It had a Borders bookstore on the first floor and basement until they went out of business. The department store was not big enough, so they actually had annexes to some of the floors that went into the adjacent building. The floors didn’t line up so there were ramps and I think stairs. The small building out back was called the pantry, and had Frango mints and other upscale food items for purchase.
Our family used to shop at that store all the time. Back in the day, it had Touch Sensitive hall call buttons with lighted rings around them.

It was not a Macy's this store closed in 1984. It was a beautiful store, this branch store opened in the 1920s.
