Some old roll film formats are coming back, but not always the stock that is really good. 620 and 127 are really exotic nowadays. The finder of the twin lens camera is a bit special, as it doesn't have a ground glass (on the other hand it will be quite bright) and you need to have something like reading distance to use it (I guess you've figured this out by now ;-)). Would be interesting to see more on these cameras. Since they seem to be rather simple models, chances are that they still work without needing service (old "higher-end" cameras are prone to problems due to their complex mechanics, especially the shutter - I do speak from experience ;-)).

Oh good to know, I haven't had much time to work with them since filming this video so I haven't figured much out yet :) I'm looking to order some film from B&H, but I can't find anywhere locally that develops so it might end up being much more complicated if I have to develop my own film... need to find a spot for a dark room

@@bendesignsmedia Developing B&W film isn't that complicated, you'd only need a "starter kit" (or somebody who has the necessary equipment), no darkroom required; I use the bathroom (kitchen works as well, as long as you keep the chemicals separate from food ;-)) and a changing bag. 8 mm movie film will be a problem - this one is hard to handle (it requires special tanks for rotary development, or at least special "spirals" for rather large tanks); getting 8 mm film will be hard and expensive (there were several variants around, like "Normal 8", "Doppel 8" and "Super 8" - I'm only familiar with the German designations), sending it in for development is costly. If you have any art school around you might find somebody who's in to it (depends on where you live).

@@c.augustingood to know. I have a couple friends who do film photography so I can probably check in with them. Yeah the 8mm will definitely be a project for later... for now it is pretty cool to have there. I'll probably check with the local university as well.
