I love that. The pans are honestly so nice. I have used lots of other stuff, and the microwave with plastic wrap, but the pans make it easier. Plus, I just set them aside while they cool. I never have to move the wool around at all while it's hot!
Koolaid IS a gateway! Finances and space keep me from being a complete addict but I have probably close to 10 lbs of fleece that stares at me everyday wanting to be dyed!
AHA! Making the koolaid into a paste instead of sprinkling it dry was such an exciting idea. Why have I not thought of it?????Who knows. But I think that the granddaughter will like that idea. We are going to try to dye a sock blank, based on her favorite artist at the moment...and I think that this may work well. You are always an inspiration.
Trish, I love watching you do everything, and you dyeing technique always makes me hold my breath! If I touch any of my dyes with out gloves my hands find the one bit and mark me, hahaha. And watching you speckle without an apron on; Girl, you are amazing! I adore how the colors came out in both. Thanks for your inspiring ways.
Soooo tempted to get some koolaid! Restraining myself 😆 not ready for another gateway to making my fiber hobby even more intense. I hope you can share some hummingbird footage! They are such magical creatures. Stay well Trish🌷🌼
That roving was beautiful. I’m not a dyer and so was not expecting to see the depth and vibrancy of colour after seeing it all wet in the pan. Just beautiful.
Re-watched because I fell asleep before I saw how it turned out yesterday, who knew dying could be so relaxing? Love the yellow from the Aztec gold, and the speckle effect is super cute.
I also started my dying journey with kool aid. You're correct when you say it will lead to other things. I love dying yarn and fiber. The colors you selected look great! Thanks again. for taking us all along with you.
Hi Trish, I hope you're well. Loved watching your dying process. Those colours are amazing. The yellow with the speckles looks like its got tiny jewels in it. Thankyou so much for this video/podcast. Sharing your expertise, you're awesome. Happy dying or spinning. Take care & stay safe. Love Jen 💘 xx
You always know how to make me giggle and put me in a good mood. You make it look so easy! Love the results. Can't wait to see how it spins and knits up!
I love how your fiber came out I’m still not sure if I want to dye mine or not but you have given me options. Your yarn came out very nice also. Stay well and safe
I hadn't seen that method of making speckles before. I'm definitely going to try that because the yarn turned out very pretty. The one time I tried dyeing with Aldi Mix-Aid I couldn't get the yarn to stop bleeding. I'm not sure what was wrong. I thought maybe it was one of those mixes you can't use to dye with. Now I'm wondering if maybe I just didn't have enough acid. It was early in my dyeing adventures. I might have to try it again and see what happens. I had to laugh about the Kool-Aid being a gateway drug. I started with Kool-Aid, moved on to food coloring, then went whole hog into the acid dyes. All within about six months! lol.
That BFL is crazy beautiful. It looked so dark in the pan but is so vibrant and rich ! Please say that’s going to the shop :) You inspired me to get the Paradise box. I want toys too.
If Kool Ade is a gateway drug then you are the biggest fiber pusher on UA-cam! No kidding. I thought I had kicked the habit but then someone suggested I watch you channel. Now the looms are out, I need more bobbins for my wheel, and someone is delivering packages to my door daily. Mostly with fiber but I’m on to the exotic designer fixes too. Alpaca, mohair, acid dyes, a blending board. Next thing you know I’ll be holding up a bank to support my habit. Do you think they will let me take my wheel to prison with me?
Even if we talk about it, I always refer to it by color. I do the same with cars and so many other things. Color carries far too much weight in my life 😂😂
The yarn and roving turned out so great! I am at the moment trying roving solar dyeing, but since I haven't dyed roving before, I am only trying little pieces. I was worried that it could go all crazy there and I would need carder to make it spinable, but I guess it is safe to dye roving, right? I also couldn't understand, you said you put the speckles on and returned the pan to simmer, but there was no water in there, or was it?
Maybe kool aid is the way for me to try dyeing. I did it with my knitting group but it was much more complicated. Maybe I just need to bite the Kool aid bullet!
That speckled yarn is aDORable!
My husband is so sweet, he was watching over my shoulder and said, “So you’re going to need some of those pans.”
I love that. The pans are honestly so nice. I have used lots of other stuff, and the microwave with plastic wrap, but the pans make it easier. Plus, I just set them aside while they cool. I never have to move the wool around at all while it's hot!

Hi Trish, Love the Speckles, super cute and springy vibe, Love the deeper colors for fall and winter vibe, Thanks for sharing, Hugs
Speckles are so cute! And that BRAID. So gorgeous!
omg, the yellow speckled yarn is gorgeous. I just love love love speckled yarn. Great job Trish.
I couldn't believe the fiber came out so bright and beautiful. It looked dark and plain in the pan. Loved it and you. Thanks.
Re-watched because I fell asleep before I saw how it turned out yesterday, who knew dying could be so relaxing?
Love the yellow from the Aztec gold, and the speckle effect is super cute.
Now I know what I'll be doing all summer break with the small people under my roof....the speckles are SO FUN!
I can’t quit watching your videos! 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
Why would you want to quit???
I always love how deep the colors dye on BFL. Everything is always so much darker on some fibers.
I also started my dying journey with kool aid. You're correct when you say it will lead to other things. I love dying yarn and fiber. The colors you selected look great! Thanks again. for taking us all along with you.

