I saw them live a few times - great watching these videos - they are as good as I remember them. My first ever interview was backstage with them at ULU. Now in 2022 I'll be playing with a new version of Swell Maps and we will be having David Keegan as a guest with us!
When I was 16, I played the album with the photofit sleeve over and over again. ad nauseum. I still sing some of the songs to myself now and again and im 52!
I was in the crowd that night. Support was by The Heart Throbes and Jesses Garcon. The latter being one of the worst bands I have ever seen. If I remember correctly Dave Keegan helped them out as it was totally shambolic. The Shop Assistants were great live. Fond memories.

Beautiful.
Saddened by the fact that I never did see then live. :-(

I WAS THERE !

that steady voice in contrast to the quick instrumentals is bliss
The soundtrack to being 16 for me. Alex Taylor gone but not forgotten
Fantastic
Ramones worship was quite common in Scottish twee pop.
Jangle-Pop at his best. Short, incisive, perfect tune.
What a great band! 🙆
Feckin brilliant.
Brilliant!
Remember seeing these live in Reading in 86, class night!
Were they better in person?

Very thankful some live footage remains. Alex left us way too soon.
