Hey David, im a little confused. The GameJolt page says the demo is cancelled, but just 1 day previous all the updates are extremely possitive for the future and show no sign of cancelling the project the next day?
So is this game still hapenning or is it over?
Yea I'm confused too man. Everything was looking great. We had this publisher that was interested. They were gana pimp the game out acrossed all these sites like Steam, pay the fees for the privilege and take a small cut. The programmer got scared of the paperwork and refused to sign. It was a fantastic opportunity but he just wouldn't take it. Obviously I couldn't force him and that difference in opinion basically destroyed the game.He wanted to do some shit like I take the deal and turn around and pay him his share separately or something ( You know, in case the deal went tits up only I go down for it ) and it got really shifty really fast and I basically told him to take a hike. I mean he wasn't going to be able make the deadlines I set since the beginning, work flow was slowing down it was turning into a mess with it all. He's a good guy and all but the legal stuff which should have really saved the day ended up derailing the whole thing. Basically no more partners, I'm doing everything in future projects myself to make sure it gets done right and on time.
So the GAME in it's entirety is off, BUT the DEMO is actually live right now. You can probably get a good 15-20 minutes, maybe longer out of what's there, it just basically tapers off where we meant to finish, but couldn't so I released it and I'm moving on.
Thanks for opening up David, I'm sorry things turned out how they did. There's a lot to be said about learning from a bad situation.It's great to see you take it with such positivity, to turn it on it's head and embrace it in order to better yourself.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with going forwards :)
I appreciate that man, and I'm totally moving forward. Just a bump in the road, looking forward to doing more ( solo ) projects. The soundtrack will be hitting the game page eventually, some pretty neat custom tracks never made it to the game so maybe check that out if your interested.
