Sanika, I understand the confusion. "Better" depends on what - brand/perception or data. Two very different things. And it boils down to how do you make decisions for yourself generally. Both ways are fine. No judgements. I think I made IIM Udaipur decision also on perception.
Great analysis. But, I have one problem. While you've taken the batch composition of 2022-24, you've analyzed the placement report of 2021-23. Whereas for fees you've taken that of 2024-26. I've noticed that most of the IIMs have gone for gender and academic diversity in their 2022-24 batch, which has greatly affected the batch composition. I would appreciate if you analyse all the aspects of one single batch of all IIMs.

Manoj sir, namastey. Sir, waitlisted 26 looks like a good number but depends on how many buffer calls has the college given. So, if there are too many buffer calls (extra confirmed admission offers) then no one can predict that. One can only know this from an RTI after the admissions are over. Hence, I pray and hope for the best for her 🙂

I would suggest IIMs over them. Same logic as I mentioned in the last part. Extremely low batch size YET not a very high salary. That means better salaries can be taken from IIMs if in the the top 1/3rd of the batch. Which is easy.

Flawed logic of ranking institutes where you just don't have the data. You can't rank them to the same who provide data. Its not level field. Also i wouldn't recommend anyone to select their college based on this rankings cz apparently vizag is the worst acc to this. Talk to seniors of iim such you have converted. Will get you better insights.
True. Do spread this word. One must definitely not follow these 'rankings'. These are anyway baseless. Best to rank colleges on (I) what their own alumni say and (ii) what the perception is, irrespective of the fact that no one knows what that perception is based on. ...And must penalize the stupid institutes who care to present the data - year after year - no matter how good or bad it is. As if spending 20+ lakhs isn't enough and students don't deserve transparency and data. Lack of data is also data. Good luck to you, whoever you are.
@@DarpanSaxena perceptions are made over the years, from the data of long period of time and from people in industry who know a thing or two about whats good and whats bettwr. and not just one year data where an institute is put below others cz there is not the same base to evaluate them on. If there is no data regarding finance placement avg of vizag , there is no base to put that below sirmaur who have published. And not having appropriate data domain wise by these institutes is definitely something to be condemned.

Rohit, in general I would recommend the baby IIMs. DFS and all ka problem is low batch size yet low/comparable average salary. That means in the big batch IIMs (which have the same average), if you stay at the top of the batch, you will get better salaries.

Nagpur is such a over hype.. One of my friends is 23 passout from nagpur.. He was unplaced and now working on off campus job of 7 lpa in pune city... He said his 5 batch mates was unplaced from campus and had to search off campus job..

dont choose a institute based on just sole distance from home , iim sambalpur tand nagpur though has a much much better campus than bodhgaya . you should not carry this weak in maths thing for long mba is always quant intensive . iim nagpur probably is the best shot .
Take sambhalpur if you don't convert iit kgp. Advantage- location, campus, doesn't have multiple courses so batch size is comparatively small from other baby iims

@@DarpanSaxena total tuition fees is 3 lakhs ,batch size 30 and they claim average placement is around 17lakh(I'm doubtful as far as this is concerned). The programme is fairly new ,it started around 2020 so there isn't much data .

I got bodh gaya, iim sambalpur and nagpur also got good waitlist number in vgsom. What should I choose given that I am compatitively quite weak in maths, I don't like too much travelling so which institute shall I choose?
Please help me make a choice.
Also since I am from odisha my family is suggesting to go for iim sambalpur over bodh gaya as location is nearest than that of bodh gaya. Is it correct way to choose among these baby iims with my only iit kgp??
dont choose a institute based on just sole distance from home , iim sambalpur tand nagpur though has a much much better campus than bodhgaya . you should not carry this weak in maths thing for long mba is always quant intensive . iim nagpur probably is the best shot .

Take sambhalpur if you don't convert iit kgp.
Advantage- location, campus, doesn't have multiple courses so batch size is comparatively small from other baby iims

@@DarpanSaxena total tuition fees is 3 lakhs ,batch size 30 and they claim average placement is around 17lakh(I'm doubtful as far as this is concerned).
The programme is fairly new ,it started around 2020 so there isn't much data .
