in the English-speaking world, "RO" would be pronounced the same as "row" - it's a diphthong; to have the same pronunciation in French, it would need to be spelled *_rohue_* or *_roü_* (and that's without accounting for the differences in "r").
Phonetically, "RO" in French and "RO" in English have nothing in common.

Actually we pronounce the T in Pyrobut but ur right we have a lot of not pronounced letters
so libero actually is a position in both soccer AND volleyball. in soccer, a libero is a special kind of defender who sometimes also joins on the attack. in volleyball, its a position reserved for only one player who constanly leaves and enters the game, he can only ever be in the backrow and he leaves and enters as the rotations move along

French and English have irregular spelling systems partially because both countries developed centralized national bureaucracies earlier than their European peers, which led to the early adoption of standardized spellings that predate widespread, deep linguistic changes. The idea of a "standard German" or "standard Italian" (among others) are more recent historical inventions.

Pyrobut is actually a great name, no joke. "But" means goal, and Pyrobut sounds a bit like "tir au but" which means goal shooting.
