I had a lot of people ask why i don't add faces to them. This is a great question! I don't put a face on my fairy dolls because I haven't found a way to do the face that I like better than just leaving them plain. It leaves more to the imagination. With that said, you are welcome to put a face on the doll. I have seen some done with sharpie pens and acrylic paint. It is totally up to you! I use a 3/4 inch size bead that has a 1/8 inch hole. I am in the process of figuring out a few different ways to do wings for the fairy dolls. I will probably do a tutorial just for fairy wings. Watch for it! Thank you for all of your questions and for taking the time to leave a comment. Happy crafting!
Thank you for your amazing craft !! Thank you for refreshing my childhood & love for fairy tales through your awesome craft !!! Shall look forward for your new creations! Kalpana, from nepal; the land of mt. Everest

I can't thank you enough! I am looking for inexpensive crafts I can do in bed. I have been bedridden for two years. This looks inexpensive and amazing. The feeling I get when I create something is wonderful, because I feel so unproductive in bed, I worked so hard when I was working...so it gives me a bit of my self worth back. Thank you :)
Julie Kent Thank you so much! Your comment just made my day. It means so much to me to hear that others are benefiting from my tutorials. I'm so sorry to hear that you are bedridden. I can't imagine how hard that must be. I love that you are keeping yourself busy. I would love to see any of your fairy (or other) creations. If you would like to share pictures, I am on Instagram #untidyartist. Thank you for taking the time to leave such a kind comment. Happy crafting!
Julie Kent I am also bedridden, most of the time... Crafting has become a constant pleasure in my life, also. I'm just finishing one of these fairies. Check out this wonderful lady, her name is Sonya Stepto.. Gosh, there's so much talent, everywhere !
Im sorry to hear you are bedridden. Have you ever heard of octopus-for-a-preemie? you can do a google search and learn how to do it. they help with the quality of life for preemie babies they are also always looking for baby items blankets and hats they are super easy and cheap to do and ALWAYS appreciated (if your might be looking for something else to do)
These are just adorable! I would love to make some for my Christmas tree next year. Could you please tell me how large the wooden balls are that you use for the head? Thank you so much for your wonderful tutorial! :o)
If we have been sent to the time to the best regards to David is not sure if you can get to a Party and the best regards please notify us know if we are not sure if we have a good for your email address is not sure you have been sent via BlackBerry device from my resume and I am not sure if we have a lot of this message and the first time for me know what I have been sent to the best for your own and the best regards
You make this look so easy . I just started but the wire bending takes more skill than I thought 😆 Edit: I did it!!! It looks really cute for my first one . That was fun. Thank you
Amazing, my friend told me about this today, I'm so glad she did. I'm hooked. Can't wait to get started. Purchased everything today. :) Thank you for sharing this wonderful tutorial.
hi Emilie i am new to this in fact i am going to try my 1st one as soon as i figure out what gauge floral wire you used and where to find it. none of the craft stores in my area seem to have the white covered ones and if they do it is the very thin stuff can. you tell me what the gauge is of your wire that maybe i can get the tape to cover the silver or green one? thank you.
Cathy Sweet Hi! I use 20 gauge or 22 gauge floral wire. If your local craft store doesn't carry the white covered ones you can easily use whatever kind of covered wire they carry (I am guessing green, or brown!). You end up covering up all of the wire with the thread anyway. Hope this helps. Have fun making your 1st fairy! They are rather addicting! Thank you for watching. Happy crafting!
Heya I accidentally clicked on your video but after watching just 5 seconds i was amazed and had to subscribe 😉 . Your creativity is wonderful an i am looking forward to your next videos ! :)
Your tutorials are awesome! Thank you for sharing! We got a dollhouse for our daughter's birthday but don't have any dolls. I can't wait to make some for her!!
I've been studying your tutorials for a few days and I just made my first one. My little girl is in awe! Thanks for creating such an easy to follow craft that surely brings joy to others. It certainly brightened our morning!
Emilie, Thank you so much for your excellent tutorial it was so easy to follow. For Christmas this year I am making fairy houses and accessories for my granddaughters. At first, I thought I would purchase the fairies but then I found your excellent tutorial. I just finished my first practice fairy and she is so cute and adorable. My granddaughters are going to be the happiest girls on the planet this year. Thank you again, could not have done it without your help.
These are beautiful, thanks for sharing. I made my first fairy yesterday before I had seen this and I like your ideas. I used a pipe cleaner which is ok but I like the idea of the floss to get the skin tone and body suit. I will be making more!
