LYRICS:
You're prettier than all the world
And I'm so proud, I'm so proud, I'm so proud of you
'Cause you're only one fellow's girl
I'm so proud, I'm so proud, I'm so proud of you
I'm so proud of being loved by you
And it would hurt, hurt to know,
If you ever were untrue, yeah
Sweeter than the taste of a cherry so sweet
Yeah, and I'm so proud, I'm so proud,
I'm so proud of you
Compliments to you from all the people we meet
Yes babe and I'm so proud, I'm so proud,
I'm so proud of you
I'm so proud of being loved by you
I did you wrong
My heart went out to play
But in the game I lost you
What a price to pay
I'm crying - ooh baby, baby
Mistakes
I know I've made a few
But I'm only human
You've made mistakes too
I'm crying - ooh, baby, baby
I'm just about at
The end of my rope
But I can't stop trying
I can't give up hope
'Cause I believe
One day I'll hold you near
Whisper I still love you
Until that day is here
I'm crying - ooh baby, baby
Many guys have come to you
With a line that wasn't true
And then you pass them by
Now you're in the center ring
And their lies don't mean a thing
Why won't you let me try
Now I don't have a diamond ring
I don't even know a song to sing
All I know is La La means
I love you
If I ever saw a girl
That I needed in this world
You are the one for me
Let me take you in my arms
And fill you with my charms
I'm sure that you will see
The things I am saying are true
And the way that I say them to you
Can't you hear me, La La means
I love you
Cool jerk, cool jerk, cool jerk, cool jerk
This cat they're talking about
I wonder who could it be
'Cause I know I'm the heaviest cat
The heaviest cat you ever did see
When you see me walking down the street
And they clapping and they speak
All the business they wish to whisper it
But they know I'm the king of the cool jerks
Ah ha ha
Look at them guys looking at me like I'm a fool
Ah but deep down inside they know I'm cool
I said now,
I said now the moment of truth has finally come
When I was gonna do some, some of that cool jerk
All right, now I want to hear a little bit
Of the drums by himself here
All right, now I want to hear a little bit of
A bass with those eighty-eights
All right, now let's hear the organ player fall in
All right now everybody, I wanna hear you howl
Ah you're cooking, you're smoking
Come on people can you do it?
The cut between Oh Baby, Baby- La La, is just amazing. When music becomes magic.
I agree!
one of the best 20 seconds of music ever made
Absolutely agreed
Listen people now is the time to vote TODD RUNDGren into the rock and roll hall of fame for 2020
Vote TODD RUNDGren
You made it happen Douglas!!! So glad our Todd made it, they don't fucking deserve him, but if somehow it introduces him to others it's worth it. Viva Todd!
it's super heartwarming how much Todd enjoyed traditionally black music and how he incorporated soul into his music
btw not saying certain music is for certain races just that it's traditionally created and appreciated by black artists and communities but todd really liked that stuff
I don’t think you can call yourself a true musician without embracing the world and all it’s music. Soul, Flamenco, Afro-Cuban Funk, etc.
Yeah I was wondering if this was done today if there would be all kinds of people screaming "Cultural Appropriation" - which would be too bad. I grew up in the 60s which were very much about complete freedom of expression - doing what you want as long as it doesn't hurt anybody. You don't like the music that someone is putting out? No one is putting a gun to your head and making you listen to it. End of story,
Well, you know? It's Philadelphia... the Philly Sound? just like, the Motown Sound? or, the Memphis/STAX Sound? or the, Macon, Georgia studios? Todd and Daryl Hall, grew up in Philadelphia, I believe? And then, the fact that; most of it, was at its Zenith, during the 60's and early 70's? Just a Wealth, of Treasured Talent, coming out of those Studios! During those years, of Top 40 Radio, basically? I enjoy it more now! Than I did Then? It grows Richer and Richer! How many years, into the Future? Will these Love Songs last? As long as Little Boys are chasing Little Girls around... 🎶💙
Yes! And that fact is lost on many of his fans.
Todd transcends time and space. He makes me think, puts a smile on my face, and makes me feel joy and he recognizes my pain. A Wizard, a true star indeed.Love to all my Toddlodites!!!
I get so emotional when I listen to this
These songs are just pure good feelings. It's crazy how it carries away pain.
One of those most brilliantly crated medleys. Perfection.
Hi.
I was 7 years old and my brother was able to buy this extremely rare record in a very small village in Normandy in France. my attachment to todd and his music has never wavered. I am 60 years old now. Who listens to this music in the world these days? I believe that this would make men and women more peaceful
thats awesome=)
Cool Jerk in 7/8. Only Todd dares!! LOL
Very few know that it is in 7/8. Bravo!
And succeeds.
My Love for this artist extends beyond the galaxy, and resides eternally on one very special Astral plane
You've described this better than I ever could.
So excellently said❤ We are of like mind 🌴
This version of "La La..." is just too good.
I wish he did a full version!
💩🤯
A homey song for him after all!!
One thing about Todd, he has great taste in music of this period and this Delfonics song is right there with any greal soul ballad of the time.
No. It isn't. 🤣🤣 He cannot handle that William Hart falsetto.
I brought this Quality piece of Art when Wizard was first released and it stands up to anything else even today in 2022.
Todd + Acid = Perfection in Music.

