot.

can you help me?
Stock, grip and handguard only and leave everything as it is.
👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🔫🔫💯💯☕️☕️🛎
My gun is in trouble!
Lmao 2500$+ scope on a 699 gun
That In of itself makes this entire video a joke.
Is it really good advertising for your gun to show someone changing all kinds of stuff on it cuz he don't like the way it comes out of the box? Lol.
Should have just got a whole different gun, you changed just about everything, lol 😅
The limit of ammunition in Italy is 200 for pistol… you have min 3000 ammo in your shelf😂😂😂
