Nice work brother, but your mic location is wrong, because you set the mic in centre in reed board . Mic cache centre reed sound is over and othe reeds sound is low cache .
Your doubt is right but I've used Omni Directional condenser microphone, It catches surrounding sound equally I didn't face such problem while live program
