Just beat this 100% a few days ago. The platforming gets kind of insane (and super fun if you like that) from mid game onwards, especially with more movement abilities. Hope to see more of this one, it's good!
I don't know if you ever picked this game back up, but I've been playing it the last few weeks and it's amazing. I heard about issues with the platforming early on, but that seems to all be fixed now. Definitely recommend you give it another shot if you haven't already.
I picked this game few weeks ago. I like it, it can be really hard sometimes at plateforming or avoiding enemies decided to kill you at any cost, but so far I enjoyed it and the difficulty of it does not put me away. What is the most frustrating, I think, is to be stopped in the middle of some very difficult stage because you lack some ability or some skill, and to be forced to go backward looking for something you have no clue about or where to find it, redoing over and over the same complicated things you have already proven you could do once, losing time and fun doing so. This puts me away and I stop playing for a while.
I am playing through the game currently, almost done with it and the platforming in the later stages is incredibly difficult as with the bosses it’s balanced but it is obnoxiously hard
You talk about Noctis mode, if you find it too difficult play Aeterna mode first. Aeterna mode is like HK for hard and Noctis mode is HK + Super Meat boy. the game is very different, try it. 😊😉
@@grupodw01 I agree however the game is a much better and more authentic experience on the higher difficulty, my run I’m doing the harder difficulty right now
Beat 100% a few days after getting it. Totally worth picking up imo. Harder than Hollow Knight for the most part. Lots of the late game platforming is as hard as path of pain, and in some places even harder. Have not played the easier difficulty, however. Game introduces some awesome mechanics that I’ve never seen anywhere else, and is my second favorite metroidvania. I will say that some areas contained portions that were not just difficult, but annoying. It turned me off from doing another 100% run, but I’m having fun on more casual playthroughs. Music and art are top tier. I recommend it if you understand that you’ll be in for a hard game.
Your on point with that recommendation indeed, I’m close to 100 percentage and I never thought I would make it this far, some boss battles were insane hard, and I have died about 1600 plus times lol
Have you played Vigil the Longest Night? Its a mix of Salt and Sanctuary(there is even a reference to it) and Bloodborne. Very lovecraftian and convoluted with crazy story and enemy desing (especially bosses)
I bought this game day one thinking it's more like SoTN. Its way more platform puzzler then anything. Prob I had was I like to go in games blind. This game you need a online guide of where to go or you will be lost so easily. I like games that let you explore but this one can make you waste hours. Use a guide is my suggestion. That and when the platforming gets frustrating you should def take breaks. I took a week off and I'm completely lost in what I was doing and might as well start all over. Not a bad game but def a time sink. 7/10 for me.
I bought this game day one, extremely frustrating game and if you think that puzzle you mentioned ss hard then just wait man, Gotten almost to the end and I gave up on the game because its near impossible. Some of the puzzles are down right insanity. Good game nonetheless but hard as hell.
Some of your complaints make sense, others are just your opinion on the game style. Like the puzzle with the 2 plataforms. You clearly don't like challenging platformers, its ok.
I have beaten this game 2 times 100 % on a very early version like 1.00002 and I refused to update it because they were making it easier and easier for the casual audience which I did not like so I just refused to update . Did the game feel a little floaty ? It did a bit sure but once you got use to the feel it was fine later on , deaths always felt like my fault , and like with many games knowledge is half the battle , first time I died about 1200 times for a 100% , the second time it was 300 times because I was much better and knew what to do for both the combat and platforming so saying ,,oh it's the game's fault ,, is definitely untrue . This game is incredible , honestly it was so good it rivals Hollow Knight for me and I don't say that lightly , I have over 500 hours in Hollow Knight , did pretty much everything I could including POH with all 4 bindings at the same time dozens of times so for me to say this game is a contender for the GOAT of the genre means something because I was their intended audience , more hard core and better players overall , not boasting it is just a fact . The combat was good , there was a good amount of enemy variety , bosses were excellent overall , platforming was great , music was also great , there was fun side content and the visuals were stunning , the game also had a lot of customization with the gems and the skill tree which will affect how you will play. Now am I saying that the game is perfect ? No , it has its flaws just like any game does , there were some minor annoyances but nothing too bad . This game was designed for veterans the genre , people who like difficult games , hard but fair , it was not designed for the casuals , this is what the developers themselves have said , not me being an elitist or anything . They added Aeterna ( easy ) mode and made Noctis ( default or hard mode depending on point of view ) easier to appease the masses because they needed the sales which is understandable but it is disappointing they were making Noctis mode easier which in turn made me not want to update it as I saw absolutely no need for it , the game was hard but it wasn't frustratingly hard , there were many checkpoints in platforming sections . I am glad more people will get to play and enjoy this game more now but I am also disappointed because I expect them to make future content easier overall when it should be the opposite .
I am playing this right now and I believe it's really, really good, maybe on the same level with Hollow Knight. Less personality in art direction, soundtrack, lore ecc but more complex and satisfying platforming.

And I do also recommend you play through this game it has great story and doing some of the harder sections feels really good

Haha i just got an ad for this game...and five minutes later im here! (again..)
My problem with this game is its nearly All platforming. No time to take in the surroundings if they were worth taking in.
I can't wait for this to be ported to Switch! I need this now

@@robertsylvester3542 Your valor is commendable. I salute you 🫡
Do you recommend the game? I beat Hollow knight, Dread, the mummy demaster and haak.
BTW have the controls been updated since release or was this patch from b4 release?
Have you played Vigil the Longest Night? Its a mix of Salt and Sanctuary(there is even a reference to it) and Bloodborne. Very lovecraftian and convoluted with crazy story and enemy desing (especially bosses)
I'll have to take a look
Nice one, may consider picking this one up now. The initial reviews put me off

Aeterna Noctis is the epiphany of Metroidvanias
I missed the first play through of this but looking at this now, it looks like a good game to pass the time with. Hugs💕✨

I'm so glad to hear that they cleaned up the control a bit. Thanks for the update!
Edit to add: I'd love to see you play through this.

Yeah, the main problem was when the controls were lose and not responsive. The platforming was not fun in that case.
this game is an absolute gem, its a shame people dont see it yet, they will..
yup it looks like and have you tried souldiers!! amazing title too
I've been following this game for a while
I'm glad they went back and fix the problems
I'm waiting for the Switch release