Used to have koi, this is so beautiful and spot on when you have alot swimming together xx
I always love seeing the transformation from the dye pot to dried. Also loved seeing the different speckling technique that you use!
Love how rich the paradise fiber turned out. Fun to watch your dyeing.
Love this! The roving turned out gorgeous. I love koolaid dyeing because the house smells so good after.
I love how both of these came out!! But I especially love the fiber...those colors looked nothing like that when it was wet....it's magic!!
I think I'm becoming addicted to your channel! LOL!! Once again, you've done a fabulous job! Both projects are beautiful.
You always know how to make me giggle and put me in a good mood. You make it look so easy! Love the results. Can't wait to see how it spins and knits up!
It’s so much fun dyeing with you. I really like how your speckles turned out and the fiber turned out gorgeous!☺️💜
Wow, the Aztec Gold is a really lovely color. Will be interested to see how the fiber spins up.
The intensity of that BFL is gorgeous! I love it
Hi Trish, I enjoyed watching you dye the fiber and the yarn. Looking forward to seeing the end result!
Gorgeous! The speckles make me hungry for birthday cake! 💖
Can’t get enough of your dyeing videos!
Now I'm dyeing to try the speckles! XD
Love the BFL colors! I hope we get to see you spin it up eventually
Such a success! The braid is stunning! I also really love how the speckles turned out. You are inspiring!
Love watching you do things different than I think about doing them! Lol
Thank you Trish. I think I learn at least one thing from each if your videos.
So surprised to see the speckling done that way with kool aid I’ve only seen it done with dry powder ! Nice!!
Wow. that BFL and silk turned out gorgeous!
I love how your fiber came out I’m still not sure if I want to dye mine or not but you have given me options. Your yarn came out very nice also. Stay well and safe
They turned out great. I really love the deep colors the fiber came out!
I had no idea that kool-aid dyed so nicely! I just started using food colouring and I love it on alpaca. Thanks for sharing :-)
Can not wait to see how the fiber dyes up
The BFL looks so good after you dyed it. You have to show us if you spin it up and what it looks like after.
Wow, that fibre came out gorgeous!!! And finally we are getting kool-aid in some shops over here so I might get to try it one day!! Have a good day 😀
They turned out so beautiful! Now I need to get me some kool-aid!
Love the way those turned out😍
The speckled yarn looks amazing! Makes me want to try dyeing yarn sometime soon 😉
Those yarns are totally gorgeous, thank you so much.🕊❤️🧶
Now I know what to do with my April Paradise package
Wow, those speckles turned out so well! I’ll be giving that a try!
I love using the koolaid for speckles, thanks for the idea!
Oh mylanta those turned out terrific!! Thanks for dyeing!!
Oh my goodness. Your color dyeing came out great. Need to try the cool Aid for speckling. Thx Trish for sharing.
I would love to see how the speckled yarn knits up. Aztec Yellow is one I need to get into my supply box!
So pretty! Thanks for including is in your dye session. :)
Absolutely gorgeous yarn and fiber trish thanks for sharing x

Loved watching this. You make everything so exciting with your enthusiasm.
Love the results of your dye session. 💕
Very pretty!
Loved “dyeing” with you! Your personality is wonderful, love your videos.
Excellent dying video! You make this look so easy.
“Gateway” to dyeing!!! Lol

The fiber is beautiful
That BFL is crazy beautiful. It looked so dark in the pan but is so vibrant and rich ! Please say that’s going to the shop :) You inspired me to get the Paradise box. I want toys too.
Sorry! I spun it up, but there may or may not be a bump in my cart for my next fiber order so I can dye it for the shop in the future!
A little nervous about dyeing the fiber so I'm going to give this a try once I have it spun!
A great story, loved it.
Love the dyeing.
Very kool ,fun to watch!
These turned out lovely!

If they would, I would probably commit crimes just so I could get locked up with my wheel and no housework
Will have to check out Aldis soon
Loved watching you dye those fibers. Where did you get the restaurant cooking pans you are using for dying?
ACK, I felted my paradise April box. I think it is salvageable but what a bummer!
I always wonder how well the kool-aid color lasts, does it fade any quicker than acid dyes? Could it be used to do tie-dye with kids?
That looks so fun!
I love your dying videos! Your voice is very soothing.
Awesome! Love the bfl
So fun!!!
Adding kool aid to my grocery pick up now!
Today I learned: “Koolaid is way cooler than I thought it was!”
I love how you say “different colors” of Kool-aid , not different flavors ‼️
Even if we talk about it, I always refer to it by color. I do the same with cars and so many other things. Color carries far too much weight in my life 😂😂
I have not tried the Allison brand for dying, guess I need to make a quuck store run.
Oh gosh I have to stop watching your videos…. I dint sleep long enough as it is and want to try all these techniques!
The yarn was still wet, and I did add some water after it had a minute to heat. I just didn't want the speckles to run too much.
"Gateway drug" - 😂😂😂 I just played with some food coloring on roving over the weekend, and let's just say, I might have a problem...
There are groups for that, and I think you found one here!
Maybe kool aid is the way for me to try dyeing. I did it with my knitting group but it was much more complicated. Maybe I just need to bite the Kool aid bullet!
May try to speckle that way as well
Kool aid isn't readily available where I live. Can I use other drink powders? Is it OK if they are sweetened?
You can use any drink powder, as long as it's the type that's unsweetened.
Koolaid as a gateway 😂😂😂
Where or how do I find your Etsy store? Fiber Love Diary or you name?
There should be a link in the description box
I have been gathering things to dye fiber
"I haven't dyed on my channel for a really long time" 😄
I've really have to have more confident and adventurous in my dyeing
