N.W.A. called themselves the world’s most dangerous group. I can tell you that, due to one of their songs and lyrics, a member of federal law enforcement wrote an angry letter to their record label. But that sort of thing just elevated their status and cred.
Well, that’s not how I feel about the genre. I consider it valid artistic expression, whether or not a group makes a ton of money, or if they do or don’t have any actual criminal ties. I believe DMX was once arrested for impersonating a law enforcement officer. While I am personally against that act, it’s not a move that can be dismissed as just entertainment by a poser.
The police lights that attached was common especially for unmarked and undercover police cars back in the day. Also i was still rocking with NWA even when cube left. I was rocking with both it wasn't either or with me like it is these days. I was listening to nwa, public enemy, kid and play different styles of rap and storytelling. I think that's whats missing today is that everything is talking about the same thing on the streams and radio. It was more diverse in the mainstream. now for diversity you got to listen to underground rap to get that. We could be gangsta one minute then political the next and enjoy fun house party rap at the same time
Yo man, nice reaction! Btw u should definetly check out Big L, man. Crazy lyricist MC from NYC, R.I.P. I would suggest the 95 freestyle with Jay Z, also "Put It On", "All Black", "Lifestylez ov da Poor and Dangerouz"
Sorry brother this ain't the uncensored version... they drop F bombs pretty much from the start. Hey copy and paste this link for the uncensored version it will be the first one that comes up... shout out to Eduardo Vega - ua-cam.com/video/N6nZRvUgx1g/v-deo.html.
I think you're just going to have to avoid music videos if you want to hear the original songs. 100 miles and running is a classic but not this generic version.

All that, with ZERO radio play.

Please do the LP version. Loved seeing the made for gp video though…never saw until now:)
The part where the DJ give N.WA a shout out. And the DJ plays Martha Reeves "No where to run." That was a reference to the movie "The Warriors."
Abhhh gotcha
That sample that you've inquired about is from the song "Nowhere to Hide" from Martha Reeves & the Vandellas. Great Motown music 👌🏼
NWA never misses
Main sample from.hang up your hang ups by the headhunters

Was my first album, a lot of gangster tracks, but also a lot of fun and skits.

100 Miles & Runnin' was the first CD I ever purchased. And I didn't own a CD player at the time. Still have that CD to this day.
Had this on cassette in '91 or '92. PE on the reverse.

CRASH! Nice one Stax. I appreciate that big time. However it is the clean version without the cussing. Album version is better/real. Si.
