When you travel in Muslim countries, what you should never miss is the opportunity to take a Turkish bath: Hammam.
My most-viewed UA-cam video documented my first hammam experience in Turkey, where I was slapped and slid around like a tuna.
But as the video got more views, I noticed many people were leaving comments recommending Moroccan hammam.
Since then, I have always wanted to try it but I’d never been to Morocco - until now.
I recently visited Morocco for the first time and tried a traditional Moroccan hammam in Marrakesh, so in this video I’m going to share that experience.

So there were differences between Turkish bath and Moroccan Hamman, definitely would like to try both. The latter sounds classic, healthier with black soap.
the black soap, called "Saboun Beldi" (native soap), is very special because it helps specifically with degreasing and exfoliating dead skin.

hammams existed in morocco way before the existance of the othoman empire , the turks took so many things from morocco which they call fes such as the red hat which is moroccan tarbouch and hammam . the hammam in morocco was influenced by the roman bath since morocco was part of the roman empire .

you should try a traditional Moroccan hamam just for the experience even without filming it, very different experience than what you tried now, the same big lines but very different

I love Moro o and their food and people. You should try outside Marrakech they are more open to tourist specially if you’re a blogger. I mean small city and not very prominent ha am. Usually they have better massage service they ay allow you to film the process. I live there for 6 years I know it will work to other places

You misses a few steps. They pour hot water on you as you enter the steamroom and also after they are done soaping andscrubbing you. Also. cold water in the end.
As a moroccan , I just want a regular shower 😂 the heat in hammams is too much for me

From the video the bath looks pretty relaxing and nice!
But from the explanation of the video I feel like you havent experienced an *actual* morrocan bath that most of us get. The one you visitted was a tourist hammam, yes, but usually the hammams offer scrubbing body with bath glove (after putting the black soap of course) which is probably painful to people who first experience it due to the fact the scrubs are so hard your skin turns red (but dont worry its safe! we morrocans have it as traditional bathe and we are used to it, plus its way cleaner than most baths), after that you do the normal rest of cleaning (cleaning hair and cleaning body) and that's it!
Baths like these takes 1 hour but theyre very relaxing. some hammams even offer tea (or water if you dont like morrocan tea like me, ironically as a morrocan myself lol)
Whoever, I dont recommend you do that bath everyday, because it can harm your skin because of the bath glove! we usually do them once or twice a weak better.
I think you're becoming a hammam/massage/sauna expert. Perhaps this is because of the Japanese love of dipping themselves into natural springs.

Wes, as a moroccan I can honestly say that you tried just a touristic spa with hammam codes. However, the hammam that we go to in the non touristic areas are much more close to the turkish experience: hot steam, and the manly treatment for scrubing, bone cracking, muscle slaps etc.
@@mehdijakani5519to be honest the ritual isn't like the turkish ones they are different.thr stuff we do and all the steps are totally different especially for us women (not sure how it is for men)

man if only you reached out to someone, most Hammams are managed by cool people, majority of them would set up a time where You could come and film the whole experience in a real Hammam, not a Spa-like Hammam.

It's a matter of protecting people's privacy and modesty, you can't film in a traditional hamam where everyone is basically naked and even if it's touristy, most don't want to take that risk. Guess there's no option but to experience it for yourself lol
