If I lived in your area and was about 40 years younger I would love to be a part of your crew. 😁 Lots of challenges and no boring same ole things going on. Organized too and the right tools for the job. Love it!
That little pumper would add another dimension to the work you do. I would mount it to a dedicated trailer and also mount an IBC tote for water to wash it out. Maybe even a pressure washer to help clean up. The only downside besides the cost that I can see is cleanup of the unit. The easier you make cleaning the more often you will use it.
Going the extra mile in placing the styrofoam is an example of what keeps you in business.

First time I've seen you do this! You know, interesting fact, during the great depression FDR hired artisans to build route 5-15 the merrit Parkway, and you see alot of this plus fancier designs in the bridges and concrete work still today.

1st off, happy birthday to Emily. You're right about time and kids. My only one just turned 46 in March. I remember so vividly being in the delivery room with his mom like it was yesterday. The one thing in my life I hope I will never forget. Probably the most scared I've ever felt and the 1st time I witnessed a true miracle in my life.
As far as this concrete pumper business. I'm sure its out of the reach of smaller or less busy contractors. Would the possibility of renting it out, when not in your use, be a viable option to help offset the purchase price and even become another side business for you?
What about using PVC panels for your inserts?? I'd think they would hold up better and you could even include some pretty unique designs into them, should you want.
You want progression in business if you are wanting to grow. This pumper would more than likely benefit the next generation more than you. Not that you're getting old, but some form of retirement or doing less has to be in the back of your mind. Not tomorrow, but someday in the future for certain 😊😊. Good video, look forward to seeing this possible addition work.
I get some good insights on forming and placing mud.
Really dont understand why you wouldnt set dry concrete block all around the inside about 8-12 inches away from the forms ,fill the center and the webs of the block with the stone then pour it ! A lot less weight and concrete !! What you are doing there is just nuts !!! Having some sand and cement mixed up in a bucket would have helped with filling in those honey combs and smoothing out the sides of the stoop ! You normally do excellent work but finishing the sides with your hand isnt one of them ! A sponge float would have been a better choice !

That pumper would be nice for smaller job, but would still need the bigger ones for those large jobs or if you have a long distance. I could see basements when the first floor is framed, patios, and tight areas.

Not just another truly unique but very special pour, I would definitely recommend a similar pour here, possibly a bit big for my home sadly, but I require a ramp for my future mobility scooter, front and back doors, my front desk will require a timber contruction, but back door definitely concrete, with new driveway and paths, I would definitely love a front concrete wall facing the road with all your designs, dreams are free a Tom, ❤❤😊😊😊.

Looks awesome as always! What mix design do you typically use for steps and a porch with an overhang? I’ve always had a bit of a problem trying to time removing the forms without compromising any overhang. It’s nice to hear you mention the times here and there to give us a rough idea👍🏼👍🏼

we have a 3/4 yard hopper with a chute and hydraulic door for our skid steer, makes jobs like that a snap. love your channel by the way. 29 years in the mud with 25 in business.
Those steps were awesome. Those accents gave it a little pizzazz. I guess a pumper is good great idea. Is this the only company? I always heard the old saying. "If it makes dollars, it makes sense.

You could make life easier by welding up some portable heavy duty ramps for the buggy? Some modular system that can be erected onsite maybe. Just a suggestion as it seems like you do a lot of steps where access is often limited.

There is a much easier way, it’s a 2’’ line pump. The guys in our area charge 300.00 up to 15 yards. Well worth it imo.
They need to work on the price point of the Mud Demon. I feel like you can buy a good used trailer pump for the same money. Then you don’t need to put hours on your skid steer or buy a new trailer.
You have probably said it a thousand times, but how do you know when to remove the forms, from the porch?
The last words of the video were the best. You have to try, you never know till you try. Solid advice for sure.

The mud demon sure looks interesting - cleanup would be the question in my mind. Having had to work with a few different concrete pumps, I've always been glad I'm not the one making sure it is clean after use, and have still had to deal with issues. Good luck
My Daughter put my wife on her phone plan and she gets a free new phone just about every year. I was on her plan for about a week close to 18 years ago and told her that I don't want to answer my home phone so why would I want a cell phone and put it back in the box. Having a business you need it, for me I don't and have peace and quiet.
