    It's not a fake harley. It's a real yamaha. As a rice burner fanatic, coming from dirt bikes and fast streetbikes, my natural evolution was to a v star 1300. I chose it over this for great gas mileage. I love my yamaha!

  • @LCon30
    @LCon30 4 роки тому +4

    I own a 2014 Strat S, and it's basically a Roadliner most of the time, and a fully touring Stratoliner when I need it to be. I have two different height windshields, (Memphis lowers for buffeting), and a full-face helmet for riding without one at all, obviously the sissy bar is detachable, and I made the bags truly detachable without that ugly ass bar underneath.
    With the back seat removed, it just looks like a monster, -especially after I lowered it-, and with aftermarket exhaust and updated intake this thing screams.
    I've told plenty of Harley dudes that if they want me to own a Harley so bad, let's race for pinks.

    I just bought a 2006 a few days ago after not riding for years. Fell in love with it immediately, even through she promptly reminded me that I have a lot of ring rust to shake off before I can really handle her. The throttle feels a little touchy and turning at low speed is a little dicey for me, but my comfort and confidence levels are increasing quickly. Btw, I'm 5'7" and have no trouble with comfort or holding her up while stopped. The hardest part was just figuring out the sweet spot for feathering the clutch and throttle. Can't wait to get home from work this morning and take her out for a before-bed spin.

    I test rode a 2012 Roadliner a couple of summers ago: beautiful and powerful bike, but the one thing it absolutely needed was a windshield. I tried to find a Stratoliner to test ride for comparison but never did. It also needed a sixth gear. My 1600 Nomad cruises at a lower rpm on the highway than the Roadliner--which is probably why I didn't aggressively look for a Strat to test ride.

    i know this is an older video, but man Sean i wish u could try the new Vmax. the wheels easily spin in the first 3 gears. high 9s low 10s in the 1/4 mile stock

      The Vmax is a scream but honestly its a V4 and it is in a different category from a V-Twin

    • @seanbutler2291
      @seanbutler2291 4 роки тому

      @@schreilavoge i dont see an issue here. The category is muscle bike/ performance cruiser. Vmax is king. The only reason i wrote that is in the video he says maaaybe the vmax beats this..... no the vmax easily beats its pants off

    All Yamaha had to do on this bike was add a 6th gear and abs and it would have continued to sell. The 0-60 video shows that this bike with the Cobras may not be a comfortable highway cruiser at 80 mph. I still may get one after watching this video though....impressive machine for cheap $$$

    • @Atreyas
      @Atreyas 6 років тому +5

      I've cruised down the highway at 120 and it's just as smooth as it is at 80. It doesn't need a 6th gear. If you can find one for around $5k, it is the best value you're ever going to find in a big cruiser.

  • @jamesemond7290

    I test rode the Roadliner last summer. It has a lot of power but it needs a 6th gear. Yamaha was crazy to put a 5 speed in this bike, or they should have geared it like the Road Star. My 1600 Nomad is more comfortable and geared better for the freeway.

      All big v twins should have a 6th gear. My roadstar needs one too.

    That is one seriously deep rumble from that motor. No Harley is going to match that sound haha, a 111 motor Indian might get close.

    Didnt Kawasaki make a competitor like this around 02/03? It was also like a 1900cc. Looked like a Dreamliner.

    I had a 2007 Stratoliner. The countershaft pulley nut can come loose Usually after 20k miles. Yamaha allowed the warranty repair after major finagling as mine came loose and did damage. Tends to go through tires. Never got more than 6k out of any tire. A selling point was the balanced chassis which practically meant tires tended to wear out front and back at the same time. It really needed a 6th Gear and ABS. I do miss taking the seat off with a key. I had 65k and 10 years on the bike. The bags on the Strat really were not worth the money. Buy a Roadliner and do aftermarket bags.

    I test rode one l couldn’t believe how balanced it was the torque is awesome the ride is excellent but when l went on freeway seemed like it’s geared low for how much engine it has. They also told me it has a valve in the exhaust called an exup valve supposedly makes more power or something

    Models can come and go without realizing it.
    Oh well, the bike is entire wheel assy longer than mine, a deal breaker with my narrow garage/drive setup
