I have read that older bags will bubble, that was my biggest concern but I hand washed mine and tried to limit soaking it too long on the water and used a milder/softer brush. Thankfully it didn't bubble. Used a laundry mesh and spin dried to remove excess water then air dried it. Do not put under direct sunlight. The output? It looked like brand new again ☺️
Very helpful! I have a lilac coloured Longchamp backpack that’s gotten a little dirty on the bottom/at the corners like your backpack, so now I feel confident to clean it without ruining it!
I would caution against putting an older Longchamp in the washing machine. It will likely bubble and the fabric will separate from the plastic. The hand washing works great.
I left some food item in my longchamp backpack for God knows how long. When I found it, I didnt even know what the item was in there that rotten. Anyway, the bag STANK SO BAD!!! I didnt even think twice and threw the bag in the washing machine because I remember hearing that they are washable from someone. The smell didnt go away first wash, then I washed it AGAIN in the washing machine on regular. The smell STILL DID NOT GO AWAY! I had tossed the bag in a corner for over two years now, came across it last week, and guess what. NO SMELL! Although there is a weird stain on the inside, Im just glad the smell is gone. I was thinking of throwing it out. In any case, just wanted to say - you can actually wash these.

Hi Charlotte. I have a Longchamp and put kn the floor in the back seat of my new car and it got black grease all over it from where the car seat slides on the metal rails. I Googled how to clean and and it said WD40 & then baking soda and scrub. It worked! Try it on the remaining black spot you have. XO Megan

I have the paper la plieage and there is a black greasy stain (more of a thin line). I tried cleaning with water and some basic hand soap. It has lightened a bit. But I hope it goes completely. Any suggestions on how I get the remaining stain out?
Oh I forgot a little advice, please don’t wash your bags frequently, that will separate the fabrique from the plastic layer inside, and I know you wont like them anymore! Speaking of experience 😒 . 😘😘😘
Help! Does the cleaning technique also work on mold stains in the bag? YES in time it will. I never had it happen to me because I NEVER throw anything in the washer with leather because water and leather doesn't go well together. A friend of mine have thrown hers in the washer twice and the bag started to bubble between the outside and inside of the bag 😲

Late to the video, but my Le Pliage has a coffee stain all over the bottom and about two inches up all around the bag. Got a new travel mug and apparently I didn't put the top on tight enough and it leaked - alot. I'm really hoping it will come clean so I appreciate your tips!

Yes. I washed my Longchamp Like many times and even iron it after dry. However, you may want to use a gentle detergent as it may remove the shine of the leather.

Longchamp is the best - especially the Le Pliage lines are all TDF. Foldable, roomy, lightweight, pretty...plus the pricing is incredible for what you get.
Omigosh my stomach when you said you put them through the washer!!!! I'm shocked the leather still looks good. Can you scotch guard them now, do you think? I wonder if that would keep them cleaner/be asked to clean?
I did that on my white longchamp and the leather bleeded and ruined the fabric when it was drying. So sad. Be careful. It may not work with every piece.
Le Pliage leather can take a beating, my LPs have gotten soaked in the rain so many times I can't count. A short spin in the washing machine won't do much damage to it.
MILK AND HONEY LIFE I think it’s seasonal so maybe they’ll bring it back 🤞 in the meantime I got the backpack in gunmetal (😴 color comparatively) but I love the size!

I used to work at Longchamp. This is the Worst advice. Never put ur longchamp Le Pliage bags in the washing machine. We used to get clients getting upset that their bag was ruined. Putting it in the washing machine will ruin the leather parts and lining will start to detach and start to see bubbles on the bag. Handles and flap is real leather. Leather should never be dipped in water. Maybe pat cleaning. Only use a rag and a dishwashing soap to clean.
Roenne Rufino she actually went on to use one but I posted before I saw that part! you can get at target/amazon in cleaning supply aisle, they work wonders on many things including bags! xx

I washed mine with sponge and detergent and it worked as charm. I would not risk ruining leather in the washer.

I did that with my baby blue bag and brown leather colour leaked onto body of the bag.. it’s ruined now (cold delicate wash as well)..

Don't wash too hot! Because the plastic is heat fused to the nylon, it will bubble.....
