@XXX I am speaking about geography. Slovenes are South Slavs and genetic tests show that they aren't any different than Serbs and Croats. Greeks are closest to Serbs out of South Slavs (best friends, long history together, lot cultural similarity, same religion).
@XXX you obviously don't know about historical and political relations between balkan countries if you think Bulgaria is closer to Greece than Serbia, Greece and Serbia have close bilateral friendship that dates back ages ago, since 7th century, Greece was the only country in NATO during Yugoslav Wars which completely refused to assist in bombing or damaging Serbia, furthermore there were Greek volunteers during the war on Serbian side, Greeks don't go to Bulgaria or any other balkan country significantly, it's the other way around, and by that, more Serbs go to Greece procentually than Bulgarians, and Greece is the 1st destination for Serbian tourists, Greeks in places like Lefkada and Leptokaria speak Serbian because of Tourists, secondly, saying that Serbs have no cultural relations with Greeks is very wrong, we both share common faith, common values, common balkan food, common mentality, common history especially, and first Serbs literally firstly settled in Greece, place today called Kastoria in central Greece, Greeks and Italians have as much in common as Greeks and Serbs, just in different ways
@XXX I can't believe what nonsense you just wrote. There is a lot of people in Serbia with blue eyes. You don't have idea about our countries. You have genetic tests done, South Slavs have same blood, but yes according to genetic tests Hungary, Romania and Austria have almost identicall blood with South Slavs. I saw a lot Slovenes, Croats and Serbs and there is none differece between them, there is no way you can tell who is who. Greece is in no way closer to Bulgaria. Greece best friend is Serbia and vice versa.
What it has to do with ethnicity? I would be surprised if Romaniens didn't have any genetic connection to Slavs, but this Is LANGUAGE, why u brouth ethnicity? Different? Don't pretend it's different because you want to have your "Croatian/Bosnian" language. The same language is spoken in all of ex-Yu and Bulgaria.
As a turkish guy I always wondered, are you bosnians really muslim as we say? I've heard balkans were non-religious because of the mentality there and your communist past, is it true? (No offense intended)
@bruceefta Thanks for the answer, from what I've seen it's crazy how many turkish people have balcan ancestry. I've heard many balkan and slavic muslims migrated to Turkey after facing discrimination but I feel like both sides just want peace now. Those migrants kept their cultural identity like names (Alya, Sibel, Dua, etc) clothes or even ceremonies like dancing styles during weddings. It goes to show how diverse the middle east is.
@@disco_depression as a Bosnian I felt obligated to answer. Yes some Bosnians are not religious mostly a mentality/ex-Yugoslavia thing but a very large portion is religious to a certain extent. some go the full length with religion and some just do the basics and then the non-religious are either atheist or just don't care. like 90 percent of Bosnian Muslims drink alcohol and smoke anyway so that could be a reason as to why. I myself am not super religious but I respect my beliefs and love my Muslim brothers and sisters yet I stick with the Slavic culture since it is in my blood. but for the most part yes decently religious.

Pointless to have SRB,CRO and BIH in the same video. Pretty much same language with different dialect. People usually have hard time to guess Russian from south Slavic languages, let alone CRO/SRB/BIH.
But it's the dialect and pronounciation that makes difference between "sexy" and "not sexy languages" for example even with the same lagnuage (for example kajkavski dialect(slavonija) and čakavski dialect (dalmatia) can be TOTALLY DIFFERENT. Or even if they aren't from the same town it can make a difference etc.

Yes Romanian is a Romance language but also Balkan. In fact Romania is the only Romance language speaking country in the the Balkans, and together with Moldova (which is actually...part of historical Romania) the only country in Eastern Europe and the only orthodox country in the world to speak a romance language (all the others are catholic)! Pretty interesting right?
Amazing video, thank you for including Balkan languages into the series! My favorite is obviously Numa numa eie.. but if you exclude Romanian, i'd pick Serbian. I always find it sexy when Serbian people speak English with Serbian accent.
Macedonian has such a fun rhythm to it - very dynamic! They also have a lot of turkish words that really spice things up among all those "slavic sounds". Curiously, many Macedonians told me they think the Serbian accent is more beautiful (probably due to music/tv, etc), but I found it to be kinda dull sounding.
Romanian here ours is of course the most different language for the Latin mix but so crazy we look so much alike all this part of Europe guess that Daco Thracian blood runs through all of us

Coming from a balkan country myself (Bosnia), this was pretty funny to see. You can hear some ressemblances, yet hear how DIFFERENT each and every language is from each other. Appreciate the variety of languages, and loved how enthusiastic Neema was! Good job guys!
BOSNIA IS ALBANIA