I love your dolls thanks hun so much for taking time to do this . I'm not well and don't leave the house but I've been crafting along time and never seen anything like this . your a great teacher so easy to follow your videos can't wait to see what is next in your doll adventures happy new years Emilie!!!!!
i really want to thank you for this inspiring tutorials i actually made by my self 3 of those for the charity bazaar in my brother's school thank you again!
I just found your tutorials today and I subscribed. Your explanations are very clear and easy to follow. I hope soon I can actually put a doll together. The reason I came here today was because I made a paper napkin ballerina and it didn't turn out so well. These look prettier. Looking forward to watching more of your videos. And also have you ever ran out of thread while making the "skin" of the doll? And if so how do you fix it?
You can just add another thread of the same color tie a small knot that holds them together and cut off the excess.Make sure you double wrap that part twice to make it unnoticed.
I finally found your response from 10 months ago. For those of you wondering, she used 22 gauge, and she put the link to Hobby Lobby where she purchased the wire.
Unfortunately I have not seen all your videos yet, nor have I read thru all the comments...my apologies...but wanted to let you know that I made these today and I LOVE THEM! I also used the plastic from the middle of the flower as crowns. They look so cute! Thank you for your video
Does the floral wire have to be covered in cloth or can it be covered in paper please I live in uk and is struggling to find them with cloth on, and is itching to try and make one. Love all your tutorials so easy to follow x
+niki bradley I did not use cloth wire, but it works both ways. the random wire may be a little harder to work with, but i made two dolls and its fine.
Marie Louise How frustrating! Yes, they are 3/4 inch circumference. You need the 3/4 inch beads with the1/8 inch hole. You can also use a wooden bead that measures 3/4 inch and has a 5/32 inch hole. Here is a link to where Hobby Lobby sells them online. @3Hope this helps! Happy crafting!
you know that I had to give a art and craft thing in my school but I was confused what should I make and thing that everyone love. now I can make this doll. THANKYOU soo...................... .much
Thank you for this video. I had fun making these. I made a little variation by dying the beads with food coloring. Also, using a curved needle thread monofilament between the shoulders to make ornaments. My first project hung on a baby mobile. My 5 month old niece loved it.
R Adams Yay! I would love to see pictures of your fairies! You can post them on instagram with the hashtag #untidyartist or email me at untidyartist@gmail.com.
Hi, I accidentally came across your tutorial and am amazed! I want to thank you for sharing your craft and teaching others such as myself. I am in love with your dolls! I have subscribed. I can't wait until my cast comes off, I have a broken wrist from a horrific car accident. Thank you again, you have gained a new fan and follower.
Me too, I went and bought all the materials I need to make a few fairies. Now all I need is my wrist to heal. My granddaughters are going to go crazy over these.
Lovely! I just tried your flower fair doll, I am having the hardest time finding the White Flora wire stem, I tried the green ones but they were much to thick and hard to twist, I found some white ones but too thin, were do you purchase yours please?Thank you
I just made my first 2 dolls! These are so amazing. My little girl loves them, and my oldest daughter wants me to make one into a key chain for her!! I'm sure I speak for many people when I say thank you so much for this tutorial!
Your comment made my day! I love to hear my tutorials are helpful and inspire others to be creative, and definitely when it comes to my fairy dolls! They are so much fun to make! I am in the process of doing a tutorial on a "mini" fairy doll that also might be fun for a key chain. Watch for it in the next month or so. Please tell your daughter that is an AWESOME idea! I would love to see pics of your fairies! If you happen to take any pictures and would like to post them on instagram be sure to include to hashtag #untidyartist . Thanks again!
I just made my first flower fairy and had the best time! I added some green leaves as fairy wings and it's the cutest thing! Thank you so much for this tutorial. The best!!
Everyone needs to know... The inner earth is not molten lava!!! It is in fact it's own earth with crystals everywhere! They have light everything you can think of! And YES FARIES! There real friends!!!! 😮❤❤❤❤
Sweet, but I would use cheap yarn. DMC or ANCHOR is too expensive to waste. Using a whole skein on one small project? Ludicrous. Just get a pack of cheap generic thread.
I'm excited to make this but I'm finding it difficult to find the stem floral wire and the right wooden bead size. I'm from Canada. When I click on the link for the 20 gauge wire on amazon, my total product purchase was over $50 due to shipping and handling so I canceled my order! I am still on a look out for this kind of floral wire and the right size of wooden bead to make this project for my girls. I went on Michael's website but they don't have the white cloth floral wire. They also don't carry a 3/4" round wooden bead with 1/8" hole. I didn't find it at my local Walmart either. Anybody here from Canada that had found the supplies... care to share where you bought yours? Thanks!
