Kafka has a core that looks like a human heart. That's what shinomiya meant when he said "if what you had was the frail heart of a human". It was because of it being a core that he was able to survive that encounter(other than kaiju no 8 taking over)

100% My Most enjoyed Anime so far this year, Its crazy I went in thinking no way in Hell am I gunna wanna continue past Episode 1 just didnt appeal too much to me at first, But thought okay hearing good things Ill give it a shot, Been locked in ever since just hoping Series never ends, S2 is gunna be intense cant wait!!

As a manga reader one thing i have a problem with is they did narumi dirty like his hair was supposed to be slicked back not floating in the hair and his eyes were supposed to have crosses in them, general isao isnt that drastic but he looks different than in the manga i mean its a given since it went from a still image to a moving bicture but still general isao's eyes r supposed to have circles in them similar to makima's eyes
Man, even though it was only ten episodes for season 1, it's doing super well right now. I was worried about this series a few years ago when it released and wanted to wait for the anime release. NOW I WANNA READ IT.. oh and Narumis character is def insane, you'll see season 2
