The Danger Theme (Series 2)

- Опубліковано 29 бер 2021
- Here's another compilation styled video, a collection of The Danger Themes (with the exception of Break Van as that's pretty much the same as TP&tC's version but even shorter). As for the Plunge and Predicament variants, I understand they had Percy's Theme mixed into them but I haven't gotten round to his theme yet. I'll probs do some mixes in the future.

Nice one
The one theme that I love is Thomas comes to Breakfast. It almost sounds like James' theme mixed with the danger theme
for mobile users: 0:01
The 2nd one is my favorite out of the variants
The Evil Dalek 0:20 was used in Breakvan and down the mine
I love that how the snippet of Thomas's theme in the "Thomas Comes to Breakfast" variant was very deliberately off-key
It pairs well with the implication that Thomas was successful in what he was trying to accomplish, but it's still immediately obvious that something is very wrong before transitioning to the main Danger theme once the gravity of the situation sets in
Couldn’t have put it better myself

In the episode, “Po and Zhen replace Judy and Clawhauser” (Read Zooptoia Fanon for more information.) Judy and Clawhauser while chasing the criminal gang on their police car suddenly and without thinking drove the wrong way and this turned out to be because a careless mind worker in their brains fiddled with their consoles’ controls (Referencing Inside Out) they tried to stop driving the car on command but they couldn’t and disaster lay ahead: It was the Otterton family’s house, the Ottertons were about to have breakfast, horrors! Cried Clawhauser and Judy and they shut their eyes, and crashed into the house and it rumbled and shook and Clawhauser and Judy collected a bush and they couldn’t say anything, what a mess!
You'd think the stationmaster would be worried about the lack of buffers right outside his house!
Yeah, him and the barbershop owner!
Then there's his wife who was more annoyed about the toast than an engine taking out a load-bearing wall in the dining room 🤔

Yeah, that’s gonna be a fun year or so with the insurance company and rebuilders! Funny how you look at these episodes in a different way when you’re older!
IKR
You miserable engine! Just look what you've done to our breakfast (WTLNetwork song)
When you suddenly start hearing this walking down the street, you know something bad’s about to happen.
I agree
If I was walking down the street and heard this I would just start looking around for any locomotive. That way I know where NOT to go.
Yes
This music is not only a cue, but a countdown to disaster!
Or when you're in your sitting room eating breakfast
“”Horrors!”, cried Thomas and shut his eyes.”
But it was too late...
The house rocked, broken glass trickled, plaster was everywhere.
Thomas Comes For Breakfast
The station master was furious.
@@mgr_video_productions His wife picked up her plate. "You miserable engine, she scolded." "Just look what you've done to our Breakfast. Now I shall have to cook some more." She banged the door, more plaster fell, this time it fell on Thomas. Thomas was depressed. Workmen proped up the house with strong poles and laid rails through the garden.
This theme always brings a good suspense feel to it. What I love is how the further you go into the track, the more of the feel of danger you can hear 🙂.
That's what the brilliance of Mike and Junior's music was to the Awdry stories. Good written story added with good music and its just the perfect recipe.
Although its a shame that according to Mike O'Donnell himself there was no musical review from Wilbert Awdry himself.
Like a countdown to disaster!
"Fire and smoke!" said Thomas. "I'm sunk!" and he was.
Wrong season there

Percy gets pushed into the sea by the troublesome trucks
Donald crashes into a signal box
Thomas crashes into the Stationmaster's house
Percy gets pushed into a break van and onto a truck by the troublesome trucks
Surely this Danger Theme would've being used for Gordon, Henry, James, Duck, and other engines accidents.

Missed opportunity to use this in Emily’s new route when she crashed the trucks into the duck pond. Fortunately someone edited that scene with this music

Ah yes, nothing like a lil danger theme while eating breakfast
Douglas : Dinna fash yourself, Thomas.
Donald : We'll soon have you back on the rails.
I recently realised something very disturbing about this music. It only played when building up to a crash, so when you heard it a crash wasn’t a possibility, it was inevitable. So it was like they had already crashed 10 seconds before they actually did. This was a messed up show sometimes.
One of the things the composers did very well, was deliver the goods when it came to matching the atmosphere and the characters.
"Horrors" cried Thomas
And shut his eyes

I love the Thomas' Danger theme as my childhood memories music!

HORRORS! Cried Thomas, and shut his eyes
You know you fucked up when this theme starts to play.
Thomas Comes to Breakfast vibes...
I've always associated this theme with Percy - even though it was used for Thomas and Donald.
But if there's one story that the Thomas Comes to Breakfast variation and the two Percy episode variations would've worked for brilliantly and that's Christopher Awdry's Near Miss. Everything about the climax to that annual story just has The Danger Theme written all over it (more so than the Runaway Theme).
6 days later, I get notified.
You're really mastering these S1/2 themes. Keep up
Horrors! Cried Thomas. Complete the rest

@montygolf146 Good job. Your correct
Fun fact: the danger theme, mainly "0:20" was first used in the season 1 episode "Down the mine" but was reused for the "Breakvan" episode in season 2 which is why they sound the same