Please share how you display your flower fairies. I have made many and would love to show them off! Right now I stand them up by putting their legs into empty toilet paper rolls. I"d love to hang them - any ideas are appreciated! Thank you, Rochelle
Grandpa made a dollhouse for our grandchild, she’s finally old enough for it this Christmas, so i think these dolls will be perfect! Wish me luck ? Thank you
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP So when I was a little girl, this was probably around 1998/99, my mom was manager at a Joannes and was literally the craft QWEEEN. She would bring home different art supplies and crafts all the time and had a closet filled with every supply you could ever need for any craft, sewing, painting, woodmaking, beading, scrapbooking. You name it, we had it. That year my older sister was gifted this neat little intricate craft kit that made these exact little flower fairy dolls that she would let me help her make while we watched Britney Spears music videos together on our beanbag chairs...an extremely early childhood memory of mine that I hold very close to me. Anyways, they looked exactly exactly spot on, JUST like these, the kit used this exact technique for everything, yarn hair, little wooden bead heads, twine wire and little plastic leaves and flowers for the dress. The heads only had 2 little black dotted with eyes painted on them. I've searched all over the internet and can't for the life of me find the craft kit or anything like it. I remember it was a really nice craft set, a more sophisticated kit that was definitely geared towards teens or young adults, that came in a cool tin box and had enough supplies to probably make at least 10 different looking little fairies. Anyways I really wanted to find this craft to gift to my sister almost 20 years later but can't find it anywhere, so if anyone knows what in the world I'm talking about or can find it please let me know
+Bidibulle Hi! The item you need to make fairy dolls that I show at 0:43 is 18 inch floral wire that has been covered in cloth. I purchase it at Hobby Lobby although I have seen it at many other craft stores. I have had some subscribers tell me that they were unable to find this exact type of wire and so they used a pipe cleaner, wire cut to 18 inches, or floral wire without the cloth. Hope this helps! :)
Love your fairies, I stumbled across your tutorials yesterday and am going to buy the supplies to make one today! They are really cute. I am wondering if they are too big for Christmas ornaments. What size do they turn out to be (assuming 5 - 6") and have you ever tried hanging one?
Thank you! I haven't tried hanging these as ornaments, however, I think it is an awesome idea! They turn out to be 5-6" (your assumption is correct!) and they are not very heavy. I would be sure to hang them on a sturdy branch. Happy crafting!
Hi Emilie, happy Sunday. I have been watching your videos and i want to say thank you. The first one was hard, but not i just finished my third one and it is getting easier. I also fallowed your hair up doo tutorial, it came out okey next will be better. i also would like to ask if you have a tutorial on how to give these fairies a face? Again thank you, you dolls are beautiful.🧚🏻♂️🧚🏻♀️
I was searching for a doll in UA-cam but did not find satisfaction with any video and finally found your awesome video 👌👌👌this was the doll which I was desiring 😍😘😘🤩
These dolls are super cute. Maybe this weekend I'll get some supplies and make these for my cousins. Can you give me a link on where to get the supplies? Thank you so much. I appreciate it. Liked and Subed. :)
The link you provided for the wooden bead heads is wrong. The link is to beads that are for 3/16” and you really need 1/8”. Im lowkey pissed because I was wanting to do this project and now I have to wait longer because I need to order the correct size -_-
Hi, does it matter the gauge of the wire? There's so many different gauges. Thank you for sharing. I plan on making them and calling them worry fairies for the child in the DV shelter. I'm hoping it'll some kids
I watched this video before and didn't make notes on the heads haha. It won't load while I'm out so I'm wondering what size the head beads are and where did you get them? I checked at Michaels and found some that seemed big enough, although the hole is a bit large so I'll need to use some hot glue to keep the hair and such in place. but they still don't seem quite right. Our store apparently has a sad bead selection now, sigh.
Please I cannot get beads or wires anywere in Northern Ireland UK can I buy them from you I am subscribed and its frustrating craft shops here nothing sewing shops nothing I just want wooden beads and long coated wires thank you 🇬🇧
mam awesome... u have innovative ideas.my sister had doll making competition she got first prize got first prize by doing this fairy doll.i am very grateful to u mam...Ur tutorial is awesome.it is inexpensive craft we don't need to buy in the shops i have showcased this fairy doll in my home everyone like it.u are the best craft teacher
Can't get these anywere in UK scotland and Ireland please if anyone knows where I can get them I will be so grateful I tried amazon nothing I manages to get wooden beads but they send only 6 of what it takes for a head the rest are tiny.cost is much more than your wallchart.i so wish that company would expand here aswell 🇬🇧
Emilie Lefler thanks for your answer. We're heartbroken at the moment as we cannot find the exact beads that you used. The 3/4 beads we have at our art craft stores have either a smaller or larger opening. Any suggestions or recommendations to find the ones you used online?
