Thanks for giving us a taste of the beautiful quality and style of days long gone.....I often wonder what was written and by whom with these pens....A love letter, a goodbye letter, something historic....
I just got one from an antique mall exactly like this one! My cap is beat up but, the sac must have been replaced because it works! Amazing eh? The nib I have is a stiff round medium, is nice! Thanks for sharing mannard!
A lovely restoration, styled after the steam train, I think the taper was supposed to represent perspective, some of these Skyline models have very nice soft nibs, but I think they were more uncommon after the Wahl Doric ceased manufacture, probably because writing with them became too difficult for the average buyer/user. Many thanks for showing us the Skyliner up close ! Chris B.
I have this exact same pen and I love it. I filled it yesterday and it seems to have used the fill by the end of the day. I wasn't sure if it was due to using a drier ink (Diamine Green- Black?) or if I actually use all of the fill. Upon research I found that these pens do indeed carry a smaller amount of ink in one fill and that in order to fill it to capacity you are advised to engage the lever a couple of times to ensure fullness. I'm not sure if my situation was user error or my ink 🤷♀ We shall see! I have a couple of questions maybe you can help me with: * Are the nibs friction fit? I twisted it out to check it and it seemed to be friction fit in, but it's not as tight as a typical friction fit. That gave me pause. I'm kind of worried that it was actually a twist in nib system much like the Esterbrook J series nibs and that maybe that part of my pen was faulty. * How best do you suggest cleaning pens with lever fills? I've been screwing out the nibs of my Esterbooks and flushing them with water to eliminate unnecessary wear to my levers. Is that okay to do with this pen?
These pens take a rather small tapered sac so are not the biggest ink capacity. If the feed has no threads then it is friction fit. Yes just flush any lever fill pens with clear water. Good luck.

@@penkino1 good evening my friend Yesterday I had prepared over 20 pencils and 33 pens and Ballpens unfortunately I could not take pictures for its today because I come late home So I hope that I can do this during the next week greetings
Thats fine no problem, please email them to me when your ready. Just to let you know i would only be interested in fountain pens. I do not collect pencils or ballpoint pens. Many thanks.
I love the Wahl-Eversharp Skyline. I have two of them, one in dark green that is so dark it looks black, and one in brown. I would love to find the executive size eventually. They are wonderful writing pens.
You are very lucky to own the Wahl Eversharp Skyline in the dark green (forest green). A vintage pen dealer in Singapore who is no longer around once mentioned to me that owning a vintage Wahl Eversharp Skyliner is like owning an expensive performance car. He was one of the most versatile pen repairer /restorer who could adjust and fine tune a nib with his bare hands. He owned more than 10 dozens of the Wahl Eversharp in multiple colours in the 1970s. They were from the 1940s - 50s. He sold two - one with the original italic medium nib for a special price of S$50 (app. US$30). Take good care of the pen. It is one of the most well-designed pens of the vintage era.
Does the breather tube fit directly into the feed? Also, would you care to help a brother out and tell me what size sac they use? Restoring my dad's at the moment. Lovely work, by the way.
If i remember correctly yes it does. It really depends on which size pen you have, this will help www.vintagepensacsandparts.com/product.php/4/53/eversharp_skyline_and_5th_avenue_ink_sacs Good luck and stay safe.
Thank you, Stef. I really like the design of these pens and this one is a great example.
Yes i quite like them myself, however i will wait until i come across the larger Executive model. Thanks Anzan.

My dad had one of these with a striated cap in the early to mid 50’s with a matching pencil.
Im sure he loved it to Darold as they are great pens. Thanks for watching.

No problem. Good luck and stay safe.
Disney’s favorite pen 🖋
Interesting, i was not aware of that. Thanks
@@penkino1 I wasn't before today, I did some research in preparation for an animation I'm working on, thank you for making the video!
Well some days ago I received a vintage pilot short fountain pen with a 14k semi hooded gold nib in a pen mail. Actually I'm in the India pen group.
Well done, use it and enjoy it. Thanks.
@@penkino1 I also came to know that my Parker 45 flighter has a cursive italic nib which is sought after by collectors.
You are doing very well, keep collecting and enjoying them.
@@penkino1 do you have any experience with vintage pilot fountain pens?
Unfortunately not, sorry.
which is grammatically correct? An Eversharp pen or a Eversharp pen?
Which ever you prefer, im not sure it makes a great deal of difference. Stay safe
