  • We did this hike in late June 2023, just in the prime of the peak water season after the historic 2022-2023 winter. It made the Mist Trail awesome (and wet) to hike up and added a whole new dynamic to the hike! This hike requires a permit so please do not attempt this hike before acquiring a permit! This hike is also very difficult and is not for everyone. If you realize that you weren't in shape for the hike halfway up the cables, you can put yourself and those around you in danger. People have died attempting this hike, so make sure you are in shape for it. Otherwise, ENJOY THE VIDEO AND DON'T FORGET TO LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE CONTENT FROM YOUR FAVORITE DUDES!

I did that hike on June 5th and it was so exhausting to just get to those cables! 8 miles up... and then the 8 miles back to the car! That Mist Trail was awesome with so much water.

I climbed up to Half Dome twice 1980’s. At the top and edge of Half Dome. I remember asking my sister to hold my feet, or put pressure on my calves, so I could look straight down to Yosemite Village bellow. Even doing that, it felt like I would fall.. My brothers went up the face of Half Dome. I climbed up to Vernal Falls, and Nevada Falls, several times.

Have you hiked Mt Whitney as a day hike? Wondering how Half Dome compares

Not yet. Although I’ve heard Whitney takes more out of you. It’s much longer distance wise and much higher elevation.
