That's an amazing splice where Smithy transforms and then immediately explodes.
I like how the Smithy Gang Weapon Bosses all have slightly more cinematic intros than most of the other bosses, really solidifies their status as the main antagonists of the game.
First boss: You face a couple of kidnappers.
Secret boss: you face a deity
Basically Kirby except instead of Kidnappers, it’s usually a Tree.
I think this is one of the only RPGS out there where the final boss ISN’T an eldritch deity of unimaginable horrors.
This game honestly did have a lot of boss fights and it's cool that they gave so many of them their own battle intros
When I saw Smithy's intro I was stunned and I love it. Love how he uses the Sledge in his intro and Culex intro just send chills down my spine. Witness the power of 3D!
PS: If you use Thought Peek on a crystal, I think is the earth one, it says "Personally, I'd never felt the need to become three-dimensional" I think it is so funny xD
Considering the fact that the Earth Crystal has the most HP than the other crystals
"The Eye is protecting Exor". Can't wait for that boss battle!
These animations are beautiful but they would be much better with sounds
@@charismaentertainer1657Even though there is a sound with the slam, the fact that he laughs but no sound effect comes out is so awkward. Even if there were computer made Pokemon cries I feel that'd be better than nothing.
The animation and sound design for Smithy's intro are top notch.

Metallix: Do I have to reintroduce myself to you dorks again? 🤨
It’s impossible to have anything relating to the Axem Rangers without SMBZ being referred to lol
1:15 if all these intros had sound effects like this, it would have been SO MUCH better
I didn’t know the Axem Rangers originated from this game lol, I only knew about them from SMBZ
Wait until I tell you about the Koopa Brothers!
...
They're from Paper Mario
@@Wendy_O._Koopa knew about them already, the first two Paper Mario games are masterpieces
Well yeah they only updated their 16-bit of Mega Man X design in smbz
These we're truly a major step up and been dyin' to see somethin' like these In awhile! We're eattin' good tonight, folks!
Anyone else find it weird the Czar Dragon and Smithy are the only bosses with sound effects in their intros?
I love these intros so much, it's really cool how they fit in the personalities of the bosses in just a few seconds
Hoooooooooooooooly F... this´s amazing man. Cant wait for tomorrow
I love how the camera zooms out straight to the combat, that's a smooth transition
I wish they used sound effects. They’re so awkward without them
These were a nice touch, I love this remake
Facts: It was supposed to have cutscenes with animation and bosses.
But the staff told it took too long to finished, and expensive before remaster begins.
Honestly, I can understand them, maybe the final result of the remake was beautiful (taking into account that the original version is a game from 1996, 27 years ago and from there the game was in limbo due to things that happened at that time with Nintendo and Squaresoft , that this remake came out is a miracle)
Cool idea. Music loops well
1:10 "Ohohohohohoh! I'm back!"
I cannot see the Axem Rangers and not think about how Mecha Sonic treated them...
What I find interesting is how you can tell which bosses they really wanted to emphasize with these intros. Those being the Smithy Gang, and Culex. Most of their intros feel like actual cutscenes, while the others feel like small, well, intros. Not that the others are bad, and I actually like it because it makes the Smithy Gang (and Culex) feel just that much more imposing. My personal favorite has to be Smithy's though. That slam of Sledge right on time with the music is just perfect.
So many great character designs
Cool intros
Camera almost can't follow Jinx's movements, it's funny.
Boomer's intro is my favorite since he ligit s-s-s-samurai SLICE the screen into the battle 🥷
Awesome
This is great but it can be better if they have sounds

Super Mario RPG: Hey FF can I copy your homework
FF: sure, but make it look different
Super Mario RPG: Ok
Hehehe, these nice additions.
Hm, i wonder how a Sequel to this would be like?
Since the Axem Rangers are back, i've been thinking in a crossover like this, imagine the Axem Rangers fighting against the King-Ohgers:
- Kuwagata-Ohger and Spider-Kumonos VS Axem-Red
- Tombo-Ohger VS Axem-Green (since there's no Axem-Blue, of course)
- Kamakiri-Ohger VS Axem-Yellow
- Papillon-Ohger VS Axem-Pink
- Hachi-Ohger VS Axem-Black
Or...
A team-up between the Axem Rangers and Psycho-Rangers.
You know, something like that.
Okay so I don’t plan to play this game, what in the world is that thing at 2:51 😭
That's the optional super boss of the game, Culex. You don't have to fight him, but doing so grants a decent reward. Culex is essentially one big reference to the Final Fantasy series. Magic elemental crystals are a recurring plot point for multiple entries, with evil forces attempting to siphon their power. The series was developed by Square Enix, who often partners with Nintendo for various projects.
Culex is a superboss from Super Mario RPG for the Super Nintendo. The game had pre-renderized 3D graphics (Basically they created 3D models in a computer, then made 2D sprites with those models and then traslated those sprites to the Super Nintendo) so, they added a joke with Culex about he being a 2D warrior/demon from a Final Fantasy like game visiting a 3D world and challenging Mario and his friends to a battle. This is why he looks so out of place, even in the Super Nintendo he had a 2D sprite similar to the ones used in Final Fantasy games, compared to Mario and his friends having pre-rrenderized 3D.
The remake preserved that fight with 2D Culex fighting against a fully 3D Mario and his friends, but also added a rematch with Culex finally becoming 3D and unleashing his true power, Culex 3D.
They look like Peashooters from pvz but in a Power Ranger outfit lol
I was 10 when the og game came out...was hooked from day one...and I would play and beat the original every few years...was super excited for this one...was it easier yes...but they made up for that with those boss refights...took me at least 10 tries to beat 3d culex...love the original and love the remake.
I wish that some of them made a bit of noise
I can’t be the only one who thinks these are all oddly quiet and without sound effects.
All that's missing is Borderlands-style name cards!
there should have been more sfx used in this
Wow
Porque rayos tiene el tema de boss de final fantasy 4?, le queda epico❤
I still dislike how most of these have no sound attached to them and they just kinda pose there awkwardly in the silence. It's the only problem I have with the game, everything else was great. This also goes for the general dialogues in the game.
they made the Axem Rangers from Super Mario Bros Z into real Mario characters
Wheres the neo axem rangers?
birdo have ring ?
2:53 Ok that last one sound like Kingdon heart music.😅
And no wonder why: the composer for Super Mario RPG is Yoko Shimomura, who also composed the soundtrack of Kingdom Hearts! She has quite a distinct style, right?
I believe though that the final fantasy 4 boss theme was not composed by her, but she definitely must have rearranged it for this remake
Uhhh... It's almost mute
wtf johnny has eyes in his mouth
Well the more you relise he is wearing a shark costume so yeah johnny is not a shark but something diffrent
@@atqawardhana4627 just thought his eyes were lifeless being a deep sea shark and all lol
I googled can shark blink and close there eyes and i see what you mean
Smbz
They couldn't even bother to add some STX to the cut scenes? I'd love to have a job where i could get paid to do nothing and cut corners doing it
CULEX LOOKS FREAKING AMAZING, HOLY CRAP!
That’s why he was saved the best for last
Plus he’s the secret superboss after the main game anyways. Beware his preemptive!
