You had a syndra guide a while back that got me on this champ and i went from silver>emerald in a few months. Im watching as soon as i get home! Thx for all the work shok!
Great Guide, i would love a skin suggestion at the end / beginning or what skin you like the most :D. Please do more champion guides, your explanations are so valuable🙏
Thank you for the updated guide! Since Split 3 is coming up pretty soon with a lot of item changes and what not, do you think the patch will change alot about syndra? Im thinking mainly about the 2nd Item and perhaps a more niche spot for syndra in the meta aswell? Do you think you will only be able to pick syndra into squishy comps due to that?
I think on 14.18 its a bit easier to build mpen because you will be solo AP more often with AP jungle nerfs, also the mpen options themselves (stormsurge, shadowflame) are stronger. But it's still somewhat situational imo. I think vsing squishy comps is nice but not required, more important is vsing comps with low engage.
I'm only emerald and new to Syndra in particular, but I tried going Ludens straight into death cap, Ludens into shadow flame, and Ludens into stormsurge. Stormsurge second feels the best to me personally.
don’t play azir in low elo. the champ is way to mechanically intensive to play it there. just play easier champs so you can focus on learning the game/fundamentals more.
29:05 Doesn't the additive stacking nature make Death Cap less valuable? Any other champion buys DC and gets 35% more AP, Syndra on the other hand only gets 30% (1.5/1.15 = 1.3) more AP. It's obviously still a must buy because it's DC, but relatively to other champions it is weaker.
Yeah it seems I misunderstood this a little, I think you can still argue dcap might be more valuable on Syndra due to her being incentivized to get extra ap from other sources (e.g. gathering, eyeball etc) but you're right I guess it's not due to the additive stacking
Seen every proplayer going ludens->stormsurge->rabadon also they play this on worlds currently, seen some pros even rushing stormaurge 1st item but as it is a proplay, does this work for soloqueue too? Or just stick to build you have showed here
What do you think about situations where you have t1 boots + chapter already and you reset with enough for an amp tome and 400 left over, or t2 boots. Are you delaying your first item in order to spend as much of your gold as possible, or do you prioritize that item and just leave base with 400 in your pocket.
dont delay first item spike unless ur against skill shot matchup and need early boots (high elo they go boots rush more often than you should assuming you are not master +!)
Kinda depends what you value higher I guess, T2 spike is bigger immediately whereas the item spike will be bigger in the future. I'd say unless you think you can get super high value out of the boots spike I'd just finish my item
Basically every mid laner loses to Irelia in lane, and you instead just play for teamfights instead. You can play top lane bruisers into it (like Renek, Jax, Yasuo etc) or you can play something that can CC it heavily in fights (Cass, Vex, Taliyah) but there isn't really a great mid lane counter imo. Maybe Akali is decent?
Is it still true that your e balls drop faster if you throw them backwards? Basically instead of her having to throw the ball over her head, if you turn your model around the e moves behind syndra which is closer to your target so it lands faster. Thanks
Suggestion for these types of videos: Go over builds quickly in the beginning and then add more in depth nuances about them at the end. I think gettng to the gameplay quicker will make these vids more digestible.
I've thought about doing something like this, having some sort of cheat sheet at the start for runes/items, but I've always figured people can just click on the timestamps anyway, maybe I'll try it next time idk
To add to this, i play tons of Syndra and the items and ruins niche paths make lots more sense to me now, then when i was a beginner so keep them in but maybe yea move them
Could you make a Zoe in season 14? I've been struggling recently on her since luden's echo was replaced and I don't know how to play her properly anymore ever since Hwei came out. Hwei and Zoe have very different playstyles.
I still don't understand the appeal for 10% attack speed, even provided your explanation. How is the haste or flat ap just just not significantly better given Syndra already good wave clear?
just small things like being able to auto faster than the turret to secure ranged minions without prepping them fist, being able to push without spending mana, being able to get more autos in in trades, it's really huge imo, laning without as shared makes me feel like playing with a handicap whereas I don't really notice the effect of 5ah or 8ap
If you have no flat AS and your opponent does, you will normally lose prio on the first 3 waves = level 2 later than your opponent, also level 3 later than your opponent, so trading will be hard = you lose first base = GGs
Hi, I like your guides but I think you should present the abilities before going over the itemization... here for example you talk about Splinters during items but only explain what they are after the items when you explain the abilities. Its more difficult to visualise the usefulness of items when we don't yet know what the abilities do, I think.
You can't weigh the value of healing reduction by the amount of healing it reduced. Imagine you kill the Draven, because your antiheal item shaved off 50hp from a Soraka heal, which is the difference between Draven dying and Draven killing everybody. It can be the difference between Mundo dying and Mundo being full hp. It's not about total, it's about impact.
Right, but you have to think about antiheal in terms of damage dealt. Reducing healing by 50 is the same as dealing 50 extra damage, so if that 800g towards an item creates more damage than healing reduced then it's better to not buy antiheal. My experience has been that having 800g towards my item meaning I have 2nd or 3rd item earlier for key fights adds up to more than healing cut reduces unless I can apply it easy (huge AOE) or have dots to make sure it stays active for longer.

Loving the guides so far and hope to see more in the future

That's a good idea! Best syndra skins imo are Prestige Star Guardian, Justicar, Withered Rose with chromas imo

right as i pick up syndra, ur the goat shok
what about the buffed stormsurge, dont you think it would be good as a second item if you are solo ap? i feel like syndra apreciattes de ms a lot
I actually forgot about this item because its been trash for so long, but yeah it might be good as a shadowflame alternative
@@ShokLeague A lot of players on pro builds are rushing it first, is that good to do now?
Sorry I was reading it wrong and they are building it after a mana item

What would you say, generally, changes at the diamond level that tips the matchup more into Yone’s favor? Cheers
People get better at dodging skillshots/abusing fleet movespeed and the crazy sustain provided by dshield/secondwind/fleet/vamp scepter

imo flat pen rush can be good if you're solo AP, otherwise if you're not solo AP just play a normal luden > situational > dcap build

what do you think mid worlds meta is going to be? still corki/tristana/smolder? maybe some ryze, syndra?
If it's AP champs I'd expect Liss/Ahri/LB/Aurora, maybe Syndra Ori counterpicks. AD champs I could see Smolder Trist Yone still
When do you buy liandries second? In the teamfight clips you had it against teams with only 1 tank or no tanks
I was buying it a lot in the warmogs support meta, pretty much every game tbh, now there is less warmogs so I haven't bought it as much lately

in free matchups i like to skip a pot, 50g is nice to save.

anyone wondering about triumph treasure hunter? could run a dark seal to accelerate faster to 1st 2ed item?

perfect timing

No, Syndra heavily outscales + bullies lane and can disengage from him with her E. Certain combos e.g. Jarvan + Galio can be really hard though