Been listening to Todd since high school 1975 great memories.
this whole thing is simply a work of genius, blending such timeless soul classics together in such a modern fashion it's still futuristic to this day
Saw Todd Rundgren and Daryl Hall last night in Chicago. A terrific show.

Ooooo yea this is the good stuff he honours all of the original artist Love me some Todd
I just looked at all the music Todd has produced. An amazing list of bands and albums he's worked on. And this medley is so fine.
50 years of Todd,* So much more than just one victory!
ooh OOH baby BABY. Listened for many years. Timeless.
The Tubes!
Saw him perform “Liars” in Birmingham on a last minute invite from my older brother who first introduced me to Todd. I’d never heard any of the album previously, but he just blew us all away. Old fans dancing in the isles and out of their seats. Great night, cheers bro.
@Toni Caso Greetings. Brum, my home town. At the Birmingham Symphony Hall, England. 2004.
@Toni Caso Ay r kid it was a boster! What we wouldn't give to be back in those days.
Don't worry, Toni. You can take the kid out of Oldbury, but you can't take Oldbury out the kid!
Stay safe, Kidda.
Simply lovely
Very happy I discovered Todd.

Fave TR medley. Never get tired of listening to this gem & still listening in 2021 Winter Pandemic. Be safe, all! Edit: For some reason, my comment posted twice. Apologies to all.
Man,I sang this in 77,all the girls melted
so fucking beautiful! Thanks for uploading
Thanks for watch :)
So very beautiful....todd sings to my soul
I’ve loved Todd for over forty years. This is one of my favourites. So upset that he’s Not been great over the last few years possibly ill!
Girls loved this -- always did, including back in the day: my day. But I always picked up the phonograph needle and skipped Cool Jerk. Doing the same now with the computer.
That version of Cool Jerk is in 9/8 and he makes it groove hard! To me that is the climax of the medley.
So true. It Sucked!
Lever Action I did the same thing, picked up the needle at “Cool Jerk”. How funny!
I did the same back in the day. I understand the 9/8 trip, but it just was so jarringly out-of-synch with the other three songs, which kinda hijacked the idea of a "medley," but, knowing Todd a little, maybe that was his intent. I do love the original of this by the Capitols. Fun song. Does sound like T.R. had fun doing it!
Todd has always seemed to have the ability to beguile and yet bewilder all at the same time.
Laverly !
This is My Very Very Favorite Tune !
Todd was strongly against drug use prior to this album but he took the dive, drugs are very very bad..but this album is incredible lol
There's nothing wrong with being drug free. Drugs can offer a very alternative experience to life. They are simply tools for seeing a different perspective when taken with knowledge and guidance
Un des meilleurs !!!
WOW .. THIS IS A NICE COVER
thank
Todd is the best! He is nominated for the 2020 R&R Hall Of Fame and he deserves to be in there! You can vote for him daily until Jan.10/20.
New this year, to cast a ballot in the official Klipsch Audio Fan Vote, you can search “Rock Hall Fan Vote” or the word “Vote” with any Nominee name on Google to cast your ballot.
If Todd doesn't get into the R&R Hall of Fame, it would be a travesty.
@@Rodinmod Been passed up twice and ignored for years. Sad and hard to believe!
The Wizard Of Song....You can't go wrong...
The heaviest cat I ever did see.
Makes those songs better than original
❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
I’m a big fan of his but have always preferred his originals to his covers. I’ve always wished he would do more hard rock like “Black Maria”.
Motown Todd
love it!
From Philadelphia😅
💛💛💛💛
💖💖💖
I hope she really knows how much i really love her.
La la la la la!
Todd = godd
recorded? (and released) 1973 - do the math - still sounds GOOD
"Mistakes, I know I made a few..." Right at that point there is a little glitch in the sound. I've been listening to this fantasic album for 40 years, each time thinking that it's an audio analogy. Soooo is it? Or have I "made mistakes too"?
Sweet baby Jesus. Part of my life's history just went out of the window.
What the hell is this? Guess those who ' liked ' it never spent hours listening to the original. BTW Todd when ARE you going to host SNL. & what did happen to that onion head ?
I use to say in song to my girlfriend at the time this song!
Did Curtis Mayfield really write all those songs? "Cool Jerk" was by The Capitols, "Ooh Baby, Baby" was from Smokey Robinson, and I forget the others!
Should be noted "Ooh, baby, baby" was Smokey Robinson, "La, La, La" was the Delfonics, and I forget the original artists for the other two! Someone will know!!!!
:D
Anthony Boerio: Anthony, "Cool Jerk" was by The Capitals, while "I'm So Proud" was by The Main Ingredient. You have a nice day.
edwin santos im so proud is written by curtis mayfield for his band the impressions, main ingredient did a great version though
The Empressions (I'm so Proud) and the Capitols (Cool Jerk)
@@edwinsantos7937 I'M SO Proud was the Im,pressions before that, featuring Curtis Mayfield. Pure Chicago.
Iz God
But Daddy , It's Smokey!
Haha I know exactly what your saying. I remember that commercial would come on back in the day, and me and my brother and sister would say that to my dad all the time whenever we were blasting his songs. But dad it's just SMOKEY!!!!!!
Oh man those good old days....
I'm the only 24 year old in the comments
27 year old here! And i'm from Argentina 😅
Nice taste kids
17 and Todd is the goat
