A lot may have hated Wang Wook, but for me, he is one of the most layered characters in the drama despite the fact that he is only a supporting character. A lot of people hated him for choosing his family over Haesu, but in reality, his choices were really difficult. Would you let your family be stripped off their title and might probably subject your mom and sister to death (because of treason), or just give up on the girl you love? A lot of people calls him a coward. But Haesu knew it when she told him in the end that -"It was fate. It was destiny. Just let it go." The main theme of Scarlet Heart Ryeo is the futility of our actions against destiny. Haesu realized it when Lady Court Oh sacrificed herself (if you would notice, Haesu transformed from being a stubborn girl to a woman who just goes with the flow). Instead of hate, I feel sadness for Wang Wook. He is a man defeated by fate and his incapability to fight for what he wants slowly drained his life (he is the only one who aged drastically in the end). huhuhu
I wonder why hae soo break up with wook just because he wanted the throne or he left her alone in rain without trying to know why he did so 😥 why she fell in love with Wang so just because he helped her like come on, he helped you because hae soo helped cover his scars
Because when she wanted to run away with him he chose the throne and wang so chose her and wanted to be the king for her Wang wook slowly killed mo and was the reason eun died, he changed alot
i have watched this drama a number of times and i stiil don't get it why hae soo chose wang so over wang wook. i mean he's been there for her even from the start. she could've been more understanding especially his personality is a lot different than wang so who'd never care what others would say. i also hate the fact that wooks mother never fulfilled her promise to myunghee to let the two get married. if it did happen we wouldn't be left with a broken heart that wouldn't heal for ages. my heart bleeds for wang wook.😭😭
