Oh yes! Say hi to Erika and thank her also again for the hospitality and kudos for good paddling efforts 🙂 Those were indeed amazing days. I'll get to individual videos for each paddle eventually, I had thought I could combine them all in one video but it would be incredibly long - there's so much to show from each trip!
@@THE-RIVER-RAT Let's say David was referring to X500 paddlers and you've converted after all 😎 You're all our favorite Pakayak paddler I'm sure 😎 Though @fishaholicboy gives you a run for the money with some very cool videos from beautiful Hong Kong!
@@AirOnTheWater lol ok I will take it Haha You're not wrong there I love watching him paddling in Hong Kong there are some beautiful places, and he makes some great videos.
True story. Much fun was had! Always nice to see new places, and in this case in good company. I'm not sure, but I think it's also the first time I've paddled three times in one day in different locations. I've done two paddles in the same day in multiple locations a number of times and three paddles in one location before.
@@THE-RIVER-RAT I think that was what they were! Dan-Erik explained that during the warm season, that is a place that can be rented, with the cabin, I think sauna, and then the tubs. Looks quite nice. Though just camping on the nearby islands as he does/they do seems good enough for me. Awesome to have those lake waters and camping spots so close and within paddle range.
great video! What do you think about the 2-person model? I think I can use it alone, but I also think about going on long tours with my friend from time to time. Can I get the same performance with the 2-person model?
Hi there! Thanks, and thanks for watching. I have seen the two-person model exhibited, but unfortunately I have never had a chance to try it myself, so I can't provide insight on this. The "Itiwit X500 owners" and "Itiwit users" groups on Facebook might be of help!
Awesome... Decathlon should sponsor this... Better advertisement hardly possible. At least in DE the X500 is offered at reduced price now. I wonder, is new version coming?
Thank you Robert! These are just our actual paddle experiences having fun with the yaks. 🙂 I'm not sure if the discounts are related, but it's been announced officially that a new kayak, expanding on the Itiwit X500 concept, is in the works - an inflatable expedition kayak. We don't know the stats yet, and I would expect it to be longer and heavier, so my guess is that it might not be a replacement for the X500, but rather another option for those that prioritize packing space and long trips. The current X500 does a decent job of keeping within weight limits that make it possible to carry. Of course, if the new version were to somehow be light enough to transport easily, that would be awesome. Let's wait and see!
@@AirOnTheWater Yes, X500 seem like a good compromise between portability and performance. I only wish it would be like 0,5m longer. I look forward to the new development. If Decathlon will come up with a boat of minimum 4,3m long while more or less maintaining the width and weight of X500, I would be seriously tempted. But looking at parameters of X500 2-seater, I think that would be difficult. It seems though Decathlon has quite competent engineers onboard, and engineers love good challenge ;) BTW, did you had a chance to further test the R500?
@@robertbloch1063 Indeed! Even so, I was surprised that the Race 500 isn't heavier or larger than it is (it's actually easier to carry than the X500 as it's smaller in the bag, even if a few kg extra), but of course that is an open kayak. We've had a quite cold spring and as such cold water, and also weather; I haven't felt like testing the Race 500 further in cold conditions and a drysuit was the best option. Now it's finally been warm and the water has warmed up quickly, so I'm hoping to complete those tests soon. Stay tuned 😎
My X500 like all of them will pull to the side I was last paddling (or effect by wind/waves) after a while when I stop paddling, which isn't an issue for me. While actually paddling, I find it goes quite straight. I experienced a leak in the rear air tube behind the seat, which appears common, after more than a year. Otherwise, any leaks have been caused by external damage - I put my X500 through a lot.
About pulling to the left, were you thinking about when I was going against the current? That's the current pushing it - if it had started leaning to the right, the same thing would have happened in that direction. 😎
