Wow Ginger, I just finished watching the tutorial... The Queen of Color did it again, all the beautiful colors in the pair of pears! Everyone should watch this to get all the helpful tips. Thank you Ginger and Jon for another great Monday tutorial. Safe and fun journey, TTFN AH
Watching this beautiful painting video quite late, and particularly amused at the discussion of initiates, vows and Ginger’s hysterical laughter. Must be my Catholic upbringing resonating. Whatever vows are required to be a fan, I will commit! 😂
Hi dearest Ginger & Jon ! It was so nice having you on the Chat before the show ! I am not sure at what time it was on as I had to leave at 1 am as I was not sure if the problem would be solved. Anyway, the great thing is I still got to watch it ! WOW ! Your unique style just makes any painting enticing and it just makes me smile ! The way you gave form to the pears with brush marks going around and forming contours was mesmerizing to watch ! This is the type of tutoring every artist needs and Jon always gives us close up shots on what you are painting!! These tutorials and the ones in the Academy are a sure way to learn ! 🥰 I can never thank you enough for all the time you commit to being with us ! You are both so cherished by all of us ! I am glad you are enjoying your trip ! Thank you also for your kind and encouraging words for my PAC ! You elate my spirits sky high !! Sending you love and HAH….Lorraine 🎨😁❤️💕
I finished the 2 pears and I am SO SO Happy with it, I believe it turned out fantastic, all my classmates were blown away, thanks for the tutorial that gave me a base and I built on it as I tried to achieve my own translation of Manet's painting.
Another fun painting time with Ginger and Jon. Bummer you weren't able to go live but I guess stuff happens. Thanks for another awesome lesson on the ODG's!
Very helpful lesson. I appreciate your attention on color mixing. While a limited palette is helpful when mastering certain techniques, I learn so much when you bring in a variety of colors, and vary the range of whites/beiges. Plus, I love this study.
Dearest Ginger, this Monday’s Pear Painting (originally painted by Manet) was so very enjoyable. Your lesson was explained using easy analogies, and most importantly, you told us exactly what you were going to do-and then did it to demonstrate how easily our objective could be met. In fact, I watched 3 entire times, back-to-back and have the confidence to submit to you for Personal Art Coaching (PAC) asap. You & Jon never seem to, “stop working” even when on an adventure, as you bring even more inspiration back into the Academy. Treasure you both and love & blessings to you both for the Merriest Christmas ever!
I so enjoyed this lesson! Watching this painting come together was amazing. The way that you paint is truly magical. Such a fabulous lesson. Every minute was incredible. Thank you both so much.
Thanks for watching. Hopefully, next week the premier will work better. Jon and I may not be able to join the show as our ship will be boarding and unboarding..... and we have to go through customs in the am, and wait to board the ship again, and get new internet. its a process.
Wow! An outstanding painting and tutorial!! Truly stunning!! Really wish and hope that this video will get a lot of views!! It is a tutorial everyone should see! I were awake last night and were excited to be there for the premiere... Was sad that it did not happen, but there will be other times! Hope you two are having a safe and fun trip still! Stay healthy!! Artsy hugs! 🥰
We were sorry we did not bet to chat too. thanks for hanging out and being there even though it is so late at night for your. In Australia it is the next day at 10:30 in the am.
Love love love this .. I have a shelf above my new kitchen sink with some paintings I have done through your fabulous teaching Ginger. This would be amazing as well .. cant wait to give it a good go .. love this still-life style. HAHs and cruising the pacific.
So pretty , i am never to blend it so naturally , there's always hard lines . I am using acrylic paints on watercolor paper. Not sure if i am doing it wrong.
Its very hard to blend on watercolor paper unless you have given it a coat of mat varnish first and let dry to stop the absorbency of the paper. Try small canvas sheets instead from Jerrys Artarama or Canvas pro tone boards from Jerrys. Their Paramount tablet pre gessoed canvas sheets are very good and cost effective.
Well of course you can grid it on and that takes a bit more time. You have to have the image on the canvas, and yes, pears are easy for me to draw, but not most students, So by taking away the fear of drawing it on, you can concentrate on mixing colors, blending and layering. Here is a video where i show you how to grid: ua-cam.com/video/F17RN5QoR28/v-deo.html
Hi Ginger, beautiful lesson! I loved this tutorial as you explained so thoroughly and paint so beautifully, honestly you memorize me. When my friends asks me what led me to start painting. My True Answer “ I found the best artist” GINGERCOOK. AN ARTIST who shows all the techniques that one can only imagine and yes if anyone can teach from scratch IT’S YOU. Thank you both for your time. Also thank you for posting my picture on the Gazette with great comments. I am very happy that I continued my art journey with YOU🙏 thanks for all your time you give to the art community, truly appreciate it ❤️ U Both.

One of your best examples of teaching painters how to 'see'. A true light bulb moment. Bravo!!