Shawn Hobbs How frustrating! I buy my wooden beads from Hobby Lobby. Here is the link to where you can purchase them online - shop.hobbylobby.com/products/3/4-birch-round-beads-with-1/8-hole-621755/ I suppose you could drill your own holes into the beads (one of my subscribers said this is what they did when they couldn't find the right beads and they said it worked perfectly!) Hope this helps! Good luck!
With your tutorial I’ve been making these for years. I ended up lacing her feet with the same color as her blouse so it looks like a ballerina. I also added a string of tiny beads over her head down her back ❤
What gauge wire are you using? You make it look so easy to bend the wire at the neck and I am using a 16 and I've used a 18 gauge and it is proving to be very hard.
I finally found your response from 10 months ago. For those of you wondering, she used 22 gauge, and she put the link to Hobby Lobby where she purchased the wire.

Thank you 😊 for sharing
Too Cute
I can’t wait to try my hand at this !
Grandpa made a dollhouse for our grandchild, she’s finally old enough for it this Christmas, so i think these dolls will be perfect! Wish me luck ? Thank you
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP
So when I was a little girl, this was probably around 1998/99, my mom was manager at a Joannes and was literally the craft QWEEEN. Anyways I really wanted to find this craft to gift to my sister almost 20 years later but can't find it anywhere, so if anyone knows what in the world I'm talking about or can find it please let me know
Hello, Can you please tell me what is this ? -> 0:43
+Emilie Lefler, thank you ! :-)
+Emilie Lefler what gauge floral wire do you use thanks
@@elainedunn3721 she mentioned it on the Video.
Happy to hear it! Thanks for watching!
in excitement i have repeated first prize two times........
Hi Emilie!
What gauge size of the wire did you use.
The video looks like 22, but correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks so much!!
Im lowkey pissed because I was wanting to do this project and now I have to wait longer because I need to order the correct size -_-
شكرا على هذا الابداع (عقول مبدعه) اتمنى استفاد منكم في مسرح الاطفال
Have you ever put a loop on the top of the fairy dolls head so you can hang it?
i think just push the top of the wire through a little more, and add a twist or two on top of the hair (if that makes sense?)
I love your fairy... so, so cute!
😊
Thumbs up thank you so much! I've been collecting items for my fairy dolls but really was lost!

What gauge wire are you using? We bought 18 gauge, and it will barely even bend! It's a shame, because this is such a cute craft :(
Emilie Lefler:How much "thread" does it take to wrap the body part of the doll...more than one hank?
It's so easy and fun and cute!! Thanks for showing us how to make it :D I subbed to you c:
iHasSparkls Rawr Thank you! It is always so great to get positive feedback. Happy crafting!

❤️❤️❤️ your little Faeries! Oh will be trying it, hopefully today. 🤓
Really cute, but where did you get the floral wire? I have been looking for it like crazy, but i cant find it. (-:
Love this! What gauge wire did you use?
Kelley Pontius Berkeland Hi! I use 20 or 22 gauge wire for the fairies. Hope this helps! Happy crafting!
I absolutely love these. I can't wait to start making them for my granddaughters Thank you so much for sharing this
Hi, my wife and I are planning to do this with our daughters. What gauges of wire do you use? Thanks
Shawn Hobbs Yay! What a fun family project! 20 or 22 gauge wire work perfectly for the fairies. Thank you for watching and have fun making fairies!
Here is the link to where you can purchase them online - shop.hobbylobby.com/products/3/4-birch-round-beads-with-1/8-hole-621755/
I suppose you could drill your own holes into the beads (one of my subscribers said this is what they did when they couldn't find the right beads and they said it worked perfectly!) Hope this helps! Good luck!
omg🥺 I remember watching these when I was like 8/9.. I made a bunch of these dolls 😭
With your tutorial I’ve been making these for years. I ended up lacing her feet with the same color as her blouse so it looks like a ballerina. I also added a string of tiny beads over her head down her back ❤
vous pouvez svp nous traduire la video merci
You should make Thumbelina from the Don Bluth animated film.
I have watched several of your fairy doll diy tutorials and was curious if you could make a Cinderella doll? Thanks :)
What gauge wire are you using? You make it look so easy to bend the wire at the neck and I am using a 16 and I've used a 18 gauge and it is proving to be very hard.
