Omg the Toot Noodle worked really well, at the end the amount of fluff it blew off of him was amazing. He knew he liked the blowing part he just wasn't going to let you knew. Such a reserved boy. 😶😄🙂

I've seen documentaries of grey timber wolves shedding their thick winter coats.
As the temperature warms, the poor things suffer through the heat of the day with the thick partial old coat still attached and they go crazy rolling around on the grass trying to get it off.
They even walk through thick bushes to try and scrape the old fur off. They must be so relieved by the time the old coat finally sheds.
My GSDs never liked being brushed but they sure liked it when all that old itchy coat came off, plenty of happy zoomies would ensure.
Key's not sure if he's okay with the blower or not but I reckon he feels better every time you remove all that loose fluff, though he'll never admit it.
Key certainly seemed to like his grooming with the blower😊 maybe next time outdoors? Can't imagine doing this in the living room, the fluff would go everywhere.

If you take that outside you will have much less clean up inside. The birds will use the fur to line their nests as well so it's a win for everyone.

"Toot noodle"! "It toots? So gross"! That made me laugh. I am impressed however at how (mostly!) well-behaved Key is, sometimes I know he is a cheeky rascal, but he is a very well-behaved boy really!

I think Key liked it. He definitely wasn't bothered by the sound; I thought for sure that might bother him. But he seemed to tolerate it well enough to not want to just run out of there.
He looked so hilarious trying to bite the air from the blower. LOL But even then he never seemed like he was getting aggressive or anything. It was just another thing to try to play with. LOL
It's incredible how quick Key adapts and just get used to new things. 40 seconds or so, before he stood still and accepted it?
I remember my parents tried something similar with our dogs when I was a kid (leonbergers, huge dogs with LOTS of fur to shed) and they just weren't having it. 2 hours of the dogs running away, and acting like they were going to die. In the end my dad just gave up and brushed them the normal way.

We had a collie, we had the same issue with, it would get matted if we didn't keep up on it, one expensive trip to the groomer meant we kept up with it from then on. Especially the tail feathers, as the groomer called them, only we had a carding comb, nothing near as tech as a toot noodle. Key liked it, you're right, he didn't run away.
Good job biscuit giver wasn't around to see all that butt fluff in the air! 😳 Keys face! 🌬🌬🌬😌

10 minutes of Fluff blowing followed by 1 hour of vacuuming... probably with Key complaining about you throwing away his precious fluff! So funny you had to use high speed to get his fluff off him and him trying to bite the toots. You two always make my day! Take care.

Glad Key put up with it so well. I been using a blower for over 20 years now and I found once the dogs gets over the noise, they love it and it is so quick compared to combing it out. I recommended that you do this outside. My back yard is white for a few days until the birds pickup all the fluff!

Have you ever seen the channel "Girl with the Dogs?" She regularly uses a blower, but she also uses what she calls a "Happy Hoodie" that goes over the dogs head and protects their ears from all the wind noise. It also works to help calm dogs that are freaked out by the blower. Worth looking into, maybe.

Here's a Shedtember ideal. A vacuum with a comb attachment. The down side.You'll need a dust bag the size of a small closet hold all the fluff.

I had really good luck adding a happy hoodie to the dog blower combo. My lab at least really objects to that much wind In her ears and it helps with the noise. I have also stuck the machine on the other side of the door to help cut down the volume and just had the tube outside with the dog. I do blow outside when I can LOL
Key knows how to get a job done, a little bit of work, a little bit of play, a little bit of work, a little bit of play. Key seems to adapt to things like this very quickly. When I was a kid we had a beagle that we had to put in another room when we ran the vacuum because she would literally attack it. To her credit, she did rip off some bumpers and wheels. 😂

Key definitely prefers brushing. Much more relaxing than a noisy blower, and he gets a peanut butter licki-mat. With the blower Key gets nothing, and we all know Key must be paid! 😊 I don't think he was too keen on the blower being used in the same spot for quite a long time either.

The weather of September has been unusually so HOT this year in Southern California.
Our “Akita” has the same problem.
I take her to a “Self Serve” bath spa. It usually takes (3) hours to wash her and dry her.
After she was really good and Wet. I give her the first wash then use the course water jet to loosen the hair which usually just comes out in clumps by this time. I rinse and condition then blow dry her which makes the whole pet spa fill up with her hair.
The sound of the rushing high pressure air hurts their ears Jodi.
Try the water jet after first wash and see how much hair comes off. You won’t believe it!!!!

That thumbnail is soo funny! Our dog hated the hairdryer so he would have to be air dried. Not good in cold weather. So funny when Key tried to eat the air! Been away in Wales for my birthday so been catching up on Key’s antics!

Seems to me a lot of time and hassle can be spared by simply brushing him. ..but it was fun to watch Key go nuts :)
I read in the comments section on the ‘Girl washes dogs’ (I think that’s her channel name 🤔), she grooms dogs, something along the lines of that apparently there’s a company that uses dog hair to use as compost for the ocean. I can’t remember exactly what it was or how it works but dog hair is supposed to do something good for sealife. If that’s the case Key might be the saviour some fishes need!😋 or maybe there’s a husky fishy swimming around out there
It's too bad Dyson Vacuums doesn't make a blow out vaccume for our furbabies.. They really would make one that is both safe & powerful - to make our fur babies happy & allow their gorgeous coats and make for an easier transition time..
The Toot machine, LOL, has now caused you to double the work, NOT WORTH IT. Key was enjoying the blow dryer.
Try him with a leaf blower! My Aussie tried to bite it and she did same as Key - wide mouth with the cheeks flapping! So funny but I think she was trying to protect me.

This video really blows and the end sucks 😜😜😜 But Key is always adorable!!!! @JodieBoo would a vacuum brush (like a flowbee for dogs) be better? Not sure if there is one, but it might help with the fluff instead of blowing and vacuuming? Would the vacuum that you used at the end be able to get the fluff from Key better than blowing it all around? Of course as long as it doesn't hurt or bother Key. Just thought it might be less on you for cleanup. However, for videos this is wonderful!!! 💜💜💜💜
